Sunny-destinations Scam
Yep they called me. I signed up for something at a food expo in Phoenix.
Got a call stating I won some trip to Mexico, Bahamas, and Orlando. $299 for myself & my husband! I said I didn't have the money then the rep says well how about $299 for yourself & we'll waived the $299 for your husband so now at this point I'm excited like yeah this is a great deal! I told them to give me a call back that Friday since they called earlier in the week.
They call back frid and I was hesitate & flaked on them because I just figured this is to real to be truth and I saved myself some relief in the end! Now I see they are scammers!
They website is www.sunny-destinations.com.. Don't get reeled in!

They now go by the name "Sunny Destinations."
I received their call while I was at work, and when I asked how these "Sunny Destinations," people got my number - they just asked "well you did sign up to win a free trip at Comic *** New Orleans correct?"
Um no. I didn't. In fact I thought I had signed up for a prize with the Lego exhibitors.
These sneaky and sly jerks actually handed out these tiny papers near the lego exhibit booth at the ***, pretended to be them to my party and I (which our party consisted of myself and two other people), and then proceeded to tell us "if you wanna win a free prize from our booth (while pointing at the lego booth), just fill out this paper and put it into the tumbler spinner." So not thinking anything about it, we did. Keep in mind, the tumbler spinner thingy full of paper entries, was on the table connected to the lego table at the Comic ***. That's not counting how the guy waved over to the lego booth exclusively and when my friend who was with us asked if it was with the lego booth, they guy was like "yeah, yeah of course man!" So we legitimately thought this contest was with the lego exhibitors.
Wrong, they blended their booth in with the Lego booth next to theirs and no one was manning it - thus making it look like they were "busy," at the lego booth when really they (the Sunny Destination people) weren't even at their table on purpose just to mislead people. It was empty and made to look like the workers were at the Lego table helping interested people in the legos instead. It's smart I'll give them that, however they tried this on the wrong person because I know one of the lead organizers for the event very well as I work in media - and this scam company won't be pulling this *** again.
Anyway, after I get the call - they tell me that the slip I filled out thinking was for a prize from the lego booth, was really for them.
At this point, the red flags go off. Why hide like that at the *** if you're legit? Answer is: you wouldn't.
So I listened as Kathy tells me that I was 1 of 50 other people in the state to win this contest. And then I'm offered Orlando vacation packages (with hotel stays to the Ramada) [Side note: Are you kidding me? I stay at 4-5 star resorts where ever I go, the Ramada is NOT the type of hotel I stay in. I wouldn't be caught dead in a Ramada. Good lord, at least get better hotels for your scam.], I'm also offered vacation stays to Daytona, Mexico, Las Vegas, and cruises to the Bahamas. All for the lovely price of $520+ dollars today!
So when I asked about airfare and if it's included - that's when Kathy switched me over to Jon Eisner.
[Another side note: that seems to be another play out of their play book. The soft and excited female lures you in with all of these exciting things you "won," and then the aggressive sales man comes on the line the second you start wanting to ask real questions about this, and he's friendly but firm in his pushy tatics. Honestly I figured it out the second he answered the phone what was going on and I wasn't impressed it was unoriginal.]
So after he jumps on the phone, he wants to tell me that since 9/11 it's "illegal," to actually offer airfare on contests. Which is a blatant lie because I won airfare for a trip to Vegas back in 2014. And no I didn't pay one single dime for the entire trip until I got there and had to eat and take a cab to the hotel. So I know how LEGIT trips you win, actually work. Clearly this guy didn't realize that people out there know this.
