Customer service on this dealership service center is NON existent. Being in Birmingham on business trip my brand new Ford Explorer 2016 with 8,600 miles on it stalled in the middle of the traffic.
Likely nobody rear ended me and I escaped unharmed. It was real life threatening situation. Turned out Electronic Trottle Body broke down. Repair time to replace it is about 30 minutes.
This is common problem for most of Ford cars and it's unbelievable that they sell cars that are really DANGEROUS to drive. Just read the reviews. No recall for this problem is issued by Ford. Car was towed to the nearest Ford location Adamson Ford.
It all happened in Thursday around noon. Ford haven't offered any loaner car or arranged rental even when I asked for it. I explained that I'm in Birmingham on business trip and had to leave on Saturday morning. They promised to call me and update on the status of repair.
They never did. I had to call them Friday three times and asked and begged to fix my car so I could drive it home. Service advisor Bradley Evans acted like he doesn't give a *** about me and my problem. He told me that is the earliest they could even take a look on my car is Monday next week but he wasn't sure they will.
I had to drive rental car home and eventually drive back 300 miles to Birmingham to pick up my car when it is finally fixed. Buy Ford car or service it on Adamson Ford dealership service center only if you are into some sort of S&M and like to be treated like dirt.

Adamson Said I needed a new Engine For $5270... Took It Elsewhere And Turned Out To Be Minor Problem Fixed For $325
December 2013, I brought the truck in for a tune up. After the tune up, Adam in Service (no longer there) told me I needed a new starter & flywheel... even though it was starting fine. I agreed to the work and scheduled it for the next day ($800+)... but after I went home realized I did not need a new starter. I called and was told that Adamson would keep a 20% restocking fee for the parts.. I grudgingly agreed and finally got my refund (less 20%) six weeks later... but my confidence in Adamson's good faith was shaken. My truck still starts first time every time... even when it was 7 degrees in January.... so, clearly I did not need a starter.
On 4/11/14, I brought the truck back to Adamson because it was running/idling rough. After a couple of days of being told they were not sure what was wrong, on 4/15/14 Service called and said they thought I had cracked engine block and recommended I get a whole new engine. I asked him to send me a copy of the diagnosis and estimate for a new engine. He sent me the attached Word document... not even on Adamson letterhead... unprofessional and amateurish. I almost agreed to the new engine... but felt uneasy and told him I would come get my truck.
I took the truck to a mechanic, told them everything Adamson had told me. The mechanic quickly identified that an incorrect spark plug was in cylinder 3 and they cleaned the fuel injector. They ran all necessary tests to make sure there was no engine crack and tested the exhaust and scoped the engine... and said everything was fine. The mechanic could have easily said I needed a new engine, too - and done it for less that Adamson and made $4k... but they were very honest and fixed the minor problem for $325. The truck now runs perfectly.
If I had said yes to Adamson I would have been out over $5000 unnecessarily!
Beware! Unprofessional, deceitful swindlers
My husband purchased a used pick-up truck from an individual in December 2012. Prior to purchasing the vehicle, he took it to Adamson Ford and paid for a multi-point inspection.
This includes lights, fluid levels, battery performance, tire and brake wear, operation of steering and suspension, cooling system, exhaust system, wipers, and transmission. In January 2013, after driving the same truck less than two hundred miles within a month, my husband took the vehicle back to Adamson Ford to check into a couple of issues that he had noticed while driving the vehicle. He was certain that he needed a brake job, and wanted Adamson to check out problems he was having when accelerating. He was quoted a price over the phone for a brake job that was approximately half as much as what he was quoted after the inspection.
In addition Adamson noted several other items they claimed needed to be addressed that were not mentioned in the inspection in December including battery, belts, steering, and brakes. None of this was identified less than a month earlier. The grand total - $2200. Ouch!
My husband then told the employee who provided this information that he did not want Adamson working on the vehicle. The employee contradicted himself several times in explaining the pricing, and used profanity. The conversation ended with my husband telling the employee to get his truck ready for him to come and retrieve it. Upon arrival, this same employee that he talked with over the phone was confrontational with my husband.
After leaving the dealership, my husband called the manager of the service department and was subjected to more profanity. No effort was made by the manager to question or get to the root of the problem. After all of that drama (just to get a truck repaired), my husband and I were contacted by the police to inform him he had been trespassed and couldn't return to Adamson Ford. As if he would go back there!
A day later, my husband noticed that his odometer was not working.
Sabotage??? Consumer beware!!!!
Ford dealer installed extras scam
I purchased my first Ford from Adamson Ford in Birminigham Alabama the first of the year. When I got home and had a chance to review the car, I found that the 2 dealer installed extras that I paid for wer never installed on the car.
For months I have tried to get Adamson to correct the problem and still do not have the parts. They have said that it was a problem with Ford not delivering the parts when they order the vehicles and that this is a common problem with Ford. If anyone else has experienced this problem, please contact me and tell me your story.
We are evaluatiing a class action suit against Ford based on the dealers comments. Send your story to fordclassaction@***.com

Lousey service, unprofessional, three weeks to get part ordered wrong part, still waiting on a part.
I own a 2007 Ford Focus and have received terrible service from Adamson Ford in Birmingham Alabama. Took three weeks to get part in.
Ordered another part for something else and they sent the wrong part. They were to call when parts were in. I asked why they did not call, their answer "I lost your number". I am still waiting on a part, but I will not use this dealership again even though it is close to my office, nor will I refer anyone to them.
I am livid about the service I received. I feel they were unprofessional in dealing with me, and had a don't care attitude about the whole deal. He told me yester day it would only take a minute, afetr an hour I aksed him if it was ready, he said"It will take a lot longer, you need to leave it with us all day tomorrow too." Why did he not let me know this so I could get back to work sooner?
I am an hourly employee, time is money.

The salesman I bought the car from is NOW a friend of mine and works at another dealership in another town......they go hru people like water tru a spigot! The OWNER of this dealership is mostly NOT present and when you research it he is a very WEALTHY man in Birmingham....hard to believe he doesn't know what these guys are doing to him and his dealership....the ''inside''info I get is its a ''sliding'' out of custmomers dealership because other dealers are willing to at LEAST take care of the customer [I don't mind them asking for add ons I can always say no.
lol
I ask the tag license dept about why they were allowed to do business in Alabama and not collect and turn in.....she said its normal for some b Alabama only cares to collect it doesn't matter who from.
I called the manager som many times, looked him upon the lot , left messages and made sure they knew I WAS NOT going away...didn t have to pay a lawyer but that was the next step. good luck.
