Tigerdirect - Gift Cards are USELESS

So basically as a christmas present my brother had got me a $50 gift card to tigerdirect.com which was nice considering there was one about 10 miles away from where I live. I was in the process of building a computer and I needed to buy a couple cables for my hard drives (SATA and power cables). went to the B&M location. they did not carry cables...eh it's alright I guess I can just order them online came out to around $10 online for all the cables. whatever it's a one time thing. kind of pricey but as long as they come promptly. gotta support america right? I waited for about 3 weeks. I got tired of waiting and decided to go on ebay and buy the cables through a chinese vendor. The cables came one week later....and funny enough the cables from tiger direct came AFTER the ones from the chinese vendor. Let's completely forget that I spend a total of $5 for 3 power and 2 SATA cables (with free shipping) as opposed to $10 for one of each. so I call up their office to complain. Waited close to 70 minutes for someone to actually take my call. I told them I wanted a full refund on my card (the leftover $40). The manager told me he would do that. cool waited 3 months and no refund....tried punching in the code on the card to my tigerdirect.com account and nothing pops up. No remaining balance...nada so basically there is a $40 card in thin air. I will be going to the B&M store to complain and get an actual refund. this is a horrible site to shop for. there are much better and cheaper places. It's hilarious that I get better customer satisfaction from a chinese vendor then from an established company. Hilarious. It's no wonder that americans buy products from China. They may break and may not be so reliable, but *** you'll get your product in a decent amount of time.

Time Warner Cable Automated Service

I tried to make an automated credit card payment with a card I have used for YEARS and as of last month it would not recognize it as a valid card. As a result I had to make a payment using a rep. with a charge of 5 dollars. Today when I called and was not able to make the payment I ended up with a horrible rep. Raquel told me..."there is nothing we can do to fix the system to take the card number and there are other options for payment available". I explained, it was a long term form of payment and wanted to continue to call in the payment. She then tried to tell me I needed to make a payment on the system for it to be recognized...huh??? She did waive the fee for this month, I bit the bullet last month. I told her I would like to speak to a supervisor..."No this is not a supervisory issue"...what???? After going back and forth and actually apologizing to her...that it was not her fault but it was an issue that I wanted to resolve she reluctantly said she would get the supervisor. As you may suspect I was put on hold until the phone call dropped....gasp. I called back did get in touch with two very nice reps who were going to turn over the issue to the IT...which is what I wanted Raquel to do in the first place so that the number could be added back into the system. I filed a complaint and hopefully Raquel will be more helpful in the future...if not I am a courteous unemployed individual and would love to have her job!!!!! Where do they get these people???? So, I was pissed but at least there are some professionals in the mix.

My tax refund was placed on the NetSpend card that I ordered through TurboTax. NetSpend placed a block on my account saying that they needed verification for who I was for security purposes. I don't even understand why the block was placed because I had used the card...

KMart and Sears Coupon Ripoff

I got a Happy Burthday email with a $10.00 off coupon if I spent $47.00 or more at KMart. it could be used online or print and use in the store. I went to KMart and spent $47.00. When I handed the cashier the coupon she scanned it and it deducted 1 cent! I said something and she said it would add $10.00 to my points. I argues that is NOT what the email says, and she called the manager over who agreed with the cashier. She refused to return the email but I had kept it at home. I then emailed customer service and complained, attching my email coupon to the complaint so they could see it. Mark from Sears customer service emailed me they were sorry and would send me $10.00 gift card to keep me as a customer. I waited 2 weeks, never got the card and emailed him AGAIN by replying to his email that stated he would send the gift card. I never got response or the gift card! I also got one fore Sears which I deleted and I threw out my KMart points card. I never got the $10.00 in points either! They have lost another customer because of this sham. Beware of birthday coupons!

InStyle Modern - SCAM

So, I purchase a piece of furniture online. Their website says my credit card is declined - that's not true, I am never declined. Anyway, after re-entering my info, it turns out that this site has charged my credit card FOUR TIMES!Ahem, that's $795 four times.I live chat via their website - they're not logged on. I email them. No response.I wait a day or two. The charges are still on my credit card.I call them. No answer.I am now on my phone with my credit card and we both call them. Some guy that sounds like he just woke up answers. He just states that since the card was declined, it's a temporary thing and will just disappear in a day or so. He was rude and pushing to get me off the phone. He didn't apologize, or even ask if I wanted to try to make the purchase again. I'll go somewhere else, and you should too.

Netspend or Turbo Tax?

Turbo Tax offered a debit card within their tax software that has NetSpend as the PREDECESSOR. They cancelled all usage of the card without notifying. Now I have a very large balance that I've been waiting for for months. Trying to get an answer as to when my balance will be refunded has cost me several hours via the telephone with NO ANSWERS as to when I'll be refunded and barely got my IF answered, which I won't believe until I get refunded. They claim too many refunds overloaded their system. In the day and age of the modern high-speed computer world, that is neither believable or acceptable.

Avasflowers - Ava's Flowers - scam, but delivered flowers

What a bizarre scam. I ordered flowers for my Mom's birthday, with a guaranteed delivery time of 4pm same day. They even allowed me to use the "discount code" listed on their website. By 4pm the order never came, and I realized something weird was going on when I never got my "email confirmation" they said would come. Talked to a person same day that said my order had gone to the flower shop, but that they couldn't say which flower shop was handling the order (another clue that I was talking to a big giant call center). Next day I talked to 5-6 people over the course of a couple hours, each time getting transferred to "someone who could help me" when in reality was just another person reading the same script. Now, the strange part. Once I found out it was a scam, I contacted my bank and cancelled the card that I ordered from. No transaction was pending, so nothing went through. HOWEVER, 3 days after the original order date, a version of the bouquet I ordered actually made it to my Mom. However, I didn't ever get charged for it. Too weird.

Picture Me Portrait Studio - Picture Me- Family Portrait and Club Membership

Stopped in at a Walmart, Houston, TX and Jason the Portrait Me sales rep sold me a $20.00 membership for my family and I to take pictures for 1 year. The deal was that we could come in a take pictures twice a month for a year and at each visit we would receive free portraits of our choice at every sitting. I began to try and schedule appointments but was never able to find any location that was not booked. Finally I go online to there website, and low and behold they have closed the store. I tried to call the the number listed on the card 281-591-0560 with Jason name listed and the answering machine states this machine is off. WoW I know it was only $20 but it was my $20 dollars that I worked for. I gave them my contact information so it's not like the can't get in touch with me to refund me my money. They did not provide the service the should return everyone's money. I'm just sitting here imagining all the people they scammed out of $20 or more its just sad who will represent the people?
