Purchased a car and was almost ready to walk because the finance manager

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

Went to trade in a car. To be short I knew what my trade was worth, knew what I wanted to pay for the vehicle based on comps in the area, and was very up front.

I asked not to go back and forth. My trade came back $1500 less than I asked. I said no. I was leaving.

He then came back with another $1000. I said no. He then said "you called our bluff". Gave me the $1500 more that I wanted.

Now came the car. After an hour of negotiating the price I told him I had perfect credit and would get the best call. Told him what I wanted to pay and he insisted I give a specific down payment even though it was fluctuating and I did not need much if any with a 800+ credit score. Then he wastes my time some more and shows me a crazy payment at 4.44% interest for a new car.

I said no I was leaving. I wanted the special financing. After standing up and asking for my keys he suddenly tells me that their in house has a 0% financing. He runs it and I am approved.

He actually wasted my time running financing with other lenders instead of his own. Tried screwing me and in the end made me wait 2 hours for the deal I said I wanted originally. Horribly unprofessional and they actually tried to bully me into a different deal. The place had closed so when I left they didn't even clean the inside or gas it up.

Took it back the next day and waited over an hour for these 2 simple tasks. I will NEVER purchase a vehicle from Wentzville Hyundai again. This was my 4th Hyundai with the Suntrup group and I have to believe it is the person I dealt with, not the company. I did not experience this before.

The company should be embarrassed to have people like this working for them. In the interest of fairness I want to share that the salesperson Joel was not a bad guy. Seemed newer but was friendly and apologized several times. Another salesperson Alex whom I met the next day got my blue link set up and was fantastic.

While waiting for them to gas my car up I observed him interact with a couple and he represents what I expected from Suntrup. One thing I forgot to mention----the finance manager actually looked at me and said "You will get a survey on us; I need it to be perfect, anything less counts against us ok?".

The survey will accurately reflect my experience. I will not even return for an oil change.

Set 9am appt for 26 Aug to look at a specific vehicle. We informed the dealership we were driving 1.5 hrs to view it and we were cash buyers.

If the vehicle sold or it wasnt going to be there for any reason they should call us. Showed up for the appt and the vehicle wasnt there. Suntrup missed out on a 26k sale that morning.

If a business cant do the small things right, they cant be trusted to do the big things right. Their competition earned my business.

RUDE IGNORAND AH Persons Suntrup South Lindberge

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

Suntrup South Lindbergh.....accidently left my cell phone and keys in back of car I test drove.....upon getting home ( we took wife's car ) realized I did not have my keys and cell. Called salesperson who told me to go to the used car department.

He was a new car salesman who had offered to show us a used car I liked. On way back to dealership ( 45 min drive ) and nearing closing time on a Sat we called the used department and told them about the keys and cell back of car ( in case our salesmen did not) . Double Checking. Was told they would call us back....NOT!!!!!

Arrived at used car department with 10 mins to spare to closing time Saturday. Told person at desk I was the person who called about the keys and cell ( thinking he would know what I was talking about since we called twice and was told they would call us back, which they did not ) He asked who my salesman was and he told me I have to talk to him...The guy could see I was PISSED!!!! Finally he went to find my salesman. While waiting some ( think it was red head ) *** starts mouthing off to me like I am the problem, and in front of customers.

Told her to mind her own business and she kept mouthing at me. The woman was 1000 % RUDE and COMBATIVE with me and in front of customers. Finally my salesman showed up, mumbling "why could they not get the keys and cell." I spoke to him three times, and three times he ignored me...he pretty well ignoring my questions before the test drive too. I am not as mad at him for not getting the keys as I am at the *** mouthing off at me.

None of her business!!

I told her after realizing she was yelling at me across the room, I was not talking to you...she said" But I am talking to you" Yep, that makes me want to buy a car!! NOT!!

Ridiculous Business Practices

I have tried on several different occasions to buy cars from Suntrup dealerships (Kia and Hyundai dealerships, specifically), mainly because I know one of the Suntrups personally. Each experience has been dismal, and full of "bait and switch" tactics on the car models, accessories, and prices.

I have never played the "I know XXX Suntrup" card, nor would I. I will also probably not bother to complain directly to him. But I will never, under any circumstances, buy a car from a Suntrup dealership.

