Tax group center are thieves

Tax group center are thieves
I first contacted Tax Group Center in the Spring of 2021 after receiving several letters from the IRS owing a total of $12,266 for 2018 and 2019. Tax Group Center told me they could help me get my taxes reduced and taken care of for a fee of a few thousand dollars or even get my taxes reduced. There was never any discussions about charging $350 for me to fill out paperwork they sent me, $350 an hour to for them to call me on the phone, $350 an hour to send me an email, or I would have to pay to file taxes that I had already filed. I was charged twice $500 for 2022 taxes that I had already done along with 2020 and 2021 taxes that were not even part of either 2018 or 2019 taxes. I gave them money on three occasions the first two i had to go through their credit agency for a total of $11,800 at 16% interest, for which i thought was to pay the taxes I owed. February 2023 I was called on the phone asking for another $11,200 that I had to put on my credit card at 12.9% interest. July 19th 2023 I received a phone call from Tax Group Center stating my case was resolved and I owed the IRS $20,000This is when I started to attempt to get answers to why i paid them so much money. After repeated emails and phone calls that were never answered on Sept 7th 2023 I finally received a receipt for services that was filled with ridiculous charges and a statement that they owe me $13,430 of money that I over paid them and they will pay me back over a 12 month period at $1,119.16, I find that unacceptable. I still have not been answered why I paid so much, why it took 2 years to resolve, why I wasn't told about the fees upfront. Tax Group Center never had my best interest in mind when representing me.

Money taken, case never worked on, they are scammers

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
I paid $2000 to Tax Group Center in 2020. First off the representative lied to me on the phone about the process, to where I told Tax Group they better listen to that phone call because the rep told me I wouldnt have to pay a dime after the process. Then they assign a Lawyer to my account. The lawyer is Edward Santos. He did NOTHING to help to where I had them assign a different lawyer to my case. Then I was assigned Evan Grant. Evan Grant obviously doesnt know how to be a professional because the only time I talked with him was to have my sign the power of attorney papers. He never did anything with the IRS. Now its Feb 2022, the IRS still says I owe over $10k and nothing has been done on my behalf. I have asked for a refund since early December 2022 and have been getting the run around. Tax Group Center deserves to be out of business. I would hate to see anyone pay what I paid and get no help. Horrible company to deal with. Liars, and cheats that is all they are.

Jennifer Shapiro of Tax Group Center is a thief

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
I hate to leave this review because TGC helped me in the past. Fast forward to 2017. I hired them to resolve a new issue. I was contacted by Jennifer Shapiro. She was not particularly nice. But it was fine. I used them before, I had no reason to think the service had changed. I made two payments over two months totaling 1500.00 In the meantime I called and emailed repeatedly. Not one return call. By this time the IRS issued a wage garnishment order because no one from TGC had contacted them. To make a long story short. Jennifer Shapiro had the nerve to call me for a third payment. Not at all acknowledging my previous emails or phone calls. She hung up on me when I told her I hired another company. I called back and asked for a refund. She said I will receive zero refund and hung up again. I called again and she said I'm not entitled to a refund and to stop calling. How can I not be entitled to a refund when there were no services provided? I recorded all our conversations if anyone would like to hear how ridiculous this woman is. I actually don't blame TGC for this situation. I blame them for letting this woman work there. This review is for Jennifer Shapiro. Her assistant Kandace seems like a nice person. But Jennifer is doing a disservice to your company. I plan on forwarding these recordings to any entity that will listen. If this stops one person from signing up with TGC then I'll feel accomplished. Like I said, I hate to leave this review, but they have to be held responsible for having someone like Jennifer Shapiro on their payroll. And she thinks I won't get a refund.. That's just remedial.
