Better if They didn't Show UP

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

Worst customer experience possible. This is my PC desktop machine.

The tech showed up. Spent a half an hour essentially going through menus and rebooting the machine. In other words he did nothing. It became obvious he had no idea what was wrong with the computer or how to fix it. Said he had to take it to the shop and it would be 4 to 5 days. His advise for restoration was the worst of possible solutions, and completely wrong.

Although he did no work I said I was keeping the machine but would pay for the service call. So he charges me for and hour instead of the half hour he was not working on my machine. $100 down the drain but a lesson learned. I will never use them again.

24 hours later, I have diagnosed the problem myself on the machine, and it is completely restored by myself personally. This is a horror story from Winnipeg, if you want to save some money, and get your machine repaired DO NOT call Tech2rescue.

Bad on all accounts

I was quite unsatisfied with the services from the technician. I had an appointment for Tuesday at 11 am.

At 11:30 he calls to say he cannot make it. We rebooked for Wednesday. I had a resolution issue with the computer that the technician diagnosed as a virus. After selling me a antivirus program and watching it install for 2 hours there was no change in resolution.

He said he would have to bring it back to the shop to uninstall Windows 10 and reinstall Win 8. to fix the problem. The next day he returned with no improvement in the problem. I showed him an email reply I received from online tech support that pointed the problem to the graphics card.

He loaded Radeon HD5450 which fixed the resolution in 5 minutes. Today I discovered he wiped out needed programs and files during his conversion to Win 8 He charged me close to $300.

for the programs and service. More than I expected to pay with unsatisfactory results.

The technician took it upon himself to contact me and refund me the labor charges (when back to full health), which I found incredibly amicable. I have still had to buy a new machine, as the problem was much more serious than a hard drive replacement, but the technician resolved the issue of some kind of refund which I appreciate greatly.

Original review Apr 20, 2017

Absolutely hands down the worst customer service I have ever experienced from a service oriented company. They were timely and their technician seemed capable professionally, albeit not very personable or communicative, but when my problem persisted after the initial visit and I called back to get further help they were completely rude and unprofessional in every aspect of communication.

When I then decided that instead of being shouted at down the phone by their incredibly abrupt call centre gentleman, I would rather get my money back and take my business elsewhere, the rudeness and lack of any definitive information or correspondence to email just increased. Correct me if I am wrong but should an employee illness/hospitalisation mean that I should just wait for them to contact me when they are better? Would the job not move to another available tech? I have sympathy as much as the next person but also have a business to run, as do you guys!

I was refused a refund despite the 'MONEY BACK GUARANTEE' sprawled all over their website because I was away for a week after they 'repaired' my computer, and apparently going away on a trip, coming back and then having the opportunity to try the machine and see it is not fixed, means its not their problem anymore cause its been more than three days.

Completely would not recommend. Most unprofessional dealings I've had in a long time, first time I've had to ask two people in the space of an hour not to shout in the midst of what was supposed to be client and service provider conversations!

Awesome service and support I received this week from Tech2rescue

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

After placing a call to Tech2Rescue, due to my home PC freezing up that was caused by corrupt files on the hard disk, my technician arrived within hours and successfully diagnosed the problem. He was first able to confirm all my data and files were recoverable which was a big relief. Within two days my technician returned with my desktop pc now containing a new hard drive more or less giving me a newly rebuilt PC. He patiently set up our user accounts and did not leave until he was confident I was in a position to continue loading our data files from the portable hard drive. My pc is up and running once again!

My Tech2rescue technician is extremely knowledgeable and provided excellent support in a friendly and reassuring way answering all of my questions. I would not hesitate to recommend Tech2Rescue and cannot say enough about the quality of service and support provided by Tech2rescue. What's more is I felt the work was completed for a very reasonable price!

Very pleased with the service.

This is to let you know how happy I am with my Tech2rescue technician as he was able to remove the viruses from my computer. He was very patient with me as I am computer illiterate and he will describe a problem such as ‘ you cannot put more memory in that computer as it would be like putting a V8 engine in a Volkswagon bug’.

He is quick to pinpoint a problem and is conscious about using time efficiently.

He will be coming back for a second time to help me out and I will strongly recommend him to other people who have computer issues.

Appreciate the great service from my Tech2rescue technician.

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

I'd like to publicly thank my Tech2rescue technician for being polite, courteous and respectful of the fact that my 100 year old mother (party tomorrow with the past few days busy spent making final preparations) frequently required my assistance and that I had to absent myself several times to tend to her care.

I had actually asked my technician about providing on-going support but that conversation was sidelined by my mother's needs.

