Super Dog - Appointment Review from Bellevue, Washington

I called asking for help with my new puppy I was going to get. He took it on himself to make the appointment the day after I was to get my puppy who is only 8 weeks old. I told him I did not have my schedule and would let him know if that would be okay. I found that I have to have a medical procedure, but told him that I was unable to take that appointment and we would have to reschedule. When I went to reschedule he had emailed me I'm sorry but I have decided since you cancelled I am no longer interested. I think the guy is a *** arrogant, he puts other trainers down because of their pictures. All his pictures are outdated, & I found that ar mostly of his home, a few dogs in front of his Porsche in the garage, his wife with a couple dogs, and swimming pool and all his material things. No wonder what the prices he charges, but I did not make an appointment with him he made the appointment and under no circumstances did I deserve to be treated that way.

From what other says you were lucky! he is said to be a very bad trainer and the chances for getting your dog destroyed would have been very likely..

so say thank you to your guardian angels ;) And NO - you did not deserve to be treated like that..

Also - a new puppy needs peace and quiet to settle in for ast least a week before anyone does anything to it.. he sounds like an ***!!

This is typical of the anonymous defamation of my character. The person never hired me, resides in a different state, and attempts to define me in the worst possible light with lies.

I drive a Ford F150 truck not a Porsche, and there are tons of new photos and videos on my website www.Superdog.com and on my Facebook page www.facebook.com/SuperdogInc

Abusive

Service Dog School of America - Abusive

I wrote to Super Dog with interest in getting my dog trained to be a service animal for both myself and my son. I am 29, a disabled veteran with joint and mental health issues, and my son also has severe anxiety. This is the response I received from Dave Barron.

(also attached photo of the email)

Tanya,

All your problems are make-believe. Everyone is OCD and has Osteoarthritis. What doctors appointments, for what? Your wasting your time going down the Mental Health road. Pull yourself up by your bootstraps and do and act like normal people now. For Christ's sake, you child caught your HYSTERIA and you are making him sick. You need to act well for the sake of your child. Take medicines if you are depressed, but quit making your problem everyone else's. I feel sorry for your child, your husband and the dog. You need to cut the *** now though and quit mutilating yourself INTENTIONALLY TO GET ATTENTION and GARNER SYMPATHY.

Your diagnosis is you have FACTITIOUS DISORDER and are MALINGERING.

My wife told me not to respond and delete your email. I am here to help people and dogs though. Write me a letter back without the story that you never tell anyone ever again, and I will reconsider helping you with your dog. Thank you.

David Baron

www.Superdog.com

P.S. My wife has breast cancer and is going to have a double mastectomy next week. That is a real problem. You have no problems. All your problems do not exist. If you have mental issues, read this letter over and over until you get it. I am not mad at you. I am trying to help you the best I can. The people that tell you that you are sick are enemies and want to hurt you and your child. They want you to be sick and utterly *** miserable. I say there is nothing wrong with you anymore and you can move on now and be happy now. Pursue your dreams, love, laugh, take pictures, relax, create something beautiful. Make yourself the life you want. Rise to the challenge of being well for your child. Again, you need to quit talking crazy or they might take away your child. That is what happens. They take the children away from crazy people so they do not harm them with their crazy act to get attention and sympathy.

Read this letter over and over again.

I hope you get help and are not hurting yourself or your child. You owe Mr. Baron an apology.

Wow! Thank you for posting this.

After reading this letter, there is absolutely no way that I would contact this company.

For some people, it takes so much courage to just ask for help, but this response is what every person fears. I am so sorry to have read this.

Dave CEO of Superdog is a business scam and he is dangerous

Just look him up on the BBB, Yelp and Angie's list if this is not enough! David Baron's defenses and statements of having a A+ rating with the BBB are outright lies and so easy to prove by just looking his business up on the BBB site. This man is now threatening me for reporting him to the BBB and he is using insane slander in his responses to my simply stating the truth of how he abused my dogs as well as me. I forwarded his threats and extremely unprofessional and slanderous emails to and about me to the BBB and he responded publically to them by stating I was a psychiatric patient on drugs and had altered the emails I forwarded - an attack on me that is simply made up to threaten and intimadate me as well as discredit my reviews on him. Since all the emails can be proven authentic, he must be in his own delusional world, but none the less after 5 hours with him and seeing how he treated my dogs and me I feel he is not only a scam artist for money but more so a dangerous unstable person that goes far beyond just trying to rip everyone off for money. He should never be allowed to deal with the public as a business and I feel he is very threatening to me and women and defenless dogs. I only feel wrong in all this for having taken my dogs to him for a second lesson since they started shaking around him in the first 15 min he had them - I told him to stop the harshness after the first lesson and thought he would only to find the second lesson was even harsher with increasing personal attacks aimed at me since then. I am an older women who went alone the first time with my very small dogs...bad situation, but the second time I had a witness to his abbarent and agressive behaviour. I have also had to retain and attorney to protect myself (considered a police report and restaining order) as well as hold him responsible for the slander and extreme unprofessional violation of basic business ethics.

