Tax Tiger - Don't Use This Company

I initially contracted with Tax Tiger after hearing it advertised on Christian radio stations. I should have known better.

After paying an initial $1000 I was placed on a monthly payment plan. I've given them almost $5000 and have had.nothing done in two years except for them transferring my case to 4 different case managers.

They took my money and did nothing for it. Will be looking into a breach of contract lawsuit.t

I hired this company to file tax returns that had been previously unfiled. Not only did they prepare returns for the wrong state that I never lived in.

When I attempted to call them and discuss my returns and leave messages I would never get a return call. Instead they would reply in email.

When I attempted to leave a follow-up email requesting a phone call I still got no return call rather another email it said they would attempt to call when they could. Do not hire this company or anything.

April 2016, contacted Tax Tiger in Denver. They demanded $4,000 up front.

Paid them, and waited for any word from Tax Tiger. I believe in giving time, to finish a job, especially concerning IRS.. The next thing I knew, I received a notice of a lien put on my assets in May of 2017. I contacted Patricia Lanning of Tax Tiger Denver and said she would call back.

When she called back, she stated that the male employee she assign my case to, quit and when asked if he had finished my case he supposedly replied yes. That is when she told me that he had supposedly lied, and nothing was done with my case. She then supposedly began my case, and in November 2017 I received a notice that my case for a compromise was refused and that I should pay the IRS $800.00 a month and that would take to up to the year 2025-26, or 7-8 years. Of course I was upset, especially when I had to pay $4,000.00 up front to get absolutely nothing in return.

From that point on I was then told I was very 'rude' to one of the employees (ie Daughter Nancy Lanning) and when I told her I did not receive some papers in my email, she replied that I did not tell the truth. There is absolutely no reason why I would lie, It would only cause harm. Then the employee stated I was rude and she couldn't work with people like me. I used no vulgar or threats in my language.

Yes irate but not vulgar etc. I complained ti the BBB and the BBB replied that everything was my fault and that Tax Tiger did no wrong. I only surmised that Tax Tiger gave false erroneous answers to the BBB. The BBB stated that they spoke to a Tax Tiger rep.

in California, not Denver, I have then realized that I had just lost my $4,000 for absolutely no real reason except dishonesty. I have read countless kudos for Tax

Tiger reviews, and unfortunately I was far from being pleased.

I am still contemplating a lawsuit, but then it would cost additional money to the attorney for their services Just a warning. Believe half what you see and nothing what you hear.

Couldn't get a hold of a live person at anytime.

Was considering using Tax Tiger. Called the number provided on the web site at various times over the course of three days. Never once was answered despite multiple rings. Not even an answering machine.

I sense that the website is a national catch-all for clients that are then passed on to franchised agents operating under the Tax Tiger banner.

I did check several websites and what caused me unease was the responses on TrustPilot. It appears that the contributors have all only written a single review on the site. This could be indicative that these reviews are shills.

I guess that there will be no way to tell if Tax Tiger would have been a good resource to employ or not as I can't gamble on them with this less than auspicious start.

Moved on.

I Know you feel helpless and abused by the IRS but tax tiger is there to capitalize on your misfortune

Just stay away. Mr Finn is retired IRS.

No one in there is really a tax lawyer. Kathy has a picture on the wall of her dressed like a professional on a Christian TV news program. Do not be fooled. I know you want help.

This is not where you get it. They do not advocate for you, your protection is not there concern. I am not adding details because Kenny Finn is directly associated with the IRS and as we all know they target people, I am fearful of losing what little is left of my life. I do believe that is conflict of interest when the person you hire to represent you is getting their pension from the very organization you need protection from in the first place.

I work 2 jobs and 3 if you want to count motherhood. I recently needed stitches and can't afford the copay it would take to get them. Yes I just let my head bleed for 2 days. 2 week later I am feeling better.

I am only a little dizzy and nauseous all day.

I would say more but that would id me and I am really afraid of IRS and all who earn their lazy fat lives on tax payers backs. Good Luck everybody else!

It is very unfortunate when competitors can jump on a site like this and submit information as if it was from a client and they have no idea what they are talking about. That is how confident I am that no client of Tax Tiger wrote this review.

Not an ounce of the information listed in here is accurate or true, and can be verified as false fairly easy. For actual reviews of Tax Tiger that are verified, please view our BBB reviews or TrustPilot reviews.

I used Tax Tiger to help with an tax issue. I have to say if you truly want tax help.

DO NOT USE TAX TIGER. They are the worst help you can get. Your better off negotiating with the IRS on your own them using TAX TIGER. They are only interested in taking your money then actually helping you.

