Seriously ridiculous and absurd and unacceptable non service.

I have tried to get service from Super Cheap Auto about 10 times, but I can't. Maybe you can help, or maybe your legal department can.

Here's where the story is at. A payment was made via a corporate credit card for goods valued at $1922 over the phone on 12.6.

Was told a faultty battery could not be returned

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

Firstly, I would like to say, I am still in shock by how I was treated today, by the staff at the Parkes Supercheap Auto store 12/10/23. After twenty-five years, of never being questioned, when returning faulty good, and I must say, so few I have, even then.

And only the once, (as my battery was all but thrown out of the store,), since the Parks store had open. It has all ways been so reassuring, the way all had treated me when doing so though. The Orange store by far the friendliest I have ever uncounted. Just even with all not so friendly, over in Parks.

That one time, it was a; Will that be a replacement, or cash sir? And that all with a smile. No today, all was hidden from me, and I made to feel as I was stealing from them, by trying to have a very faulty Battery replace. The Battery, was reading as it had had a low charge, a bit of green, but the Charge needed was showing, when I had bought it.

Just when getting all back, I was though conserved to see the 12.4v, on my multimeter. I had though felt, as why it was on special, so had placed in my battery box, and with solar panel attached began charging it. It had sat on the 12.8 at days end, just I was concerned to see 12.5 when reattaching all for the next day. And of course without use.

It had slowly increased, till holding the 12.7, and sat on that for a few days. Seven days later, and showing the 12.8v, was the first time I had tried to use it though, as I had bought a 100 ah Glass Matt Gem Battery, the Dc-12 100AGM XTM battery, to see how it had compared to, the Century N70T 102AH lead acid battery. As already having a very old Sealed Lead Acid, slightly failing now, but dated 7/07/10, as the time of manufactory, it is ageing, just dose still keep my 12v Bushmans Fridge, going all night. And as I can use the AGM battery for all other power, as then letting the faulty Century Lead Acid one sock up all, for as long as I have.

Twice a week, though, I would try running my lap top on it, and within a few minutes, it would drop to a reading, of 12.3v, so would then be back socking up all the change it could, and wasting a perfectly good solar panel for that, as every day. Like most homeless people, I do have a mental illness. Mine is more to dealing with people, as the anxiety that does come with it. I had organised on three occasions to go the roughly 60k in to Parkes, to see about exchanging, said faulty battery.

Just as I do have issues. Well it was yesterday, the 12/10/2023, that I finally had got in. Just with being told, even if the battery was flat, they could put it on a charger, and if the device, (they had not let me check, just I had known it would read the 12.6v or above), had shown the battery was okay, well I would still not get a replacement Well I had then lost it a bit, as I have an old car battery that does have a good green glow, and as is always recharged, does hold 12.6 -7v, as power a few LED lights. Just try and start a car with it.

Well Id say many, if any had bought batteries back, and if then told as I was. Would have still needed a jumpstart, to get home.No. Even batteries with dead cells, can be charged. As show a good reading when straight off a charger.

Hold one though? Look I am sure you at Supercheap Auto are not so mean, as to put any one through just that. Why I had found it so strange I was even told all as I was. I have bought so much though the Parkes, as other Supercheap Auto Store, and still do have so much of, as regularly do use it.

All my oil for years, as oil and air filters. Camping gear as Tools, Jacks, Generators, as lights for trailers and so, so much more. Thousands I would have spent, and over maybe ten or so of your out lets.Batteries alone, I would say twenty at least, not always Century, but mostly. Car as Marine and deep Cycle.

I had two Supercheap Own Brand Batterys, that had lasted over six years. All had laughed, that I had even trusted them enough to buy them. I the last laugh there, as $40- each, they were a bargain! Well, make up for me losing the $250- with this faulty one, you maybe chuckling out just now.

Well I am to hurt, with how all that had played out there. Stunned! I spent a large part of my pension on the two, but with my old one to fail sooner or later. I had little choice.

Some say we are homeless, as Alcoholic, or drug addicts. Well some. Me it is I do have anxiety with dealing with people. The Abba Fest, is on in the town I do hang about this weekend.

That old homeless bloke, you may see after 11 or 12 at night, leaking about the town, (if you are to attend), will be me. Look for the shopping bags, I do carry my belongings in, when not asleep. No, I do get a pension. And had gone without.

As I will with the half of the power, I had though this one Battery would see me with. I had though done all so right. Taken so much care with all, as trying to see if I could get that faulty battery to come good. I had wanted to see how Lead acid compare to the Sealed, as AGM.

Instead, I had paid $250- for something a 5 to 6-year-old Car battery, which cannot even start a car, can still out preform. Just one is supposed to be a 102 AH Deep Cycle Battery.Brand new? Well I am doubting I had bought one that had not been used, as I do know Century do make a Bdy good Battery. Owned so many, and never had a single problem, till now.

In closing, well the way I was treated, I doubt you have Security Cameras set up in that store. But if so, then do review all, from between the 10 and 11AM 12/10/2023, in your Parkes store. Not saying I had not gotten upset. But was already way out of my comfort zone.

Just I still cant believe you would not except the return of a faulty item. Century, I will have an independent party, now see to it they do get to look the Battery over. Your Parkes store still may find out just how wrongly they had acted then. But at just the 21 days from buying it.

I had though the retail Act, had covered me. And why Department of Fair Trading will also be informed. If that is what they are still called. Very hurt.

Still a little agree yes, but still ever so shocked, Supercheap, would sink so low! 62 now, so who know how much I would have gotten to spend. Just if not addressed, do forgive me, if I dont spend the thousands more with you guys, I would have. Pretty hurt just now.

Well extremely! Thanks for your time.

Just some old homeless guy after all, I guess? Steve.

Online purchase

I purchased online and my loyalty was added but when I went to pay it wouldnt accept my Visa card. Originally I had $130.00 loyalty when I checked online I had $64.00.

When it accepted my payment it didnt deduct my loyalty money. I find this very unacceptable with online purchases. I have been charged the retail amount.

I want to find out where all my loyalty points went. Otherwise I will contact fair trading..Cheers Colin