Conceited and abusive

In our initial email contact I told him I had two Rottweilers. My first red flag should have been when I met him the frist time and he said Rotties were the only dog he was afraid of. His initial meet and greet is disarming. It is after you pay a *** load of money- non refundable and up front- that his true teaching style comes out. He will off-handed say- Well- I have been known to pitch a water bowl or chain collar at a dog to get their attention and stated several other openly abusive training techniques. He showed absolute disdain for my male and openly preferred my female. I repeatedly told him my biggest issue was my male jumping on me and he refused to address it until we had met his other training expectations. After the second visit I was blatently told- "We can't move forward with any other training until you get Dante to stop pushing you around, call me when you are ready to come back". That was my clue to NEVER go back. Now I am out $1,200.00 and still searching for the REAL super-dog trainer. Valerie

SO GLAD HE HUNG UP ON ME.

I have a 5 year old female Rottweiler that has some past issues we are working out.

(She is a rescue dog that was beaten badly in the past).

Sent a long explanation about her needs and issues at this time. He called me this morning and asked if I wanted to sign her up. We talked for a few minutes and I told him I was going to do a little research before giving him my credit card for $1,200.00 and that I would call him this evening to confirm.

-- I am 26 years old and own my home. That kind of money isn't something I like to throw around.

He became upset and said he would no longer work with my dog because I couldn't "pull the trigger" on the payment and commit to his class (after talking for 5 minutes)...then hung up on me. I proceeded to send him a picture of me flipping him off and voicing my opinion of his complete lack of respect. (He wrote back and said "Sorry, the conversation was over".

This guy is the worst business man I have ever spoken to. So sorry for any of his future clients.

Good luck on your search. I am looking at A.L.L.

dog training right now.

David Baron - Super Dog Roseville Ranch

David Baron from superodg.com killed our dog and will not give back our money for training or the cost of our dog. His website says he doesnt use any choke chains but the vet said that the bruise on our poor dog's neck is clearly from being hung. He kept saying to look at all the dogs' faces on his website and look at his own dogs and that's why we went with him and we are now so sorry. Our poor dog just needed obedience. Not a pit bull but just labradoodle. My kids are crying day and night and all because of our poor decision. Please, please watch out for this monster.

It isn't like you can call this person and verify anything.

In response, a good chunk of my business is from the law enforcement, medical and legal communities. No one has better references than I do. I have an A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau. I have never been sued by a customer, much less had a complaint like this PHONY, ANONYMOUS person claims.

America used to be the place where you were entitled to confront you accusers.

How would you like some anonymous person trying to hatefully destroy your livelihood by saying horrible things about you personally----and there was no way to confront the person or call your accuser's own integrity into question?

Dog Trainer

Superdog is the biggest fraud in dog training out there. Whether its the promise of training your dog or you becoming a dog trainer with Superdog, The owners only want your money. Stay far far away from this company and the owner of Superdog because if you get in too deep you'll also be harnessed by the owner. Not only was I promised good business with dog training once I bought into the franchise I was also told I needed to move to a bigger city in order to get good clientele. Not 2 months after I moved the owner, David Baron, stated that since I was unable to pay him my monthly franchise dues he is taking me completely off all and any advertising with Superdog. This was after the promise of if I moved I'd make money with the dog training. I'm sure it would have happened if David wouldn't have kicked me to the curb. I would have NEVER moved had I known I was going to be kicked to the side just because I was just barely starting out in a new big city that I spent every dime I had getting to because I was so sure the dog training was goin to work because of all the promises I have been made. I didn't pay my franchise dues not because I didn't want to but because I had no extra money. And I made this perfectly clear to David and the office staff at Superdog that I would have money to pay Superdog until I was getting a good clientele. I never got that because I was counting on Superdog's advertisement. I had and have no extra cash to advertise myself. I bought into Superdog for that very reason. I thought it was sure thing to help me get started with dog training and in return I lost everything I had saved and am struggling to even feed myself and pay for rent.

David from Superdog is a good trainer. So many people are weak with their dogs just like their kids.