So if your interested in giving away your hard earned money then use TAX TIGER. If your interested in getting your tax issues taken care of then use someone else.

Please, let's be a little more truthful and accurate when you anonymously wish to write a review that will not get verified on sites like this. Tax Tiger will not accept your money and do nothing, or we would not be in business as long as we have (since 2002), nor would have have the documented savings of clients for over $121 Million dollars, nor would have have our BBB rating and reviews, or our TrustPilot verified reviews.

A few years back I was unfortunate enough to contact this very unscrupulous company for help with resolving back taxes. It was a horrible experience. They prey on desperate people, make threats about lawsuits, and do not produce results. Do NOT fall for their scam! In fact, do not fall for any companies of this type.

Tax resolution firms are a misnomer. They exact high fees from unassuming consumers and seldom resolve anything. These firms are a relatively recent development, and they are becoming a serious problem for consumers in our country.

Most of these outfits charge you big bucks to file an Offer in Compromise(OIC). This is something you can do yourself.

All you have to do is contact IRS and find out what you can do to satisfy your delinquent tax liability---payment arrangement, OIC, etc. There are many possibilities. You do NOT need an outside firm to represent you.

Don't be afraid to talk to the IRS. Request your case be transferred to a Revenue Officer in your area and then sit down and talk to him---preferably a "him."

Tax Tiger (Austin, TX)-Warning!! Do Not Do Business With

I am writing this to warn all potential clients (victims) of this so called A+ Christian Founding Tax Company. What a load of *** they pitched me. To Tell you just a bit about me and what happened. I was audited by the IRS for 3 years and they came to the conclusion that I owed $31000. For me I was sick to my stomach and wondering what to do, because I did not have the kind of money to pay them back. Long story short, a sought out legal advice and did my research. Unfortunately, not good enough research. I ended up falling in to the slick hands of a company called TAX TIGER. They pitched my beautifully and made the IRS look like big, bad bullies that I need protection from and that Tax Tiger, a Christian backed and founded company was the right ones to stand up to the IRS. I eventually felt desperate and decided to agree to a paymet plan which would initially total $2800 for them to represent me in hopefully reducing the amount and taking care of everything. After a bunch of work I had to do, to present to this company I started to get the feeling that I was getting the run around. I couldnt put my finger on it, but it didn't seem right. After several weeks, i then got the phone call from a top attourney for their firm (probably B.S.), that told me that I would be a prime candidate for an Offer and Compromise and that he would probably get the debt I owe to IRS reduced to $7500 from $30000. I was overwhelmed with joy. He said , it would take a lot of paper work more to do this procedure and Tax Tiger would need more $$. i ended up agreeing to an additional $1850 even though that was alot, he said it was better than owing over $30000 to IRS. I asked him repeatedly what are the chances of this being reduced to that amount and he said, about 98% good chance. Sweet, lets do it. With in a few weeks I hear from IRS, that this was denied. LOL Figures, I should of know when they started of theirs sales pitch with, "we are a Christian founded company". Just for the record I am a Christian and this touched me, but should of know better when a law firm dealing with taxes uses this to win me over.

Any how, a very long story short, after asking for my money back and saying this is bs i gave up on them. I called the IRS myself and they said to me, "all of those supposedly legit tax lawyers out their bad mouth us and make us look evil, most of them have the most complaints and are getting turned over to the attorney general and BBB. I ended up dealing with the IRS, I redid another OFFER and Compromise with the IRS, they walked me threw the paperwork, told me how to do it all. IT was so easy! It literally took me about 1 hour to finish it and the I sent it in. And by the way, it cost me $1.35 for postage hahah. Guess what, final result, the IRS settled for a total of $1500 and giving me several months to pay it back.

So just as a big warning to all, dont fall in my shoes. Just call the IRS unless you know without a shadow of a doubt who the company really is that you are dealing with.

This is Tax Tigers Website: http://www.tax-tiger.com/

By the way, They list on the BBB they are A+, however it is for their subsidary companies in California, NOT Austin, Texas. They are Scammers , trust me when I tell you this! I left out alot of the other shady things they said to me and did, so I could keep this semi short

Take care!!!

Thank you soooo much. I was getting ready to call them.

I got scammed by RBC Law Center. Stay clear of these guys.

They are supposed to be lawyers to assist with mortgages and modifications. They scammed me out of $5000!

Tax Tigers is a bunch of *** bags that just rip people off! From my research about 4 out of 100 get an Offer in compromise accepted.

But Tax Tigers will not tell you that, they will just keep ripping off people to line their pockets with your hard earned dollars.

Watch out for that Kathy Hill she has no care for you just how much money she can take from you! Beware!