My technician did a great job ridding my mother's computer of an awful virus. My technician was a very personable young man as well. I will certainly ask for him again if the need arises. Thanks Tech2rescue!

Computer screen black and mouse frozen

The first thing he tried to do was say my computer had to go to the shop. I said no.

The technician plugged the tower into tv and it worked. Plugged tower back into monitor and worked. My connections were loose. I had checked all that but apparently not well enough so it was my fault.

Since he was here I said do a quick clean up because he had come out. I was willing to pay for half an hour. $22 for 15 minutes x 2 = $44 + gst. OMG.

He was so slow it was painful to watch. He did 20 minutes of real work. He got to my place at 1:08 and then tried to say he got here at 12:45. No.

Well, he was charging for travel time. I said I was told by office, no travel time. He charged me while he talked to his friend or another employee. He charged me while he did his paperwork.

The total bill was $92. I was very annoyed so he dropped it to $70 which is still $20 too much. Thank goodness there was nothing wrong with my computer or the bill would have been hundreds of dollars. Unfortunately, I will not get them again because, while it is a good idea and convenient, it is not for single customers.

Maybe for a company who don't care if time and money are wasted.

Resolved: Tech 2 rescue bad customer service

Updated by user Jun 28, 2016

I would like to confirm that this review was the product of a miscommunication between myself and the company.

as the service was purely an estimate for the service and not the full service received.

the company was quick, friendly and efficient to reply and act on their estimate for my repair. As I did not move forward with the actual repair I cannot comment or review anything past the estimate they provided.

Original review Jun 27, 2016

I recently had their "Head Technician" come to my home to resolve an issue with the new windows update.

After being her for 10 mins I was left with an estimate of almost $500 for a new hard drive and the recommendation to not turn on the computer until it can be fixed.

After doing some of my own research on the error screen and seeing NO other people requiring to take the actions recommended to me I took my computer elsewhere.

Once the 2nd company turned on my computer it was magically working again.

I find it insulting and disgraceful and after showing this company the estimate made by tech 2 rescue they informed me that none of the recommended work was needed.

My recommendation don't waste your time with this company unless you want to be throwing money away!

Tech2Rescue is a scam. Absolutely Terrible Service. Be Warned!

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

Warning. Tech2rescue is a Fraudulent service company selling illegal copies of windows and using unqualified technicians that may destroy your computer.

Tech2Rescue promisses a "no fix no fee" policy, a $22 virus removal service and is a member of ACIRP.

Non of this is true. They do not mention the $50 travel fee. Nor do they refund your money when the technician fails. Furthermore, ACIRP is their own made-up organization to make customers believe they are professionals. Don't be fooled.

They were unable to remove the viruses from my computer so they reformatted my hard drive and reinstalled windows. They deleted all of my files (including the pictures of my new born which were still fully intact), installed an unlicensed copy of windows (which is now locked and useless) and charged me over $200 for it.

I spoke to the owner, Pete, a couple of times before he stopped answering or returning my phone calls. I was finally able to get him on the phone using my boyfriends cell and he simply hung up.

After doing some research, I found out that this has happened to many of their customers and want to warn others before they get ripped off.

I am giving them a last chance to refund my money (or install a legal copy of windows) before I go to the police.

Tech2rescue Poor Service

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

I have had a horrible experience with the company Tech2rescue, Vancouver division.

They recently sent a technician to set up and configure my home computer environment after a move.

After he was finished, the technician could not get anything running but said that the problem was

because my keyboard did not work. I disagreed with his diagnosis because everything worked before my

move, and I have enough knowledge that it did not seem reasonable that this was the problem.

However, I made the mistake of paying him because I felt a bit intimidated.

Because I really needed my system to work, I subsequently hired another company who were able to

easily diagnose the problem and fix the system. They then checked everything because they said that

the technician from Tech2rescue had wires connected wrong, so they wanted to make sure that

everything worked properly.

When I followed up with Tech2rescue, they at first refused to refund any of my money and argued that

their technician could not be wrong (even though he left me with a nonworking system). I subsequently

suggested that we split the fees 50-50 and call it a day. When I did not get any written response or

messages from the company, I followed up again. Today I spoke with their customer service rep. He indicated that they were turning everything over to their lawyer because I had threatened

them. What I had actually said to them, was that I had NOT made anything public yet and was hoping to

come to a reasonable agreement with their company first.

This has been the worst customer service nightmare that I have experienced in the past 30 years dealing

with many companies in the tech field. A simple disagreement over service levels has now turned into a

legal fiasco!