I'm sorry to say it, but "Dishonest" and "unethical" are the only words I can use to describe my experiences.

Ford Truck with Bad Cam Phasers, possibly other engine problems.

These people should not be in business. They are nothing but liars and cheats.

Bought a Ford FX4 pickup, they assured me that it was a good truck. The day I bought it, it was too cold to stand around outside, so I took their word for it. Bob Stapleton is nothing but a liar. The first lie he told me was that none of these trucks had a light in the odometer, but I found out that the light was burnt out and replaced it myself, a 15 minute fix.

I had called them right when I got home with my truck because on the drive home, the motor was making a ticking noise after it warmed up. When I went back to talk to them, this week because they called me, and assured me that I would see the manager. I was greeted by a salesman who wanted to know what car I wanted to update. I told him I wasn't interested in updating anything, they told me to come down to see the general manager, which I never got to see.

They then rushed me over to the service department like they were going to do something about the problem, they then told me that it could cost me anywhere from $1700-$2000 or even higher to fix the problem. They offered to give me $500 towards the bill, BIG DEAL. So I am stuck with a truck that is so embarrassing to pull up anywhere with a window, because of the noise it makes. Also, the gas door was broke and had tape on it to keep it closed.

PLEASE do yourself a favor and STAY AWAY from these people, as there is no honesty there. This is the second and LAST vehicle I will be purchasing from there. Do yourself a favor and don't waste your time.

There are a lot of honest Ford dealers, but these people are not one of them. -Louie Re

Payment Review

Bought a car from Suntrup Wentzville. They lied to me about my payment amount, no referral check was sent, my salesperson called me at home to complain about my survey.

My paperwork showed up so late, I was penalized at the DMV for being late. I'm calling the BBB and everyone in the Facebook world will know not to buy there!

9 hard credit inquiries

My son is a good man but unfortunately he got into trouble with credit cards 10 years ago. Well I had previously purchased a car from this dealership gave it to my son who has never been late or missed a payment in 4 years.

When his wife's vehicle broke down he asked me if I would help him buy one as a cosigner. I said yes and we went back to suntrup. He found a vehicle he could afford and I agreed to become his cosigner. With my credit rating this should have been easy but turned into a nightmare.

The interest rate 1st obtained was totally unacceptable. So in an attempt to push this vehicle they authorized 9 hard credit inquiries which I would have never agreed to. Unable to resolve our differences I told them to forget the whole deal that we were no longer interested. Two weeks later we were still getting calls.

They did find a lender offering the right rate but other conditions were unacceptable. We declined to purchase another vehicle from them and instead I paid cash for the right car. This dealer knew that hard inquiries stay on your credit report for two years before they are removed. Why 9?

And finally, why wasn't I told about this before the event occured? Viewers please beware and know in advance what the dealer is going to do with your information before you find out the hard way.

Customer Service? What's That?

Bought a used car here. When I had a problem after the sale, my salesman, Tommy, actually HUNG UP on me on the phone.

I have never been treated with such rudeness or arrogance. I told the sales manager that I would not be doing business with Suntrup in the future, and he said, "If you think you can hurt us by not shopping here, go ahead." The service department said that the car needed a $410 repair, right away, or it would get worse and worse. When we decided that THEY would have to pay for it, they changed their mind and said that the car did NOT need the repair after all--it could run indefinitely without the repair.

Hmmm.... Horrible, horrible experience, and horrible, horrible people--all the way from the sales people, service people, and management.

My Suntrup Car Experience Sucks

I purchased a pre owned GMC Van ($47,900) that was previously owned by the owner of Suntrup. When I asked what was wrong with it, and if it had been in any accidents, the salesperson assured me it was in pristine condition.

Upon my return home, I had it inspected by my local GMC dealer. Inspection revealed the following; rear differential fluid excessively dirty, the vehicle was out of alignment, and the body shop discovered a stress fracture encompassing the front of the high top with a 3" gouge. I have sent the documentation over to Sean Kelley the pre-own manager as well as M. Knight, so far no response from either.

I hope that this experience turns into a positive one really soon. Otherwise my "Funtrup" to Suntrup, wasn't so fun.

I hope to get this resolved.

Suntrup Kia Should Be Shut Down!

