Texas Attorney General

I filed a perfectly valid claim with the AG's Crime Victim's Compensation division, which is a whole division of the Attorney General's Office located in Austin after being the victim of domestic violence in Galveston. They offer to pay for victims to move, seek help/counseling, medical (after your insurance and everything else has been exhausted etc).

I filed my claim last year in August and had to move out in October. I moved and covered all the costs myself, which put me in the red and unable to keep up with my rent and utilities. They are also supposed to potentially pay for up to 3 months rent etc. My claim was 'approved' in January, but they have never sent me a single dollar.

Although the accused party has already been found guilty and done their jail sentence, they are refusing to pay without documentation that we lived together. They will not accept the lease ammendment adding one of us to the lease because a portion of the legal form has a blank line to fill in and so they are saying it is 'handwritten.' No other document exists. I was evicted from my house I had just moved to and called them repeatedly to tell them my situation and they have done nothing. I looked online and there are tons of other claimant's getting the run around by the AG also and not getting compensated.

They should not have this division at all or offer this service if theyre going to just hang a carrot in front of everyone and play with them like we are animals and not people. I'm really pissed and this has only made it that much more difficult to move on with my life- I would otherwise be on to a new chapter but the AG has made that impossible. They have never called me to ask me anything about my claim, or even bothered to give me any instruction as to how to proceed- I had to do everything and follow up probably a hundred times for nothing..

I was relying on this money after being approved, and they have done me a huge disservice if anything. I would really like to sue them.

On January 8th i had booked 2 rooms with LaQuinta Inn, in Lufkin TX and when i arrived i paid for my room and after paying the east Indian guy behind the counter told me i had to pay other charges to stay in the room which put the bill over $100 & some dollars. I told him it didn't specify all the charges he was trying to charge.

I asked for my money back, which was all i had and he refused. I said i was going somewhere else. He kept my money and i contacted paypal and got my $65 back. Then after i left i went to motel 6 around the corner.

The next day, he charged my account causing me to go into the red by $56 & some change. I have an investigation going on with paypal trying to get my money back. Plus i noticed after i canceled my card and got a new one, the same guy tried to withdrawal another amount of $75 & some change. He has been trying to steal money out of my account and to me this is fraud!

I want my money back and hes doing this to others im sure. A customer was standing there thatcwas staying there heard the whole thing and said the charges were ridiculous! She agreed to give my money back to me as it was all i had. I just moved here from Washington State and didnt think hotels down here were like that.

In Washington state they dont do that at all. All the extra ridiculous made up fees that he made up on the spot! My husband refused to pay for the other room for the (kids) teenagers that were with us! He wanted me to give him jewelry or my phone.

I told him no that it was a ridiculous request. If that doesn't spell scam, i dont know what does!

That hotel needs to be investigated. They are located at 2119 S 1st St, Lufkin Texas.

Hello. This company is total scam.

The loss claim is rejected without any reason. The representatives saying that they do not know the reason for rejection (even one of them said that they reject all claims) and can not do anything and keep saying that a supervisor will call me back which never happens. It has been 9 days and still no calls from supervisor. Every email to them coming back as rejected with no reason given.

I can not get a hold of supervisor who is rejecting the claim.

If you guys check all the reviews online, you will find out that there is so many people with same issues with this company. They are total scam.

I've been getting black balled harassed. Got some this in my person that can prove my case.

I need to see how to proceed. I'm a good person that had a good mind tell all of this happen. So I need peace of mind and my family's safety might be involved don't know why I've since high school this been happening to me I've just been keeping my head up and pushing forward now its getting lower lower as the weeks go by I know I should have done this sooner I've asked family members for answers but they was talking to me but then just stopped.

So I was looking for stuff and now ive been lied to from very kind of service u can think of me joining from jobs, email, to IRS lol so I'm please here me out I'm just one person that always trusted in the laws and has works for the state, mental homes, to elderly property housing. But always had my family and my home town to come back to.
