We got delivery 24 hrs later but was assessed a $175 delivery fee on top of the propane fill up. When I called the 1 800 number they said to call our regional supplier and they may waive or reduce the delivery fee. When i called they said they would not. The mgr said "Who's going to pay the driver?". I have been a loyal customer for 18 yrs and not waiving or reducing the delivery fee is not acceptable. I told the mgr that was bad business as i...

Troy, oh, Jan, 2016 - we called in to have our tank filled and was told $3.799 per gallon.Got to checking and other local suppliers below $2.00. Called to cancel order and different person advised if I had talked to her she could have talked to the boss and gotten me a better price. Our new supplier filled us up for $1.749 per gallon. Our new supplier also was replacing six suburban tanks this week. Hopefully these ripoff artists will be out if...

New to the country , new to propane with a new furnace, so I went with these guys to try it out, in 1 year they charged us twice for something they shouldn't have. and when i called around, and asked for rates from other competitors, superior is charging ~15 cents more per Liter from other companies. and yes, you pay more for the tanks on top of that. I have no idea how these people are still in business. As soon as I did the math and realized i...

I moved into an apartment that already had Suburban Propane tanks. I am disabled and they received fuel assistance, the company claims I went through 148 gallons of fuel in less than 9 days(I run the heat at 60, took 2 showers and don't use it for anything other than hot water, no washer), they delivered 50 gallons to my house without my consent because they said "you can't go without heat" We then went through 50 gallons in less than 24 hours...

Anonymous NO apartment can go through 50 gallons in 24 hours. The million dollar mansions I service in Big Sky do that but they have two or three boilers plus fireplaces.

Can never get anyone on the phone, the came and added propane to my tank supposedly, yet my tank was empty and has been since before the "added propane" to it. Double charging me for tank rental. I am just so over this company. Finally today after trying to contact them since April was I able to get someone on the phone that was nice and understanding. At least they have a few employees that seem to actually care about the customers. However, I...

The very last time I used suburban was about (about 3years ago).I had moved into my new house and switched to a local carrier that was $0.60+ per gallon cheaper. Only downfall, if there was an issue with my furnace, I had no one to fix it. I had called Suburban in Oneonta, NY to inquiry. Did I have to be purchasing fuel from them or could I just have them fix my furnace? Of course, the answer was I had to purchase fuel to have the maintenance...

Give me a break! All we use propane for is the stove. Fall is here, and I just want to be able to cook a normal meal in my own house! Their rental fees are more than double the competition, their service is obviously all mixed up and awful. At this point I am ready to just put the darn thing on the curb! Besides which, they never should have sent a monthly top-up type contract for cooking service, when just an annual fill-up is usually...

We're staying at our family vaca spot while house hunting and need a propane delivery for heat and cooking/baking. Our tank was very low bc the property isnt used very often (now we're out..). We prepaid to fill the tank when requesting the delivery. First we were told up to 4 days (the end of the week) for the delivery. At the end of the 4th day we called and were then told it would actually be up to 7 days for delivery. Well, its been 8 days,...

They ran us out of propane and claim that we didn't call for a delivery which we never have in 13 years. Pay a $150 charge and an inflated price / gallon in order to get your appliances functioning again. I'm amazed in the lack of tact, logic and overall intelligence. I realize good people are hard to find, but this is really amazing. A lack of empathy and leadership oversight is very apparent. I'd wonder about training and overall employee...

Then a month before Christmas they arbitrarily decided to fill it and charge me almost $600 without any authorization from me. I told them to come dig up the tank and take it. They then proceeded to send me the same bill but from collections and said I still need to pay it even though they got the tanks and gas back!! They're saying it takes them the same amount of money to unload the gas. Completely sketchy. I recommend anyone with a policy to get out asap. Go to Southern Propane...
