Sunset Properties

We rented 3 houses on the beach for a large family event. All three we disgusting.

Furniture is broken. They stink. Everything is old. I don't think it has been cleaned properly in years.

The mattresses still have plastic on them. The sheets are like sandpaper. I am praying I don't get sunburn because I'm not sure I will survive the rough bedding. When I touch the cupboard handles they are all sticky.

We were hoping to find a new vacation spot. That is not the case. All three houses were the same.

I suggest going somewhere else for the price. We will not be back.

We rented Powell A. Oceanfront.

While the house is indeed pet-friendly, it is not human-friendly. The ancient stove nearly caught fire the first day, and the microwave above it is about to fall off the wall. Several crank windows do not close, and the main stairway to the home is quite shaky. No more than 1 person can comfortably fit into the kitchen, and you cannot open the oven door wide enough to change the racks because the door hits the refrigerator.

Screens are ripped on the doors and while there's a great ocean-front location, you can barely see out of the dirty, seal-broken windows. I won't even go into the nasty, old, outdated bathrooms, and mushy beds. We love the beach, and felt better about leaving early.

Fire department had to make a siren visit to a home 3 doors down. Never again.

We rented 222 Pelicans Play from Sunset Vacations. We were surprised to discover when arriving that the furniture in the photo on line is NOT what is in the unit.

The furniture is nasty, stained and dirty. We paid $3K for the week. The house was not properly cleaned when we arrived - counters dirty, food on sofa, floor filthy. Bare feet were black walking on the floor and we have 2 crawling infants with us for the week.

In my payment I had paid for move out cleaning. Why was the house not cleaned before We moved in? The dryer does not work. The outdoor grill in photo does not exist.

The owner left an old mattress , trundle, and headboard outside the unit to greet us as we arrived. It was hauled away after we notified Sunset Priperties.

Terrible experience. Lost a customer for life.

It's no surprise they don't have a VRBO-like means of posting reviews. The results might be too embarrassing. This place could get 2/10 star and the company might get 1/10. This place hasn't had a good cleaning since 1975 when the linoleum and the teal Berber carpet were installed. No window screens. Limited tvs with lousy images. Old and tired everything.

And representing this as a gourmet kitchen can't even qualify as a misrepresentation. It's honest to god BS. Poorly equipped and gross.

You get a little towel with each bathroom. Whoopie.

Come prepared. They don't do so much as provide the first bar of soap, roll of toilet paper or salt and pepper. Seriously? Quite bizarre.

There is a LOT of maintenance needed. Sad shape and really misrepresented. Lousy value.

They will not refund money back so please do not rent from them. I paid over 1000 dollars for nothing, it is very wrong to pay that much and not even get one thing for your money, they will not even let you come down for a vacations if you can't make the date once u paid that it, this place is no good be aware they fair thing is to a least let you come down at a later time but they want so be aware of this place

We went down on may 9 th and me and my husband annivarsy was june 21 so we was looking to find something for a week,so we was just riding around fishing for the day and we seen that place never rented from them before and never will again.me and my husband went in and ask the girl at desk about the week stay if they had anything and she said she had place right across from pier, so she show us what it look like on paper but said that we could not go in because she had nobody to let me in .but on paper it look good and we decided to rent it so i paid half then and after i paid that half she told me i would half to pay the other half the following week . i went home and asked for that week off from work and paid my other half of the rental fee but my boss would not let me off because someone eles had already got that week so i call them to get money back but they would not give back never did the girl every give me nothing but a bill where i paid 560.00 she did ask us if we wanted the ins but never told us what it was for do not rent from this place unless you want to give them money they are not honest people all i want is my money back. how many people can afford to give 1100.00 and not get one thing out of it please think before you rent from this place

We went to Sunset Beach in the middle of August. We rented a house from Sunset Properties. The house was located across the street from one of the main ocean acess points. So, a good location. The house was described and displayed pictures on their website.

Of course, the house was "fabulous". When we arrived, what a shock. There was mold on the shower curtain and all over the back door, the rugs were dirty, the cooking utensils/pans were crusted with burnt food and unusable, there was a stove burner that was , the toaster oven was broken and most of all, septic work was done during our stay. We had to smell sewage for 3 days!!!

We called Sunset to have the burner and toaster replaced. I also sent two written complaints to Sunset Properties about the house conditions. No reply.

We will not be renting from Sunset Properties again. They are not customer friendly and really could careless about our issues. Beware!!!!