So many people spoil and give their kids everything and their kids sass them and can't even manage to clean their rooms or help in the yard without expecting something if they can get off the couch to begin with. Now we are worried about hurting our dogs feelings? Give me a break!

Does the alpha in the dog pack go and process feelings when he or she bites a dog for not following the rules? Lol

I have two Goldendoodles and so far Dave at Superdog has been great. My dogs are very intelligent.

My female year and a half old needs an experienced one one one trainer not Wall Mart style discount cheap training. Treat training only taught her to manipulate. She figured out how to be the leader. So incredibly smart and stubborn.

Never had a dog like this. David is helping me take charge and be the leader and spent 3 hours with me the first day. Macey knew he meant business right away. I was impressed.

My husband said he does not want a dog that doesn't listen. I had to do something. That's why so many dogs are euthanized. Macey is loved and its worth the investment for me to not be angry and pulling my hair out.

We are becoming close again! One dog life improved and saved!

Superdog never fired me. I quit long ago.

But this is only words. They pretty much mean nothing.

Unless you're trying to defend something you really aren't. Who cares what reviews you get if your intentions are true.

Guest

I still work at PetSmart and they LOVE me there. Obviously this Superdog is trying to save face and its too late.

Kaileah Icn

We weren't a fraud when she worked for us, just afterward. We allowed her to go over three years without paying commission.

She was fired ENTIRELY because of references to illegal drugs on her Facebook page and for no other reason.

After she worked for us, PetSmart fired her for the exact same reason. :upset

Kaileah Icn

The person was fired for posting on Facebook references to illegal drugs. After she worked for us, she was fired at PetSmart for the same reason.

How weak. You never have anything other than "illegal drugs" and psychosis to prove that you're in the right.

Scam artistry at it's worst.

Funny how there's nothing posted for your company two years later. Sad.

Superdog Dave threatening and scary

I chose to decline his services based on the negative reviews and told the woman so that I followed up with. Dave called me and threatened me and I had to call the police out of fear for my safety. This is not just a case of a poorly run business. This is frightening behavior. Dave insists that all these reviews are fake. An easy way to prove that to someone is give a list of numbers from satisfied customers to call. If the happy customers would write positive reviews for him it would balance it out. I'm frightened for my family's safety after simply calling for information about a dog trainer.

Some people are scared away by anonymous negative reviews online. In my defense, Superdog has an "A" rating with the Better Business Bureau and I have, in addition to local police officers, medical doctors, lawyers, nurses, business owners, college professors and people like that who can tell you that they were treated fairly and were very satisfied with my business and me.

I cannot control what jealous competitors and anonymous crackpots write online who never even used my business.

Guest

You would think that somebody who is trying to fix their damaged reputation would be especially kind to potential customers. If a customer says they have concerns about negative reviews, instead of calling them a "b*&ch" and terrifying them, maybe you would do something like explain the situation calmly. Provide that document to show that you have been harassed. Provide a list of references from happy customers who will help you fix the internet mess concerning your business. Loyal customers who provide their phone number as a reference could win business for you. I would have listened to any and all of that if you had acted professionally and not made me fear for my safety. Threatening to use someone's phone number to find their address and come after them isn't the way to fix your business's reputation. I think you owe me an apology.

Maybe you are frustrated that these reviews are affecting your business, but your actions with me didn't help. I read the reviews and they scared me. Can you blame a woman for being concerned? I wish you well David. If people do what is right in the face of wrong it will always shine through. Next time somebody asks you about the reviews handle it with grace and WIN THEM OVER. Don't chase them away and scare them out of your frustration and anger with what that other guy has done. If you do that, he wins again and again and again. Every time you lose your temper, he wins. Think about that.

I have no idea why I even felt compelled to write this because I never even heard of you until the past few days when I innocently called for an estimate. You've done so much to optimize your website and market yourself. You can turn all of it around if you choose to. Good luck.

