Ripped Off

This company withheld security deposit money for both cleaning and painting which is prohibited by the Indiana Civil Rights Commission. In addition, the property in question has a common area. The commission regulations also state that locks must be on every outside door or doors that lead to a common area. The lock leading to the common area was broken for much of the Indiana University school year. Repeated requests to have this addressed went unheeded. When the concerns over charges and the common area were brought to the attention of the company, we were encouraged to file a small claims case. Many that rent from this company are students that don't live near the Bloomington area thus they just drop it and Tempo Properties comes out ahead. Bottom line, when renting from this company, be aware that extra charges will most likely be applied and the common areas will not be secured.
