October, 2018. I bought a dresser and chest from Walmart - Cymax that advertised to be made with wood, it's not, it's made with sawdust board and it even looks used. The connecting holes are chipped out and some connection pegs are snapped. I bought a couch at the same...

Cymax Stores - Canadian shoppers beware of EXTRA FEES
Cymax Stores - Canadian shoppers beware of EXTRA FEES
CYMAX is a scam. They say their office is in Burnaby B.C. Canada and FREE SHIPPING. When you get to the check out the price magically doubles with shipping and duty charges. Stay away from these scammers. I was going to order a Serta Futon mattress $112.95 plus tax....

Cymax Stores - Order extremely delayed, wouldn't let me cancel order multiple times

Ordered a twin bed from Cymax mid-May, was not received in mid-July.I was unable to cancel my order successfully by phone, email or website, despite multiple tries through each avenue (it's rigged). Just Plain Ridiculous. Yet they charged me in May, when order originally placed, instead of when shipped. The customer service agent said to wait for a confirmation email regarding the cancellation, but it was inevitably never received (or sent). CAUTION. Cymax does not back up their products, and doesn't intend to; they have riduculously poor customer service, and their whole store is a scam. I buy online quite frequently, and this purchase rates as the absolute worse. Avoid Cymax at all costs!

Cymax Stores - Canadian Company is a hoax - rips off US customers

This company is from Canada and their primary objective is to ripoff US citizens. Their standard procedure is to delay in resolving any problems that you have with your order and if you need to return an item, even if it is defective or not what they advertised, you are responsible for paying to return it to Canada!!! The high shipping cost basically wipes out your refund. They use FedEx to ship and their international policy is that you can't reject delivery and return it on the company's account without the company's permission, so they got you. Also, they will charge you a ridiculous restocking fee even on unopened items, so again, any refund is wiped out. I bought three Nexera cabinets from Cymax stores that were described as lacquer on the company's website. Immediately after receiving the items, I opened one of the three boxes to discover that the advertised lacquer cabinet was cheap laminate that peels off (some of it was already peeling) and the back of the cabinet was actually made of cardboard. I went to the website under "My Account" as instructed and requested a return. I uploaded pictures to show the peeling parts. The company got back to me to say they needed pictures. Stall tactic number one. I told them that I had already uploaded pictures, but proceeded to email them the pictures again. I called to follow up again and the next message I received offered to give me a 10% off my items. I flatly declined. Over the next several weeks, they continuously delayed my request with promises to expedite saying that they needed to hear back from Nexera and that they were waiting for a response from the company. After 4 weeks and many phone calls/emails later, I finally heard back from Cymax Stores, and the following is their resolution. Basically, from the $344.85 I paid for the three cabinets, I would receive a refund of $30, plus I would be responsible for return shipping. There was no mention of the peeling laminate or the fact that the items were deceptively advertised on Cymax's website: "Hello, I am sorry to hear you are not happy with your purchase and would like to return your order. Our manufacturer has confirmed the item you received is correct therefore it will fall under our Standard Return Policy that is outlined on our website and agreed to at the time of purchase. If you would like to pursue a return, your refund will be the following: Original Purchase: $344.85 Restocking Fee: $120.69 Outgoing Shipping Fee: $ Return Shipping: (you will be responsible for this cost) Total Refund Due: $30.00 Please let us know how you wish to move forward. Thank you, Cymax Resolutions"
