Unfair practice
It is now July 16 and I have not heard one word from Sunset Rentals. I am now assuming I will not and I am happy to close this issue.
I would never use Sunset Rentals and I would never recommend Sunset Rentals to anyone. Case Closed.
Issue resolved:June 18, 2020 I received in the mail notice that Red Sky Insurance settled my claim and that I would expect a reimbursement within days. June 22, 2020I received the check in the mail.
I would like to thank Pissed Customer and all the websites I sent reviews to on Red Sky Travel Insurance and Sunset Rentals Hilton Head and all the agencies I have contacted via email and/or letter which are too numerous to mention. I am assuming my hard work and perseverance paid off.
I believe this because I have not heard from Sunset Rentals after I refused their disingenuous offer of $500 waived fee. Lesson: Investigate sights such as Pissed Customer and all others that help you sort out the good agencies from the bad.

Rented vacation rental through Sunset Rentals and they offer Trip cancellation insurance through a Maryland based company RED SKY.
While we were on our 2020 vacation by husband who is elderly and in end stage renal failure and on home dialysis started his downward spiral. We had just booked through same agency for 2021 vacation.
We signed rental agreement on 1/10/20 because my husband was doing very well and we were probably too optimistic. By 2/20/20 things had declined so much that I called Rental agency to cancel 2021. They said "file a claim" Period! Very sympathetic.
I filed a claim with Red Sky and all required documents were sent to them as well as all required documents from my husbands attending physician. They will not answer emails and leave you to die on the vine if you call on the phone. After trying and trying to reach the travel insurance company and failing, now I have turned to the agency that provided us with Red Sky and asking them to make good and reimburse us. They respond with we are not responsible for your troubles, deal with the insurance company.
Since neither the rental agency or THEIR partner in crime trip insurance agency decline to act in "good faith". someone should be held accountable and I believe Sunset rentals should come forward and do the right thing. Instead they said they would wave $500....we are talking $3900 plus.
DO NOT RENT YOUR VACATION PROPERTY IN Hilton Head FROM SUNSET RENTALS. BEWARE!!