Then he goes over everything once again that I "won," and at the end he tells me I can get it all for just a one time fee of over $520+. Sounds nice right? So I asked him if I could talk to my boyfriend about it first, and also I wanted to wait until I got paid on Friday before I bought anything. To please hold MY winning account until I called back with a final decision on Friday. Wrong. He wanted to haggle me and give the overused and obvious line of "well you have to make a decision today or you'll lose out on these amazing deals!" So I asked him "how can I lose out on a prize that I LEGALLY won? That's not how that legally works Jon." So he told me, "well no, you have to make a decision today because all 50 families have to book their accounts and trips before the trips disappear." Once I told him I've won trips before and NONE of them worked this way at all, ever. He was stammering trying to go back over the prizes I won again and asked me to secure the account with them with my credit card. I hung up after that.
Pro-tip to all people out there, these people are scam artists. The paper I filled out said NO PURCHASE NECESSARY TO WIN. It was on the fine print at the bottom. Legitimate trips you win, will cover your airfare, hotel and will make sure you get everything you were promised.
These companies that say you won but require a down payment of sorts (for processing fees, taxes, to hold your account/winnings with them) are scams. No actual contests will do this and if you DO pay taxes or fees, most of the time the company will cover the biggest chunk of it and you will be left with a small fee (usually under $100 and under $50).
Hope this helps guys!
Sunny Vacation Getaway Vacation Package Review from Solon, Ohio
Like others I had signed up for the advertised free trip. The booth was basically empty, but I had assumed that like the rest of the vendors at comic *** it was a legit sweepstakes.
I was contacted originally by Rock who did not identify his company. I googled the phone number and it was linked to a physical therapist in Florida. A later call from Julie stated that she was from sunnydestinations regarding the vacation. As she gave me her shpiel about the fantastic offer, I searched the company name.
A cheaply made website and others reporting scams made it clear this was total BS. Not to mention that I only had to pay $600 to get this lovely package- doesn't that sound fantastic?I emailed wizard world to complain and a Howard Smallwood from hls productions and sunnydestinations emailed me to "clarify" saying it wasn't a prize, it was a discount. Really?
Then you're either lying or its false advertising. Either way this is all a phishing scam- no legit data was ever provided or found through searching.
Review in Hotels and Resorts category from Kent, Washington
Booked a trip to Orlando Fl as a bonus package and the customer service agent told me that the resort in Florida will call and confirm the dates by the end of the week.........a month later? Still no call.
Called again today and was put on hold by 2 agents and after 12 mins on hold with each call i got hung up on. Called them back and an agent told me a manager will give me a call back and no call from manager. Called them back and a different agent picked up and couldn't confirm when I booked my trip and laughed at me because I told her she was wrong! Asked her what do I need to do next to see if she would give the same answer as one of the previous agents and she replied "ummmmmmmmmmm hold on" and placed me on hold.
Came back and told me the resort should be giving me a call back at the end of this week as long as they have the right number. Today is Tuesday May, 3rd I will wait for the end of this week to see what happens then....mh
Sunny destinations Orlando
I too submitted a form for a free trip to Orlando FL. I also had a rep telling me that I won a free trip to Orlando with all expenses paid .
All I had to do was to pay the resort fee. Then when I was transferred to another agent. He had said that This was a promotional vacation getaway and it would cost $299 for 1 person and $299 for an additional person and the third for free.
I said to the rep, earlier I had the first guy telling me it was free & the other guy that took my info tried to record our conversation and scam me of $698. I signed up for the Las Vegas comic *** this past March 18

