Resolved: Bought a "like new" Honda Ridgeline THAT became a repair nightmare within 60 days
- - Bought a Ridgeline from Thayer Honda.
- - Told 'like new' but had issues.
- - Starter failed; transmission blew.
- - Thayer won't help or offer warranty.
Thayer Honda resolved my issue to my satisfaction.
I Bought a, 2007 Honda Ridgeline from Thayer Honda in Bowling Green, Ohio, on July 27, 2019, which was represented to me by the sales person to be "like new"; that turned out to be a repair nightmare within 2 months (70 days). Thayer WILL NOT help me with 2 major repairs -- the starter motor broke on Oct 9; then the transmission 'blew up' 2 days later on Oct 11.
Needs new tranny.
Thayer "washed their hands" of the truck and will not help me.
I'm a 75 year-old Vietnam veteran living on a small VA pension. I cannot afford being sold a "lemon" that was sold as a "like-new" truck.
Friendly advice; DO NOT buy a used vehicle -- particularly a 'Ridgeline', from Thayer Honda WITHOUT getting an
ironclad 6 month warranty from them, (which they would not give me because they said the truck was "like new"!) Don't do it.
I'm 'screwed' and there appears to be nothing I can do about it.
