Breach of Contract

Hiring Chace Nathaniel Thies, owner of Stoneworx LLC, was hands down the worst decision my husband and I could have made. We hired Chace Theis back in August 2024 to do a backyard project for us, at our forever home.

Chace began the process by telling us how experienced he was and making up completely fabricated lies. Chace told us that he was not only highly capable of taking on a project of this magnitude but would have it completed within 10-12 weeks per our CONTRACT (we are now today @ week 26 and it is less than half way complete). Chace immediately began asking for money, as he did not have the money or credit to pay for any materials or equipment the job required (HUGE RED FLAG). Because Chace was telling us how quickly the project would be completed, we decided to start the flow of money earlier than our contract required.

Next thing you know, Chace says he needs another $xx,xxx (had already given him $xxx, xxx prior), stating that he needed to buy materials such as Fencing, Lighting, Pavers etc. He said the equipment he rented was costing him a lot of money and they were using a lot fuel, basically just taking advantage of us and the situation. Again, being that all of this needed to be ordered and Chace telling us he didnt have the capital to order himself, we gave him more money. Like clock-work, Chace would then disappear for weeks.

We would call/text him and ask why he wasnt there and he would give us all kinds of excuses. He would also lose his temper when we asked him why he wasnt there. When he would show up, (for about 1-2 hours) Chace would get in my husbands face and scream at him telling him he was being unreasonable, which in all reality, we hired Chase Theis/ Stoneworx LLC to do our project and basically paid in full and yet we are the unreasonable ones here!

At this point, clarity was setting in and we began to realize that we had made a serious mistake hiring Chace Thies / Stoneworx LLC. Being that we had already paid him 90% of the money he was expected to receive for this project, we were stuck and had no choice but to try and work with Chace Thies.

After months of Chace showing up ALONE, for an hour or two once or twice a week, we started to see that this would never get finished. Chace would try to have workers show up and help him, but that never lasted too long. We probably met over a dozen workers and they would all quit within a day or two, due to Chace losing his temper with them and not paying them. Since Chace was only there for an hour or two at a time, my husband was able to talk to the workers and ask them questions.

ALL of them said they had just met Chace and did not have any experience doing what he had hired them to do. As you can imagine, hearing something like that made us sick!

My husband and I were losing sleep and becoming more and more nervous every day that passed. On March 29th, 2024 my husband flew his drone up above the project just to see what the ariel looked like. The plans that Chace provide were made from an ariel view not with a 3D software (Another RED FLAG, considering the magnitude of this project).

I wish I could say to our surprise, but our suspensions were accurate and yep, it looked terrible. The walls Chace Thies/ Stoneworx LLC was hired and paid to install were engineered to be straightits not even close. My husband sent the photos to Chace, and before he could even discuss options with him, Chace said he quit and was coming to get his equipment (brand-new skid steer, brand-new trailer, nice looking dump truck, all purchased with our money). When he arrived that day, my husband met him in the street and once again had to tolerate the unprofessionalism of Chace screaming and yelling in his face.

My husband felt he had no choice but to offer him MORE MONEY so he would take down the walls and fix the terrible job he did, enough though Chace should have been willing to correct his awful workmanship and improper installation in the first place! Instead of Chace taking full responsibility and acknowledging the obvious issue, Chase Theis/ Stoneworx LLC totally lost controlscreaming, yelling, and throwing a complete fit, yet again! After Chace fit, of course, he agreed to the extra money and said he would be back.

A couple of weeks go by and out of the blue Chace Thies and some people we had never seen before show up and start taking down the walls (Saturday). The following Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday were beautiful days, perfect weather.

On Wednesday my husband sent Chace a text message offering to help him since he did not have anyone else and had not been there all week. After a few hours of no response, my husband text again explaining the we had been waiting a long time for our project to be completed and wanted to know why he wasn't there finishing. Chace got very upset and said my husband was out of line for asking him such a thing. It was at this point that Chace decided to abandon the project completely.

Chace Thies/ Stoneworx LLC talks a big game but clearly is not capable of doing projects of this size or ANY for that matter.

Chace Theis/ Stoneworx LLC is not just unqualifiedhe is reckless, dishonest, and completely untrustworthy. Chace clearly has no grasp on professionalism, no business ethics, no attention to detail and frankly, serious emotional instability. This is a warning to anyone considering hiring him: DONT. Save yourself the stress, financial loss, and heartbreak.

He is a who should not be in business. Chace Thies/ Stoneworx LLC is a manipulative con artist and a compulsive liar that has stolen from our family, and he will steal from yours without any hesitation or remorse.

Thank you for your time in reading this.