Super-Dog Technique Borders on Animal Abuse

First, I am a retired 73 year old man who has no connection with any competitive animal training organization as David Baron would like viewers of negative statements to believe. Perhaps he has provided input to the positive ones. The door swings both ways. In his defense, Mr. Baron has had excellent results in making dogs obedient. My wife and I learned quite a bit from his instructions and techniques, and Roxy (our German shepherd) is much more obedient as a result of Mr. Baron's training. Roxy's main areas of concern are barking at other dogs she sees and her fascination to chase squirrels at the cost of some destruction to furniture and other items on her way to get at the animal. She is not vicious and only wants to play and chase. My problem is with Mr. Baron's techniques. He forces the dog into submission to his/her master's "Alpha" position. There are no rewards and little "love" shown. He stated to us that he does not use pinch collars or electric/sound devices, however a large pinch collar was the first item he recommended we purchase. During our last visit, he recommended a $400 electric collar to make Roxy totally obedient. My wife did the majority of the training and has severe arthritis. It was very difficult, if not impossible, for her to heel Roxy four (4) feet behind her which was one of the requirements in his technique of dominance training. To prove his point he put several dogs including the large brown mastiff in a pen and had my wife take Roxy over to them. The mastiff attacked Roxy through the chain link fence making Roxy respond and injuring my wife's shoulder. His response was to reiterate the dog must learn the four foot rule, no matter what. My wife again objected and his response was "you don't want me to kiss your ***, do you"? At this point my wife and I agreed that training was over and we would never see any rebate of the $1200 fee he charged. David Baron treats women and animals as "the lesser vessel" and should not have a business that deals with the public. His last words to us as he re-entered his house were "get off my property, now". What a way to do business, I can now see why he had a falling out with the Better Business Bureau. Would I ever go back to him, absolutely not. Would I recommend him to any one, absolutely not. His handling of dogs harbor on animal abuse and his treatment of "man's best friend" is despicable. It is my opinion that the only thing he loves is himself. I guess he would totally become unglued if he knew that Roxy has the choice to sleep on a queen size TempurPedic bed in the guest room, family room sofa, or her bed on the floor next to me. Cowards have a new persona and its name is anonymity.

In the past a person who started *** vicious gossip did eventually have to face the consequences. They either had to back up what was said or apologize for starting the lies.

No more! We now live in an age where cowards cloak themselves in digital anonymity as they conduct monstrous smear campaigns across the World Wide Web - hurting not only the victims but also destroying our sense of trust, which is important to us all; both online and off. The effects of this dangerous partaking can range from humiliation to unemployment to extreme emotional distress. Meanwhile, the cowards sitting at their keyboards are rarely held accountable.

Woodrow T. Wilson once said, “I have always been among those who believed that the greatest freedom of speech was the greatest safety, because if a man is a fool, the best thing to do is to encourage him to advertise the fact by speaking.”

Read more: The Williamson Daily News - The coward and the keyboard

Harassment is, of course, nothing new and free speech still trumps bad taste. However, the consequences for online harassment are virtually nonexistent. Smear someone in a traditional media outlet, like this newspaper and you will more than likely end up in court.

In 1996, Congress passed a law establishing basic regulations specifically for the Internet that prevents hosts of these Web sites from being held responsible for anything others post on their sites. In other words, the law says the kind of calumny that would get the Daily News sued is fair game on Topix and others like it.

These sites are popular because people love gossip. It is and has always been an ugly fact of life. But, what happens when rumors about you or someone you love are posted on the Internet by an anonymous source for the whole world to see? Behind the screen of anonymity, some cowards are using Topix and other such sites, to selfishly satisfy personal vendettas with no fear of consequences.

The Internet has drastically changed the impact of gossip. Rumors that used to be enclosed within a relatively narrow social world are now advertised to a much wider audience with fewer resources to get to the truth. Even a completely false allegation can last forever online.

It is the characterization of adolescence, home to cowards and ***, and symbolizes some of the very worst of what the Internet has to offer. Hiding behind anonymity while attacking another, is childish and irresponsible behavior. If you are going to trash or demean someone then have the courage to post your name along with the comments.

I value our right to free speech, but I do believe we should do more to protect another right: namely our privacy.

But even having said all of this, I will fight for the rights of all who wear the mask of anonymity while making statements that are cruel and many times false. I’ll fight for the rights of the nameless cur who has nothing better to do than hide behind a computer screen spreading pollution across the information highway.

Never got the rest of my lesson that I paid for.

PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM THIS DOG TRAINER. Jesse Dimas is a trainer who is affiliated with Super Dog Inc.

(I actually got Jesse's number from their phone number in Orange County.) I paid 1,200 for a series of house calls and never seen or heard of the guy again.

I even texted him and he kept telling me that I need to make my dog stay for 20 min and make him submit or else it won't be a second lesson.

I feel totally scammed out of my 1,200 dollars. Jesse does only the LA area.

This is typical of many companies that sell franchises - they are a scam - it takes YEARS to learn to properly train dogs - there is no 1 method to train dogs just like there is no 1 cure for all diseases.