Sunny Destinations
Be wary, Sunny Vacation Getaway is now calling with the name Sunny Destinations. I registered at comicon in New Orleans.
As others have, I googled the name and nothing came up. I was skeptical when "Julie" told me she only had one call that she was allowed to make to me and 49 other families. After she told me about all of the glorious vacation packages available to me, she told me it would only be a $299 fee for me and $299 for the second traveler to which I replied by hanging up. After I was told she only had one call and I hung up, she called me back two more times!
Amazing! Don't fall for it people!

Multi Vacation Getaways?
Just as a heads up, this is a scam. It's along the same lines as the "you've won a free cruise" tactic. This time, they have you sign up for a contest and if you "win" you get to go on 5 vacations for $698. Yeah, it's too good to be true. When they call they will want you to commit right away and will ask for your credit card info. Their web domain was registered less than 3 weeks ago, so there isn't anything online yet saying it is a scam. However, it is the same website as My Sunny Vacation, which has been identified as a scam as well. I just wanted to be the first so that it hopefully shows up in search results. Has anyone else heard from these quacks?

Additional Details
Here is one of their phone numbers in case you get called: 1-95*-587-****. However, they do have multiple numbers to try to evade people posting the numbers online as a scam number.
and...
They called and told me I won a vacation packet. They told me I would need to pay taxes of $498.00 and then I would be set for all these great vacations and a cruise.
When I called to book my vacation I was told there would be more taxes and fees.
Here are two of the identical websites they have, and there are potentially more just like them:
http://mysunnytravel.com/
http://www.multivacationgetaways.com/
If you ask them as to why they have the identical *** website as another site, they will swear they are two completely different companies.

Bottom line, I was unable to schedule use of the vacation offers during the 18 month period from 5/23/08 to 11/22/09. When I called to schedule a trip on 4/17/10, I was told that I needed to pay more money to use the package. I argued the point indicating that all I needed to do was ask to extend the offer 1 to 2 years. Silly me, I did not have anything in writing to confirm my understanding. The representative was going to check my package purchase and call back. That was 4/17/10. No response ever returned. I have called back multiple times but the lines are always busy.
this is an ongoing scam the company keeps changing the name
i went to the dinosaur expo and that's where they got my info.

One of my friends and I went to a circus, and we filled out a contest slip to " win " a free trip to Orlando, FL. I received a call today stating that i was randomly selected out of 1 and 50 families to win this "free" trip.
The lady begin to explain what was included in the vacation package, and how she was excited that I won, and asked me a couple of questions such as who am i going to bring? Do i travel frequently? Etc. After she explained the vacation package, she informed me it would be $498, which includes 5 star resorts in Orlando, FL.
and a trip to Bahamas; she also explained that there was a special part of the package that includes a cruise, which if i chose the "special" package, it would be $698. She informed me that i would be able to plan these trips anytime within 18 months; if i was unable to plan the trips within 18 months, than she would give me an extension. She handed the phone over to someone by the name of "Luke" that congratulated me, and went over some of the terms and conditions. As he was informing me about the terms and conditions of the vacation package, I was researching their company to check if its a legitimate, which it is; however, to make the long story short, the whole company is running a scam.
He kept going on and on about the vacation package, and tried to persuade me that these were legitimate offers.
Buyer beware people!!!! Do your research !
Fell for it not even 24 hours ago

SCAM
Gave my name & phone number in a convention in AC. First off, when i called back they would not answer the phone when i called from my work number but they did answer with my cell phone number.
15 minute explanation about how you will get to travel to luxurious beach-front properties for 3 years. Asked the guy to send me an e-mail with the info to think about it & because I googled them various times while on the phone and nothing ever came up. He just transferred me to another guy who repeated the same thing & emphasized how I'm so lucky that i was chosen out of thousands of people for this promotion.
Just hung up on him.
Plus they want your credit card info right away to "register" but its complete BS. Dont fall for it.
Scam, stay away from this company
I got a call from Susan who identified herself as being from ST Vacations. She called from 954-454-****.
I did a reverse white pages search on the number which showed it is an AT&T landline in Hollywood, Fl She claimed I was selected out of several for a vacation giveaway. She claimed I met the demographic criteria, and the other criteria (income over $50,000 & single). She said they received my name from the Lancaster Event Center's No Bull Just Horses Expo in Lincoln, NE. That was true, I did sign up there for what I thought was a vacation giveaway.
Their signs at the booth were misleading, and nobody was ever attending the booth on the two days I was there. When I asked what the ST stood for, I was directed to www.universalgetaways.com. It pulled up Sunny Time Vacations. I asked if the ST stood for Sunny Times.
I was told no several times, by her & another representative. When I asked how to look them up through the Better Business Bureau, I was given this bogus #. After asking several times if airfare was included & being told to hold one that she would get to that, the rep told me to hold on, but this time a gentleman came on & id himself as universal getaways, but when I asked about ST Vacations, he told me they were two different things. They told me I qualified for a 5 day, 4 nights to Orlando, FL Continential Plaza ocean view resort with 2 adult theme tickets to Walt Disney, $500 on land fun pack, would be responsible for an $8-15 room tax per night total plus phone charges.
The next trip offered was 3 day 2 night Daytona Beach or Cocoa (where NASA is, said rep), 3 day 2 night Miami or Ft. Lauderdale, 4 day 3 nights on the Royal Carribean to Nassau or 5 days 4 nights on the Bahama Celebration Cruise to Grand Bahama/Freeport, port and service fees not included, a passport or land card required for Bahamas, up to 3 yrs to use, no blackout dates, 60 day notice for cruise, 30 day notice for land travel, 60-90 min walk thru amenity tour(timeshar presentation) with breakfast in Orlando & one at each location if these vacations were not taken consecutive. Promotional fees $349 for first person, $349 more for 2nd person, 3& 4th passenger free, 5th free if 12 yrs or under, airfare not included, but could purchase two tickets for the price of one by buying one & supposedly getting the other free, 2 bonus trip choices (7 days 6 nights to Puerta Vallerta, Mexico, 5 days 4 nights to Cancun, or 4 days 3 nights to Las Vegas with $100 Voucher for Casino, Meals, etc. They read a script to me.
They wanted me to make a decision over the phone in this first phone call, and provide them with my credit card. I told them no I would not without checking them out throughly first.
They would not budge on offering or extending these vacations to me after I had a chance to research their company. Be smart, and do not waste your time or money with these guys.

