Mislead, bad communication and financial burden

AI Highlights
  • Promised to reduce a 12k IRS debt to about 4k; I paid $4,250.
  • Three months later I paid nearly the full debt plus penalties; I had to request updates.

I hired Tax Rise to help resolve a 12,000 IRS tax debt after their representative assured me that my liability could likely be reduced to 4,000 or less. Based on these assurances, I paid them a fee of $4,250.

However, after three months, I was ultimately required to pay nearly the full original amount to the IRS, plus additional penalties. Throughout the process, I was the one reaching out to Tax Rise for updates about the IRS results, rather than receiving proactive communication from them. Communication was inconsistent, and my concerns were not adequately addressed.

When I expressed my dissatisfaction with the outcome and the process, I was told that no refund was possible, even though I was never clearly informed that their intervention might not reduce my debt at all. Tax Rise did not deliver the results they suggested were likely, nor did they provide the level of transparency, communication, and support I expected.

I would advise others to be very cautious before engaging their services.

Regarding your response below: No one from Tax Rise has tried to contact me without me responding.

I made an appointment with the Quality Assurance Team on August 13th, and after waiting 30 minutes for the scheduled call, I was offered a 500, then 750 refund from the $4,250 I paid, but only on the condition that I remove any negative review online. Tax Rise stated they could not do anything else for me.

Again, what you say and what you actually do is not the same. There is clearly no genuine interest in resolving this issue, and this experience has caused financial harm to me.

Loss:

Pros:
  • Will try to sell hope

  • Will not deliver what they offer

Check on refund

I'm not pissed. I just want to check on my refund. Someone was supposed to call me back after I canceled my contract, but I haven't heard from them.

Talking to a legal counsel involved to assist with this issue

Original review Jun 11, 2024

An advertisement was received in my email soliciting my business. I trusted their words and ended up paying upfront.

After 2 years, they made me agree to pay the entire liability and more. I would never recommend anyone to get scammed or robbed by them.

Loss:
$4800
Cons:
  • Ripoff and fraudulent practices

Preferred solution: Deliver product or service ordered

User's recommendation: Don’t use them. They are fraudulent and liabilities increased

Spam calls galore

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

Taxrise has been giving me MANY spam calls. They always call with a different number every time and I have threatened them many times, and I am getting sick of this.

User's recommendation: I recommend not using this and use any other service than this.