First of all, whomever you are (competitor more than likely), you were not scammed by us or anyone associated with Tax Tiger, I can assure you of that, otherwise we would have absolutely resolved it with you in a satisfactory manner, or you would have filed a legitimate complaint with the BBB and we would have addressed it there. To post on sites like this in an attempt to bash an ethical and results oriented company, while operating under an anonymous name does not lend to the credibility of this post.

Secondly, I would place our offer in compromise acceptance rate and settlement percentages up against anyone in this industry and prevail. Our acceptance rate is better than 85%, reason being we only submit offers that our valid, not just because someone paid us to submit it. And of the small percentage that is not accepted, it is primarily because of clients not being truthful, or clients not complying with IRS deadlines.

Thirdly, you are mistaken by saying that we have no care for our clients, but rather only how much money we can take. You obviously have not read the testimonials on our website, all of which are from client emails and/or letters, nor have you dealt with us.

Lastly, to the post below this one from a person named "Roni", yes the founder of Tax Tiger used to work for that company long ago. It was the practices of that company that convicted her to change this industry and actually help people by doing the work and getting results. To compare or link her in any other way is absurd, and you obviously do not know her, or have not heard her story, which I invite you to read on our website. One true statement below, tax companies that promote offer in compromise's without legit tax preparation and a complete overview of the client's situation will certainly fail, just look at the companies we have been waiting for years to fall, JK Harris, Tax Masters, and the law office mentioned below. All of them did business the wrong way, their focus was money and no help. We are the opposite, and we relish in hope we return to people.

Guest

The owner worked for Roni Deutch , she was Roni`s top sales girl, now Greg Flahive has oped New Hope Tax in folsom , he was Roni`s right hand man and just raided with 40 armed state police officers and arrested for mortgage fraud , tax companys promising pennys on dollar with out legit tax prep and honest view of a clients problem will fail

Guest

Where did you get the IRS application for the OIC? Do they send it to you?

Thanks

Antonio,

First, we are absolutely an ethical company operating under values you rarely find in our industry, and regardless of your need to vent and throw mud, we will not. We have thousands of successful resolutions with no complaints. What we will do is explain a few of the issues you failed to make people aware of when you posted your concerns rather than voice them to us.

We are sorry to hear that you feel the way you do, but you clearly omitted a few facts that certainly could have resolved your issue before ever getting to this point. First, there are no “victims” of Tax Tiger, and had you called and voiced your concern with the owner of our Austin office, I can assure you that your problem would have been addressed in a completely satisfactory way, and in your favor. You could have also chosen to voice your complaint to the BBB, which would have verified all facts involved, and we still would have satisfied you beyond your requests. Problem is, you chose not to approach Tax Tiger with your issues, nor a credible resolution system like the BBB, but rather voice your complaint on a site that could care less if what you are saying is true or not.

I’ve reviewed all notes on your case in Austin, and there are obvious omissions. You called Tax Tiger and explained your situation, and that you were under audit for submitting fraudulent income/expense calculations on your tax returns for three years, which leads to a credibility issue to begin with. We explained your options, based on the income you provided to us during your financial analysis. You chose to hire us to negotiate a repayment term you could live with, as well as submit a penalty abatement request on the years under audit. Yes, you had to do a bit of work to collect the documentation that would substantiate the numbers you provided to us initially, which we later found out to be incorrect as well. You explained that your income varies, but that it was much lower right at this point. Upon re-evaluating your numbers again, we determined that you could be a candidate for an Offer in Compromise if your income was to stay the same, but that it would have to take into account future income and would amount to upwards of a $7000 settlement on a debt owed of about $30K. Even though at this point our original service to you have been completed, we chose to apply all prior service fees towards the fee for an Offer in Compromise should you chose to do that, even though we would lose money in the long run, our goal is to always have our clients best interest in mind. You then chose to hire Tax Tiger to submit an Offer in Compromise and agreed to the additional difference in fees for this service. Your offer was rejected, so we took the case to appeals (at no additional cost to you). Your offer was denied in appeals based on the IRS’s future income calculations. This was all explained to you along the way, and never once did you decide not to move forward, nor did you ever voice your concern to anyone after the rejection based on income. You were less than forthright with us about the income to begin with, and this had an obvious impact on the outcome of your resolution.

You stated that you submitted your own offer and it made it through the IRS system. It very well could have, especially since the IRS just issued new “future income calculations” on May 21st, 2012, (search the IRS website for “new flexible offer-in-compromise terms” and you will see this) but had this not been the case, you would NOT have had your “own” offer accepted, at least not if you provided accurate information. The acceptance of your own offer submission was merely based on the timing of such, and nothing else. We are glad that your offer was accepted and wish you well in the future.

Sincerely,

Tax Tiger