Stay away any franchise type dog training schools -

ones I can think of are Bark Busters - Suoerdog of California and any of their franchises - Superdog dan of cincinnati is not a franchise and a legitimate Trainer

Sit means Sit is another - DogSmith - Canine Dimensions In-Home Training - or any dog franchises on this page - http://www.franchising.com/pet_franchises/dog_training.html

This is only my opinion as a professional Dog trainer and listening to clients that come to me day after day complaining about what a joke these "franchise" Dog Training schools are - Look for a professional Trainer that has at the most 1 helper or apprentice and make sure The Professional does the work - therwise these dog franchise people will be laughing all the way to the bank - :grin

I had a great experience with Jesse. I have 2 French Bulldogs and he was GREAT with them. He was funny, kind to my dogs and adjusted the program to what we were looking for with our dogs.

I had the same experience with John Vinton of Super Dog. I just couldn't get the rest of my lessons that I paid for.

He kept ignoring my e mails and phone calls.

This company has dozens of web sites and the head thief is David Baron.

I wish I looked them up beforehand in BBB site. They have over ten complaints and a C- minus rating.

Looking up SuperDog Reviews

Updated by user May 07, 2013

Why would anybody lie, unless the service provider failed to deliver what was promised? I'm not saying all dogs can be trained the way an owner expects.

But it's the trainer's responsibility to only promise what can be delivered. Certainly not animal abuse. I'd say 4 comments against you ... Superdogtrainers ...

***, means the same as 4 strikes you're out. I couldn't care less about somebody's BBB rating. And why would anyone want to post their name, address and phone number so some irate service provider could come after them?

No sorry, people making comments aren't quite that ***. Maybe that's what increase the Superdogtrainers frustrations right there ....

Original review Mar 14, 2011
The internet can be your best friend or worst enemy. Nowadays everybody looks up a review before spending significant money on a product or service. Especially in the absence of a personal referral. For anyone to be charge $1200 for training and not UNQUESTIONABLY stand behind that service or your money back, no questions asked, forget it. They'd better have in writing exactly what they deliver including the milestones the owner can expect to achieve. In other words I'll teach you how to make your dog "go to place". In two weeks the owner must demonstrate they can make their dog "go to place". Check off 1st milestone, and continue to number (whatever). If the trainer can't do this - or the owner comply with the program - then money is wasted! When I read that somebody can't get their money back, forget it. And anybody can stick a prong collar on a dog (the use of which is already outdated!) and intimidate a dog into submission. Unless that collar makes the dog "hectic" and then you'd better watch out for handler agression! A much BIGGER problem!!!

Jesse was my trainer and as per his contract that he makes you sign in like 5 places states, CALL or EMAIL HIM WITH ANY ISSUES, PROBLEMS, QUESTIONS. I called him and emailed him with every problem and question and he helped me each and everytime!!!

Now he did call me out when I wasn't doing my end of the program, which I did admit to and remedied and sure enough, my dogs were trained.

Very well, I'd like to add. Sad to say, that one lazy non compliant customer can make a trainer look bad.

Dave from Superdog.com also must've kicked my poor dog. When I got him back from his place, his girlfriend always keep holding my dog and talking to me the entire time and petting it nonstop.

All the commands were more focused on down and down-stays. When I asked to see the heal command was told that it's not as important and they'll show it to me next time.

When I got home, I noticed my dog really limping. When I called to ask what happened Dave kept saying that it must be something minor.

After hundreds of dollars in vet bills and x rays, I found out that it was fractured.

The vet said it must've been from kicking. I really wish that we seen these bad reviews before. Now my husband is trying to get our money back. David Baron is a very cruel individual that *** you the whole time to milk you out of your money. A rating in BBB don't mean *** when you're this cruel to the dogs and to your clients.

Super Dog, David Baron, Better Dog Training, Dave Dog Trainer

This individual just hates people and dogs. He's in it only for the money.

He told me that if I want my next lesson, that my dog better stay for an hour and not move or fall asleep or else there won't be another lesson. Couldn't get my money back. He told me that he may charge me more. Very rude and psycho owner.

This school is in business because of so many web sites they have.

superdog.com, davethedogtrainer.com, doganswers.com and the owner, David Baron kept hanging up and wouldn't even let me talk. There goes my money.

At least I wasn't drunk first thing in the morning like I usually am. If these were real people writing this *** they would mention the swastika tattooed in the middle of my forehead and that I beat my wife and kids, am mentally ill, HIV positive, was raped as a child, am a heroin addict, and stole the old people's Social Security check after killing their dog.

WTF.

This site is where the *** of the Earth come to libel people anonymously. :p :p :p :p :p :p :p

All of this is just nuts. The fact that there is so much contraversy alone puts a wet blanket over Dave's business. :upset

I would've given this company a negative review, but I don't think it will let me.

