Cathy confusion

To all of the Cathy confusion, there are two owners named Cathy. I have always dealt with Cathy M, as she is always in the store and gives inpecible customer service. Please refrain from confusing the two Cathy’s. While I have never met Cathy H, I don’t believe it is right to judge an establishment and all of its wonderful employees (Cathy M) for the behavior of an employee outside the store.

Not sure what to think

The customer service was ok. It was somewhat offset by the feeling of being lied too. There was a lack of options on display. Everything seemed to look the same. When asking about more options I was directed to catalogs. Which seemed no better then shopping online minus the comfort of doing it from home. The amount of religious memorabilia everywhere was uncomfortable and my final reason to shop elsewhere.

Love this place !

We have been buying from Sweet Dreams for about 30 years now and we love them ! Marcus, Kathy, David and the rest of the staff there have always given us first rate customer service. They are always smiling and patiently answer any questions we may have. We love the diverse selection of furniture they carry and whenever we go in (even if it's just to use the post office) we end up seeing something there we want to buy !! we highly recommend going in and checking it out ! Walk around the whole store.....there is so much in there you don't want to miss anything ! So far we have purchased a dining room table & chairs, a sectional couch, 2 pillowtop mattresses, 2 bed frames, a futon , a tempurpedic mattress and a double rocker....

Good customer service

Wonderful store

We are building a house in Maine and have bought several pieces from Sweet Dreams...so far. They have a wonderful selection of beautiful Amish made furniture which we love. Each visit we have been greeted by a smile and asked if we need help. If we say we prefer to "just look" there is no high pressure sales pitch to try to make us buy. Once we decide what we want, the sales staff (we have most often dealt with Tom) is attentive to our needs and makes the buying experience a pleasure. We will definitely buy more from this store.

Worst Furniture Purchase Ever!

We placed a substantial furniture purchase in June 2014. Currently, in late September 2016, our order is still not complete. It started with tables that we ordered that are custom made. We expected to wait several months, but had to contact the store repeatedly over months and months, and they finally delivered items in February 2016. That was the last we have heard from them. They blamed the delay solely on the man making the tables and took no responsibility for their lack of attention to detail. The furniture delivered to us had issues. The couch - which they had in their possession for several months prior to delivery - was missing two pillow covers. But they weren't aware of it because they didn't even look to see that the order was completed correctly. In addition, one of the tables has the wrong doors on it. We will never purchase from them again. I don't understand how they can treat their customers this way and stay in business.

Correction: We ordered the furniture in June, 2015

They told us 12 weeks for delivery. Took 8 months and lots of phone calls initiated by us.

Service was really good

I'm not sure what happened at that phone store but I've never experienced anything but great treatment any time I've been in the Sweet Dreams Furniture store. I guess people can have bad days but I guess things can be misunderstood, too. I've met Cathy Hedley in the store and she has always been extremely pleasant and considerate. Very happy with my purchases and there are plenty of good reviews on their Facebook page. Seems like a *** rap if you ask me, Lew Baines Durham, Maine

The Cathy you met in Sweet Dreams was most likely not Cathy Headley. I have shopped in Sweet Dreams a lot over the past year - furnishing a new home.

I have never met Cathy Headley. I have, however, always dealt with Cathy Mitchell.

She is extremely knowledgeable about all of the products and and super friendly. I do think it's too bad that the store is being judged based on one person having what was obviously an off day.


I agree with your thought of not judging the store and the quality and selection they offer based on someone having a 'bad' day at a cell phone store. I do think you have your 'Cathys' confused.

The Cathy you have met at Sweet Dreams is Cathy M not Cathy Headley. I have bought several items at Sweet Dreams and have always delt with Cathy M.

She is most helpful and knowledgeable. For as many times as I have been in there I have never met Cathy H.

Good customer service

Nothing but good service

I'm totally surprised by the poor personal 'attack' here on Cathy. I was in the store recently and her customer service was outstanding, polite and helpful. I actually also witnessed another customer thanking them for all they'd done with a recent sale. I made a purchase and all was pleasant, start to finish, nothing too much trouble. Think of all the places with poor customer service and then see the difference here. And, again, Cathy was far from the person described in the other review, very kind. I'd definitely shop here again, and will recommend friends. Go see for yourselves.

