This Altoona, PA-based towing company wanted $400 over agreed-on price and never showed up
Lol I stand corrected - apologies all around, as my upsetment has momentarily affected my clarity. I just double-checked, and the towing company who ultimately helped us out last night is called Burchfield Auto & Truck Sales.
Please note that the correct name of the towing company who ultimately came to our rescue is Burchland (not Burchfield)Towing - apologies for any confusion, as I listed the name inconsistently in this review.
And I'd called Team Tig earlier myself as well, since my insurance company initially didn't know what was causing the delay. I was so desperate I offered to pay them out of pocket if they would just agree to show up. And the Team Tig representative who took my call said he'd check with his boss to get permission to come, and once he got an answer, he'd call me back. Did he ever call me back?
No. That's what led me to call my insurance company again half an hour later - and that's when my insurance rep and I learned I'd need to cough up another $400 in order for Team Tig to help. We finally did get towed 2 hours later, and we're grateful to Sebastian and Burchland Towing for their courteous and kind response when we needed it the most.
I'm posting this complaint to protect anyone else who may find themselves stranded on a dark Pennsylvania highway at some point. Team Tig needs to stop spewing lies and price gouging desperate and fearful folks; they need to step up and serve stranded and scared motorists who depend on businesses like theirs when awful things happen on the road.