Just had a call tonight from them, "Makita Harrison" and "Luke Nicholas"- could have been "Nichols". Same thing as everything described above.
I am also smarter than the average bear- as you two other who made comments. I do know about few marketing techniques and understood that there are catches. I would have only paid $398.00 for all of these "20+ trips", to use within 4 years - that I could go on with my husband and 3 kids. Luke gave me the same spill as mentioned above.
I did give him my card number- started the recording process- due to "salesman tactics", I wanted to make sure everything was on the recording that was mentioned that I was to be getting (I actually did write EVERYTHING down). Well, it was about the third question that was too unspecific about what he wanted me to answer and I wanted to know SPECIFICALLY what he was asking me to answer Yes for, so I wasn't gonna get screwed over on anything that they told me that I was gonna get for this $398 bucks. Well, Luke STOPPED THE RECORDING to answer my question, with a slight frustrating attitude in his voice- He almost had me sold, understanding I would have some out of pocket expenses for "hotel tax"-which he also tries to fast talk- good sales tactic. I have caught him in lies about how long he worked at this "Sunny Destinations"-first it was 3 years, then another time he mentioned that he worked there since 2005.(Looks like this place might have only been around for 1 year and is possibly from London if it is the right company I found- but there is no website that I could find for them).
Also, when I was concerned about it being legit, Luke was telling me how everything would go to my emails- I asked about just going to the website- Luke told me that I just needed to click a link in the email to confirm, blah blah blah. That was another red flag, but I still was curious about all of these places for such a small amount of cash, regardless of some marketing catches, I just wanted to know exactly what ALL OF THE CATCHES WERE! I wouldv'e been fine with the "brunch meetings" or what not, but it didn't feel right, and if it doesn't feel right and it seems to good to be true, it's best to listen to your conscience. I hate being lied to.
Just come out with all the facts of what is behind the "goodness" of the offer and maybe you'll have more people be willing to go on cheap vacation with "catches". Dumb Dumbs... how do people live with themselves being a crook? Oh, I know....they only care about themselves for the most part....Great, and they will just pass that trait on to their offspring and keep the tradition alive...poor offspring.
Okay- starting to vent and getting off of the subject.! :) Anyhoo- I canceled my card right after Luke hung up on me when I told him that I changed my mind. Then I looked up "Sunny Destinations" and came across this site and thought it was definitely worth the time to mention my story with this joke. Nice point above as well, if it was a prize won, there would not be a time limit and all expenses would truly be paid for.
Good Day Everyone! Peace!
Had the exact same experience with Steve and Luke Nichols under Sunny Destinations. Wasted 20 minutes of my time before I hung up. Glad I didn't fall for this garbage.
