Stripe is a terrible platform, and IT has no clue what they are doing. I accidentally made a typo on my email address, which created an account I couldn't access.

Stripe integrates with Pocket Vendor. Basically, Stripe canceled my account with a typo in it while a payment was captured from PV and in the Stripe account. I'd taken a payment not knowing I was locked out, and Stripe held the $300 in the account with the typo and then deleted it along with losing the payment. They threw PV under the bus, sending me multiple messages so sweetly not identifying my issue and blaming it on PV.

Halfway through they asked why I was contacting them after a month of back and forth. I sent screenshots with proof they had the money in a Stripe account that then disappeared, and then they blocked me and won't respond to any requests for help or a refund. This is ridiculous. $300 may not be much to them, but it is to a small business, and the fact they crucified their partner instead of taking responsibility is shameful corporate behavior.

They lost a customer's money, blamed a partner that helps them make money, and then gaslit me and blocked me. Well done, Stripe.

Classy move an very much a company that seems like it is run by functional adults who understand the concept of personal responsibility, integrity, and customer service. I am disgusted with this company and will not use them again.

Run. Away.

They are like most companies are these days. They profit off of those without a lot of money and screw up our economy. They are a very slimy payment platform that likes to eff over small businesses! Best to stay away.

I would rather *** myself with the entire place setting than be one of the tools that work there. Ick.

I RECEIVED NOTICE THAT SOMEONE TRIED TO LOG IN TO MY ACCT, I IMMEDIATELY REACHED OUT, AND THEY SENT ME A THING TO SEND A COPY OF MY LICENSE AND TAKE A PICTURE TO VERIFY ME. I DID IT AND IT REJECTED ME??

I WAS MY CURRENT LICENSE, and they rejected it, maybe because my hair is now longer, and i have gained 15 pounds? SO I TRIED AGAIN, NO RESPONSE TO MY SUBMISSION, SO I REACHED OUT, YOU CAN ONLY GET THEM BY EMAIL-EVEN NOT A CHAT OPTION IF YOU ARE NOT A VENDOR! SO I SIT FOR 3 DAYS, KNOWING SOMEONE HAS TRIED TO COMPROMISE MY ACCOUNT, AND I HAVE NO INFO, NO OPTION TO CONFIRM ANYTING, NO WAY TO STOP IT, NO WAY AT ALL TO CONTACT THEM, I TRIED AGAIN TODAY AND GOT A RESPONSE TO (FOR THE 3RD TIME NOE) COMPLETE THAT LICENSE/PICTURE THING-WHICH I HAD SUBMITTED FOR THE 3RD TIME 15 MINUTES PRIOR.

WHATEVER YOU DO- READ ALL OF THE 1 STAR REVIEWS ON ALL OF THESE WEBSITES... TRUST PILOT, ETC.

THIS IS THE WAY THEY DO BUSINESS- IT'S NOT A GLITCH- IT'S THE PROGRAM! THEY MAY SUE ME (GOOD LUCK- I'M AN AMERICAN AND I GOT NOTHING LEFT TO GET) BUT I HAVE TO SAY I AM WONDERING WTF KIND OF BUSINESS THIS IS???

Resolved: Not satisfied with the service.

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Contains 8 confidential files for company representatives

i'm a student at the University of North Texas, writing to express my frustration with Stripe after hiring a tutor. We began working together on December 2, 2024, and I attempted to pay for their services via Stripe on January 30, 2025.

Immediately after the payment was processed, Stripe started taking steps to close my tutor's account.

Despite completing all necessary verifications and submitting required documents, Stripe repeatedly placed my tutor's account on hold and refused to release the funds, causing immense stress and financial strain. The lack of a direct customer service number and the constant turnover of representatives made resolving this issue nearly impossible. Each time we felt progress was made, a new person would take over, leading to further delays.

Stripe has now withdrawn $13.68 from my tutor's account without their initiation, and the balance remains inaccessible. This situation is not only affecting my tutor's financial stabilitycovering rent, food, and medicationsbut has also led to significant stress, resulting in my tutor being hospitalized.

I respectfully request that they either release the funds to my tutor or return the payment to my bank account.

Your teams handling of this matter has been disappointing and raises concerns about the integrity of your service. We will not use Stripe in the future if this issue remains unresolved.

Stripe uses the expression "mum's the word" to justify discrimination

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

I have ample documentation to show about how I made efforts to register with Stripe. I was worried about giving my banking information to an unknown entity.

I even opened an extra bank account to minimize the risk. My reward: a response that my "business presents too much of a risk."

