Honda leases: legal loan sharks
We leased a 2015 Honda Fit from Automaster dealership in South Burlington Vermont in Aug 2015. Paid $2K up front for the lease and $246/month for 36 months for a total 36-month lease price of $20, 280. Total mileage at end of lease when we will turn it in in Aug will be about 15K miles . Vehicle looks and drives virtually brand new. No dings no scratches no marks of any kind. Still has “new car” smell. Just got purchase “payoff quote” from Honda Financial Services if we wish to purchase the Fit we leased for three years: $12, 469.00 (in addition to the $20,280 we have already paid for a grand total of $23, 290.00 !!! for this 3-year old 2015 cheaply-made pile of tin and plastic!!! The average MSRP for a new 2018 Fit = $18, 130 !!!! Friends warned me NEVER to lease but like a *** I did not pay attenton. Fool me once, shame on me. Don’t say you weren’t warned.