I was looking into a dog trainer for my sister's dog. My sister lives in CA and I offered to help her find a reliable trainer. I have my own two dogs, and I have had them trained. Thus, I had the experience to know what was bad ju-ju in trainers and what would be amazing. I also had the extra time to sit around checking out the information for her.

I looked at yelp first for ALL of the companies I was considering. This was one of the ones that stood out to me. I decided to give ALL the companies I had researched, the benefit of the doubt. I gave each one of them a call separately on separate days (I got busy myself). This company stood out for all of the WRONG reasons.

I didn't get through to Dave right away, as his assistant (a girl?) answered the phone and said he'd call me back. Okay...two days later I got a call back around 7pm. Odd, I figured they'd be closed by then and I HATE it when people call after 5pm (but we are different time zones so I let it slide).

First of all, my first question is always going to be about the reviews and if they are truthful or not. Two sides to every story, and whatnot. I wanted to make sure my sister wouldn't be scammed and that he knew or at least his trainers knew what they were doing. However, I never got past that very first question.

I would still have hired David Baron to do our training (or his trainers) if he'd been cordial on the phone. He was far from cordial. Soon as the words left my mouth about the reviews (never got farther then that), he started in with the threats. Let's see...he said he'd rape, disfigure, and murder me (another reviewer also posted this, so I'm not at all surprised). Apparently, he then had the clarity to realize he has no idea where I live or WHAT my full name is (duh!). He threatened to hunt me down and THEN stand outside my house. LOL Then he said he'd kill my husband, and then use my *** *** to do it's "job". Apparently, he has little respect for women. My husband is military too and would level this bully in less than a heartbeat. Whatever.

I hung up, but apparently I had given them my email. So I got a nice response back. Pretty much along the same lines as some of the other reviewers have said. He threatened me again, and told me if I knew what was good for me..I wouldn't report him to either the authorities, or say anything bad about him. Newsflash ***: Show up at my house, and you'll see my 9mm shoved against your head. Good luck with that.

Before he tries to attempt to comment on MY review, a few key facts here. I am NOT his competitor. I am NOT writing this out of spite. I feel that OTHERS should be warned about him as well. I also do NOT work for yelp, or have any connection with them - other then writing this review and others. I am NOT attempting to "blackmail him". As per a "real" person writing their name - he loves to respond with this - the reason it's called the internet is because it's supposed to be anonymous. It's not being a coward to not write down my full name. It's called a REVIEW and MY OPINION OF YOU! You can't act like your *** don't stink anymore, David. He will obviously say I never contacted him, but I'm sure the smarter readers will understand what I am conveying here.

Also, some side notes. He's no longer a member of the BBB and IF he is - he has a very low rating, with numerous complaints. He has 3 websites to bring in the customers, but none of them are accurate. He's a bully. Also, Dr Debbie Homemaker is a pseudonym of his that he uses to either outright attack posters, or to boost his company's image. I would also suggest not listening to any "former" employees, or anyone directly related to his company as they are completely biased. It's fairly obvious.

I would also like to quote one of his own responses on here for you:

"Anonymous poison pen confirms nothing because there is no telephone number or email address to contact the person complaining so as to verify anything. "

Remember, he will email you..call you..and basically stalk you if he doesn't like what you said. Good luck to everyone that posted negative reviews. I'm so sorry you had to put up with him, AND give him your money. I also have a feeling that the other posters are correct in stating that he abuses his dogs. If he abuses people like this, it would be ZERO surprise to me that he would hurt an animal too. Hence, I feel his websites (all what? 3-5?) are FRAUD. I also believe - and this might be speculation - that he uses so many websites, and company names just so people can't negatively write or report him (or sue him!).

I would suggest to all of the people he scammed, to bring him to civil court. You CAN get your money back for breach of contract and failure to provide services.

And no I didn't use your services ***!! I asked other trainers about their reviews and they were VERY nice about it. He went off the deep end.

I was investigating dog collars when I came across David Baron's site. I knew he was a problem as soon as I saw the part on clicker training and how it was written.

The woman who wrote Don't Shoot the Dog did not make "minimum wage training dolphins at Sea World" as is claimed. Dolphin trainers at Sea World make a lot more than minimum wage, obviously. So I already knew this guy was a liar. Many dog trainers recommend using a clicker along with your voice and food to train behaviors that, eventually, will appear without food.