Business? In my now 73 years of life, I have never at any time owned or managed any sort of business! As for the "risk" part, I contacted Stripe repeatedly to ask what was the reason for the "risk," especially from a nonexistent business.

It was then that I was met with stony silence. No reason was ever given; I only had the meaningless statement about my "business presenting too much of a risk" parrotted to me over and over ad nauseam.

If there was a legitimate reason for the rejection, then revealing it would have been merely revealing a truth. However, the absence of any sort of answer is very suspicious. I have never had any sort of criminal history, and I do not have any pending charges against me.

If there is a reason, disclosing it to the rejected applicant would hardly be considered to be a criminal act. However, refusal to disclose anything is blatantly suspicious.

I have faced problems with fraudsters, but they are more numerous than the stars in the skies in the present day. If some fraudster has caused me harm again, normally, a person would know to report the incident; giving a fraudster's name might be problematic, however, because few frausters will make themselves easy to be identified. However, if that were the reason for the refusal, it does me no harm to be informed about it.

Not giving any sort of explanation, however, is a rather tacit way of hiding discrimination, and discrimination is also a plague in modern times.

Turning to law enforcement is not a guaranteed solution these days. I made such an attempt, but as someone told me, if it means relying on the government, I would be naive to think that any government agency would be of help unless I were to pay significant amounts of money for the help. Thet would leave litigation as the only other solution, but litigation is a costly method to resolve such conflicts, and it is also not a guaranteed solution as too many practitioners of the law do not hesitate to demand large payments as an "incentive" to render assistance. With that being the case, the song from Cabaret about how 'money makes the world go around" becomes a theme song for the process pursued.

No money means no help, and that is all too true in the modern day.

In the absence of any semblance of a justifiable reason for such rejection, I am forced to assume that I have been attempting to deal with a business with little or no integrity. My suspicion was, is, and will remain discrimination for reasons that are questionable if not outright illegal. Because I know not to expect assistance from law enforcement, I remain an innocent victim.

I see no chance of that ever changing unless I am surprised by some organization or agency that will consent to assist me to obtain a fully justified reason for the questionable treatment that I have been forced to endure. I do have honesty, integrity, and stability that have all been proven without question; I cannot say the same for Stripe.

Cons:
  • Dishonest dealings and doubtful ethics

Preferred solution: Minimum compensation of $5,000. WIth that, I would consider the case closed.

User's recommendation: Avoid any business that uses Stripe as an agent for managing payments because that can easily lead to no payment at all as it has for me.

Do NOT use this company for your company's CC processing. They make is WAY TOO difficult to get support when you need it.

There is no inbound phone number, and there is no live agent when you use the chat feature. It asks you to give your phone number with promises to call you back.

My company is putting through nearly $1M a year in credit card charges and paying a fair commission for Stripe to process those charges. It should not be so hard to get someone on the phone to deal with issues when they come up.

Preferred solution: A call back from someone on the support team to help solve my issue.

Yes. Your team contacted Stripe on my behalf. But I have yet to hear anything back.

Original review Feb 20, 2025

I run a holiday home rental business. In July last year, I had the misfortune of having two fraudulent customers.

One, it seems, probably used a bad card, the other, post-stay, disputed his card payments made three months earlier. Stripe gave me no help in trying to resolve these bad actors' claims. Rather, they determined that I was a risk and they would refund these bad actors and additionally close my account down. In doing so, they withheld more than $13,000 of good payments remaining in my account with them.

My payouts have been blocked since last August. I have been trying to get help with this, but unfortunately, all my inquiries (through chat and direct email to Stripe) have gone unanswered.

Can someone from Stripe please get back to me on william@***.com so I can understand what is going on and why $13,662.58 has been blocked for over six months? It is my understanding that you have no legal basis to hold my funds beyond 180 days and these should now have been released.

Customer of a business using Stripe

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

I have made a payment to Rugby & Travel via Stripe. I have tried to contact the business for details of when I should expect to receive my tickets for the 15th March 2025 rugby game but there is no trace of their contact site at secure@***.com - this worries me as I have hotel and travel booked as a gift.

I have made several attempts to get the business information from your support site but an error message directs me to contact your customer support.

Can you please advise me on who took this payment so I can contact them to be reassured that I will get the tickets.

Thank you in advance...Janet

No customer service information for company

I purchased an item from a company overseas. On the customer information page it states standard shipping with a payment method of Stripe.

I have been trying to get a tracking number for a while with no luck.

I was looking for a customer service number to see if they could help with no luck. If you can't talk to customer service I don't know how they can do business.