Went to Suntrup Kia West County on Manchester Road. Test drove a new Optima, not sure of the deal yet they had my roommate sign a "dummy contract" (their words) they said so you can take it home.

They said that if the financing wasn't to our liking, could just "walk away" from the deal. Two days later, it was decided that this car wasn't wanted and tried to walk away from the deal as stated could be done. That is when the heavy handed intimidation, threats and bullying began. Some pipsqueak at West County named Jobey comes in and says "I'm going to hold your feet to the fire!" You are going to sign this deal or I'll cash it in at 18% and thats what you'll be stuck with!" Since I was just along as a witness, I also tried to argue against the deal going through along with my roommate, who was beginning to have a panic attack.

I was then told by Jobey: "You can leave my dealership, or you can sit there and shut up. I don't want to hear another word out of you!!!" The bullying continued, and then we were told that we could not get our potential trade back. They said it was already gone. But as it turns out, it was listed on their lot and their website 3 or 4 days later for sale!!!

We were blatantly lied to. My roommate under extreme duress ended up signing the deal because with the old car "gone" as were were told, felt he had no other optin at that point. Fast forward to not quite a month later, Mercedes-Benz financial calls and says they cannot release the lien/ownership of the vehicle without my signature (I was the co-signer on that vehicle) Suntrup Kia just sold it over the weekend, and they can't get a title for it without my signature!

I might eventually sign it over, but Suntrup is going to have to give me something in return, and kiss my a --! But for now, I'll make them pay and sweat a little, perhaps having yet another ticked-off customer because of it.

SCAM ARTISTS

I wish I had been more knowledgeable when dealing with these liars. I knew auto sale personel had no soul but I wasn't prepared for how tricky they are.

I originally contacted them on-line and when they called they qouted me a price. When I got there they claimed to have made a mistake on about nine seperate phone calls. Then they got me on the financing.

They told me that the bank REQUIRED me to finance a protection type program.

The cost was over 30 percent of the loan. Those are dishonest closing costs. NEVER do business with SUNTRUP AVOID them like the plague. Worst car dealer ever.

I suspect the Suntrup family has been distorted by imbreeding. I am just trying to justify their lack of morality.

I worked for California Contractors Supplies off and on for about 10 years. The fact that they are still in business is a miracle in itself.

First off, those of you who have listed a complaint about a particular salesman, those are not the salesman's real names at all. When you start there they generally take your first name and give you a generic, easy to pronounce, last name. Why? Because you are likely to never talk to the same guy twice. Accounts are traded, turnover is really high so accounts get transferred to other salesmen. The name you use is the name at the top of the paid invoices in the case of previous customers, or your "made up" name if you are cold calling leads.

Their tactics are dishonest in almost every facet. They will lie and say they are following up on a flyer (CCS sends no literature, EVER). They will lie and say they are selling overstock from bids with large companies (lies, CCS holds no contracts with anyone..they are just a telemarketing company and do no bidding on jobs). They will say there is limited quantity in order to create a false sense of urgency. They purposefully mislead you to agree to false information (You're used to seeing these even at Wal-Mart for AT LEAST $_______, Right?) so when they give you their inflated price it sounds good. They will tell you whatever you want to hear if you ask a question about a product they don't know the answer to. They will tell the filthiest, most racist, most offensive jokes possible in hopes that someone will find it funny and buy from them. They are trained to lie their way past secretaries, and I can remember at LEAST a dozen times that police were called in various states for our salesmen harassing secretaries.

These people pay up to a 48% commission just to its salesmen! Can you imagine what their markup must be to make a profit AND pay that commission? You'd be right if you assume that they buy Harbor Freight items (in some cases, exactly the same items) and sell them for Snap-On prices.

The office itself is a hive of criminal records and drug abusers (sadly, I speak from experience). The probation offices and halfway houses wont even let their inmates work for CCS branches anymore because of their unethical work conditions and pay scheme. Simply put, it is a pyramid scheme. They pay bonuses to their branch offices based on the sales of all offices working under them. If the director of the main branch has 6 salesmen that want to start their own company under them, they get credit for all of their sales towards their bonuses. If those 6 salesmen have more, then the pyramid continues to grow.

High pressure, dishonesty, and poor quality are the trademarks of California Contractors Supplies. I hope that by exposing some truths about them, I can atone for being a part of such a wretched organization.