The woman he was insulting and going off on dolphins about actually has trained dogs, horses, cats, even chickens and hermit crabs. I read her book and it has some good stuff (though not a catch-all.) And you don't have to read her book or even buy a clicker if you don't want. I don't care. I can just tell that this guy is a liar and the fact that he has so many sites is another red flag.

Please be careful if you're thinking about buying from him and check out your alternatives. Most pet stores like petco or petsmart employ trainers and I'd trust them above a guy who thinks dolphin trainers make minimum wage and that claims dogs become paralyzed and "ruined" by chain collars.

Thank you all for your comments. I saw his website and actually got excited and was really interested in the franchise part.

I'm so glad I saw everyone's comments before pursuing further.

I'm wondering if the response from "David Baron" is real. It is SO unprofessional and it's extremely hard to imagine someone in that position talking like that..

You pay for those scores and you think answering back on this is good business. That tells you right there what kind of person you are.

We use nothing that was taught because all it did was make Hume confused and stuff that could land my dog at the vet. Anyone that has to come on here like a 13 year old and say how good he is a liar. Some one who has to say how good they are isnt worth a ***!!!!!!!! Good dog trainers don't have to look for there bad reports nor do they cuss like ignorant *** and talk back to people.

Dog Training Sacramento - CONSUMER ALERT - David Baron

You will NOI get any references. You will NOT get David himself.

Which is a good thing. You will get lessons that are six weeks apart and when you ask for a lesson sooner, he'll ask you if our dog heels one step behind us. He once said that Cesar Millan doesn't know what he's talking about.

My husband told him that we paid for our dog to listen from a distance and he blew up on him on the phone.

All this guy does is keep taking people's hard-earned money. Reported him to BBB which I noticed he had about ten people with unsolved cases. Figures.

Don't let this guy or his trainers near your dog. You'll regret it big time.

Oh wow. He told me the same thing. He said that he's recognized and recommended by CNN, Fox, the animal planet, geography channel and he hasn't even ran a commercial with them.

Dave, you know you need help and your dog training is very cruel and inhumane like YOU are. The poor dogs look all sad and stiff around you. All the pics and videos on your cheesy website proves it.

I'm sure you'd love to confront me too and then rape me and disfigure or sue the *** out of me as you been telling everyone in here.

Our white German Shepherd, Xena, was out of control before we met Dave Baron. We liked the fact that she was good natured, playful and exhibited a spark of enthusiasm, but that came with chaos.

She was hyper to the extreme, maybe would come when called, and my wife literally could not walk her because she pulled and tugged and could not be contained even with a harness or pinch collar. It wasn’t because of a lack of effort on our part. When we got her from a breeder at 8 weeks old we had already watched dozens of dog training shows and read several books, we then immediately enrolled her in a clicker class and practiced every day. All to no avail.

When she was 6 months old, we frantically searched the internet for help and found “Superdog.”

Today, after 8 months, 6 sessions, 2 weeks at Dave’s house, and practice, practice, practice, Xena is almost, but not quite, to the Superdog standard. It has not been easy, however, Dave even commented that she was probably her toughest customer. But, today we are ecstatic with her performance. She still shows her spark of exuberance occasionally, but for the most part her behavior is amazing. “Down,” “come,” “sit,” “down stay,” “sit stay,” and “heel” are a given.

She basically happily does what you ask her to do. She will “down stay” effortlessly for well over an hour and my wife can walk her at a heel position, comfortably. She is better when my wife walks her and another dog approaches. She is more responsive to me.

Yesterday, when walking her, I passed 4 yapping, feisty small dogs, and as we passed the leash did not become taut once and she continued to heel. There were 4 people walking these unruly dogs and as I passed I heard three comments: “What a beautiful dog,” “Oh, she’s still a puppy,” and “What a well-behaved dog.” We can thank Dave for that last comment. Above all, Dave is dedicated to his profession. At 2 of our visits, there was a different visiting trainer from another state learning how to train dogs from Dave.

For us, that interaction reinforced in our mind Dave’s stature in the dog training community and also showed us his openness to new ideas and approaches. Dave not only returned all our calls, but he initiated calls checking on our progress. He genuinely has taken an interest completing the job successfully. He made himself available the day after Thanksgiving because my schedule was tight, and he voluntarily took Xena in for 14 days when we were on a trip, to see what made her tick.

Upon our return, she had improved dramatically.

We are very happy that we retained Dave Baron and Superdog. Xena is one of the most well behaved dogs I know, and at the same time, has not lost her friendly and happy attitude.

Guest

he is a great dog with a mellow disposition. She likes to be with the family most of the time, and if she would stay out of our pond, we would let her in more.

