- Teri Buhl, a k a Tax Lien Teri

Teri Buhl has a credibility problem. She is a financial reporter, someone who embraces, in her own words, “smashmouth investigative journalism” in the world of money. She’s quick to point out the shortcomings of others in the financial world, however she hides behind her cloak of relative anonymity in her personal life (after all, who would go prying into her life?), and there are some interesting details there. Would it surprise you to know that she once was charged with a felony for writing fraudulent checks in excess of $1,000? Or that she has had several tax liens placed on her at one time or another? Or that she was evicted from her rental place on Locust Street in Norwalk, Conn.? We have the documentation. Kind of a double standard at work here, don’t you think?

Teri Buhl, Trashmouth Investigative Reporter

Teri Buhl calls herself a “smashmouth” investigative journalist on her website. More like trashmouth it seems to me. Trashing a minor – the 17-year-old daughter of the man she was dating at the time – doesn’t seem like the kind of thing a “professional” or a “smashmouth” investigative journalist should do. Yet that’s what she did. She published parts of this poor girl’s personal diary on Facebook in an attempt to shame her. The writings detailed underage drinking and sexual activity at a party the girl attended. Well, shame on you Teri Buhl! You got what you deserved for doing that: a 30-day prison sentence, one-year probation and an order from the judge to not interact with the victim or her family. You know, you’ve got to question just how “smashmouth” Trashmouth Teri Buhl is when she sticks her hand out on her website, practically begging for donations to support her investigative journalism cause (yes, she’s self-employed – not working as a staffer for an actual newspaper) with the two donation solicitation buttons on the upper right-hand side of her website. Just oozes class, don’t you think? Credibility is one of the primary tenets of journalism, and Trashmouth Teri Buhl is missing that component.

Teri Buhl’s Nation, the Nation of Donation

It’s Teri Buhl’s world, alright – at least it's Teri’s nation, the nation of donation. That’s right folks, step right up and donate to Teri, and you, too, might one day avoid being the focus or subject of this “professional” financial investigative journalist by donating to keeping her blog/website going. She’s a true cyber panhandler. Here’s a headline ripped right from her pages: “Thanks Readers: Your Donations fund Great Journalism.” Why you can donate with BitCoin, you can donate with PayPal. She makes it easy. Just think, you can fund her next foray into publishing pages of a minor’s personal diary that details underage drinking and sex; you can watch as she bounces checks and gets evicted from her place in Norwalk, Conn. You can help fund her stash so she can bail herself out from under state and federal tax liens that have been levied against her. Or maybe if you’re in financial trouble, you can donate enough to keep your name out of any reports by her. Now why wouldn’t you pitch in and fund quality, professional journalism like that? It's a complete mystery why anyone would think to fund this trashmouth "professional" financial journalist.

You know, I didn't really think of it in the way you put it, but I can see it now. She does sort of have her hand out the minute you land on her website.

I wanted to find out who she was since I heard about the Facebook thing she did with her boyfriend's daughter! Classy lady, right?

So I Googled her and found her website. Of course, no mention of her past discretions on, but