I have always had excellent service at Sweet Dreams. I believe there are two Cathy's.

One, Cathy M is always in the store. I have had many conversations with her - she is wonderful.

The other is Cathy H. From what I understand, she is not in the store very much.


Sweet Dreams furniture is outstanding. Cathy and the staff are very kind and excellent customer service.


Are the owners of Sweet Dreams aware that, the gentleman in their tv commercial, has a huge bulge in his pants?


My parents have had nothing but good things to say about Sweet Dreams. They have bought several pieces of furniture there - kitchen table, headboard and bedframe, and side tables.

Each piece has been top quality, and they said they never felt pressured to buy or followed around the store. Its why they went back to get more furniture over time - quality and service.


I would agree. I have purchased furniture at Sweet Dreams multiple time and Cathy has been outstanding! I have always had very good customer service from all of the employees there.

Sweet Dreams Furniture

I am writing in regards to Cathy Headley, an owner of Sweet Dreams Furniture in Brunswick Maine. I was completely disgusted by this woman and her actions. I witnessed her in a store in Brunswick, a cell phone store. This woman was in that store making a scene and belittling the Assistant Manager there. This woman was trying to return equipment that was outside of the normal peramiters and based on the interaction she seems to do this repetitively. She was told that due to the company policy she could return but there was a restocking fee. As a business owner she should be aware and respect policies that are put into place. Instead she began throwing figures in the air of how much money she is worth and began to call the manager there names. She truely made a scene and should be completely embarressed by her behavior. She needs to have lessons in class and I would never NEVER Recommend anyone to go to her establishment. SHe is a disgusting human being and needs some help.

I have been in Sweet Dreams twice now in two weeks. Both times I have been greeted and helped by pleasant sales people.

On both occasions there was a women working at the counter and talking on the phone or to her coworkers. She was condescending and rude! She spoke loudly! I really wanted to say something but decided it wasn't likely to help the situation.

I did like some of the furniture but I'm hesitant to go back. It is very uncomfortable as a customer to be present when this behavior is going on!


I hae shopped in Sweet Dreams for many years and have nothing but wonderful experiences. I find all the employees there to be courteous and helpful.

Some of you may not know that the store is family owned and there are two Cathys'. Cathy Headley and Catherine Mitchell. I have never met Ms. Headley but will shop with no one other than Catherine.

She is friendly, knoweldgeable and super nice.

Make sure you are talking about the right 'Cathy'.

Sweet Dreams carries great furniture at a reasonable price, and the customer service there is fantastic. Get over yourself. Oh and next time you publicly slam someone, try to spell the big words correctly.

Due to your *** review, I'm going to go buy something nice at Sweet Dreams today just because I can. Plus, maybe if I take Cathy to lunch she'll stick it to MY evil cell phone company too.


I have shopped and done business with these folks for many years......I have never had any problem with any of the staff...all are very courteous and helpful! Shame on you for attacking Cathy...she was not in her store to begin with..was she waiting on you?

I dropped off a package for ebay with prepaid shipping at their USPS facility which is located inside the store. Enclosed was a pair of hand seamers, which a person bought from me and need for work.

Sadly, all the person received was an empty package.

My intuition told me that day to go back in and retrieve the package and take it to the post office, who are trusted federal employees, instead. I will never take a package to this drop off facility, and I feel that if this Mattress store can not ensure proper delivery of packages, then they should forgo doing business as a USPS provider.


I once bought a mattress that they said they could deliver by friday when I was expecting company. Then after I paid they said oh well actually we won't be able to get it to you until the week after...


I am currently on 12 weeks from a promised 8-10 week delivery.


Hello, I actually know this lady very well and can vouch that this review is far from accurate. Cathy probably has the most Christian values and morals of anyone I know. I witnessed her buying groceries for a complete stranger, in a most humble manner.


I think that business owners are some of the worst customers. They supposedly know the ins and outs of the trade, so they try to impress others with their knowledge.

But truly they are impressing no one but themselves.

And some really do think that the amount of money they make or worth makes them better than others. This woman should be shown a video of herself.