However, she is a large puppy, she must be close to 140lbs, and when she wants to play, she is sometimes too aggressive. We have 2 young children ( 8 and 10) and must keep her on her leash all the time. This aggressive play is very random and so it has been very difficult to train her out of it. I would not recommend her to be with children.

She was trained by Super Dog for $1200, but of course Sophie was perfect around the trainer. I have used a shock collar, but she knows when it is on and again she is perfect. We have thought she would have out grown this behavior by now, but it is apparent to me she has another year of this, and I am not comfortable with her being with the children. She has a pedigree bloodline, but we never bothered to get her registered.

She is of course current on all shots and everything else.

We are asking a $250 rehoming fee, for her bed, shock collar, training collar and leash. Another *** UPED Dog That He Trained - This Can Be Fixed Very Easy And Not For $1200.00

Superdog, Inc. David W. Baron Dog Trainer *** Artist

This company is owned by David W. Baron who should not be allowed to deal with people. He has gone back on his word, three times. You will not get the lessons you pay for. He will find a way to cheat you. He will lie to you, he make very unprofessional remarks made to you, including using profanity when he talks to you. I only know of 2 good dog trainers that this man has working for him, not employees, only contractors. Be very careful with this person in Roseville, CA. Don't use this company and tell all.

This guy charges 1,200 bucks. Yes, more than my rent. I wanted to do just one lesson to see how good he really is.

I honestly think this guy is self taught. He doesn't know ANYTHING about training or dog behavior. He totally ruined my dog. Til this day he shivers the min I put him on the leash.

I noticed all of a sudden he flipped my 10 pound dog just because he was pulling a bit. He kept insisting that the dog HAS to walk one step behind us. I told him I don't really care about all that as long as he doesn't pull on leash but he kept saying to shut up and let him do his job.

I took my scared dog out of there and didn't even pay the guy. He didn't wanna let go of my leash dog and kept saying that he needs to get paid for his freaking time. I grabbed my phone and threaten to call the police and he finally got the clue. His place is somewhere in middle of boonies in Roseville.

STAY AWAY FROM THIS ***. HE SERIOUSLY NEED MAJOR HELP.

I was extremely disappointed in the service I received from David. I took my older German Shepard there and Dave threw it around on a choke chain.

He used profanity the whole time. I was afraid that my dog was going to die at his hands. My wife took Binkie on the next visit as I refused to be around such unprofessionalism. She came home after leaving the lesson early!

Dave had propositioned her several times during the lesson!

I couldnt believe it. When I called with my frustrations I was only answered with profanity and threats!

Guest

David Baron, straight *** artist. Serious bi-polar issues. Dont trust this guy

Guest

Check yelp.com for his reviews, or even google his name + fraud. He has personally emailed ALL negative reviews about his company and threatened the following: rage, disfigurement, murder (etc).

I would suggest not using him OR ANY of his numerous websites. Even if you read the yelp reviews, you can see how actively he stalks the negative posts. He has an excuse/comment for every single one. Talk about narcissistic!

I personally, wanted to find a dog trainer in my area...and because of THOSE reviews I will NOT be using his services.

Thank you for all of the TRUTHFUL reviews, and for future people looking him up...please remember that employees are extremely biased (and probably just him responding again!!). You've been warned!

Guest

Very rude with us and harsh with our dog. I wish I ran into these reviews before. The Yelp one is even worse. David Baron only likes himself and that's all there is to it.

Didn't honor our lifetime deal and even told us that there would be a reinstatement fee if we liked to continue. Went with Petsmart. They are all positive training and our dog actually can't wait to go there.

Stay away from Superdog at all cost.

All he really cares about is the money and delay tactics to wear you down so you just say forget it. He does not show up for appointments, when you complain he may offer you a $100.00 to just leave him alone. he is mentally unstable, do not use this company, he has other names too for the same company. He won't give referances, it won't give you refund even if your dog dies.

And, Superdog is a California corporation. We use A A Better Dog Training because it comes up alphabetically higher in the Yellow Pages listings. I was licensed under Better Dog Training before I incorporated.

All our websites have the same telephone numbers and the photos of dogs are all at my home. We have multiple websites so the search engines pick up at least of of our pages in the cities and towns we do business in.

America used to be the place where you were entitled to confront you accusers. In the old days, people who wrote letters to the editor had to have their real names and a telephone number so someone from the newspaper could call and verify the person's identity and veracity.

How would you like some anonymous person trying to hatefully destroy your livelihood by saying horrible things about you personally----and there was no way to confront the person or call your accuser's own integrity into question.
