Complaint about wait time for tests

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

For the last 4-5 months I have been losing weight at an alarming rate, even though I have been eating "like a pig"!

My physician has been trying to get tests to rule out cancer, BUT every time he sends an order in it takes at least a month to a month and a half to get any appointment!!! In the meantime I am still losing weight!

My complaint is: WHY the *** do I have to wait so long for an appointment??? I am 77 years old, and at the rate you people are moving, if I have something seriously wrong with me, it will probably be too late to treat me! My suggestion is to pay your CEO less money and put it into increased better paid staff so the wait is not so long!

If I die because your CEO wants to buy another yacht, I have instructed my surviving family to file law suits against you for your obvious lack of humanity in trying to save people's lives!!! Someone has to improve the medical care issue in this country so why shouldn't it be you???

Pros:
  • Pleasant staff despite being overworked
Cons:
  • Absurd waiting time between ordering test and getting it done

Preferred solution: Faster time between ordering test and getting it done

User's recommendation: Be patient! They take forever to provide test. Complain if they do.

Hospital Bills and experience

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

My name is August Pauliks. I gave birth at Good Samaritan Medical Center on October 28th, 2023.

You guys are requesting over my allotted deductible to be paid to you in a case where I would not even feel comfortable paying the deductible owed. I had a horrendous experience that lasted a week. I started labor the 24th and first went to your hospital the 25th and was admitted the 26th. I was released November 1st.

I have written a detailed account of what took place and would email that over to you. But for now I can tell you this was an absolutely horrendous experience. One that has made me not want to ever give birth again and I always believed kids should have siblings. It affected not only myself and my body but my parents, my family (even extended), my in laws, my significant others and his family.

My son is healthy but I was not. I had to endure days of labor. Some very rude and in my opinion incompetent staff members of yours. Just some stand outs are one nurse who yelled at me while in labor moments before my emergency c-section, an OB doctor who swore at me and called me a wimp, and a nurse on the post-partum side who physically tried to remove me from the toilet without knowing anything about my history or what was going on.

There is more which is included in my full detailed account including the name of that doctor. I had requested my records and there are some inconsistencies. As well as during my c-section I could feel everything, extreme pain until I was knocked out at which time my mother was removed from the room. I woke up and even with my mom immediately expressing concern for my color I was not given blood until the following night.

I had extreme diarrhea. I ended up on magnesium for high blood pressure only for 2 days after my release at my doctors office and had borderline low blood pressure. I was left extremely bruised from the first IV I had placed. It was bad enough that many medical professionals, including some of your own nurses and doctors were actually concerned and quite surprised at how it happened.

I can give you more information. You can call, text, or email me. I can send you my detailed account.

But given what I experienced I do not think I should have to pay on top of enduring that. My next step is to contact a malpractice attorney if we can not have this resolved.

I am unable to reach Steward about a bill they did not submit right to insurance and I do not want to have negative credit score because they did not bill insurance right. You can not reach them by phone, billing js done outside the facility so you can not get help there, and they did not respond to my email here.

Unacceptable treatment to my dad

My dad is an extremely delicate health patient, he had a very big heart attack on August 22, 22 and from that moment my father and we the family have had many stumbling blocks with a doctor who even told me on the phone that Im ignorant (there were people from the staff in front hearing everything I answered to the doctor, I never disrespected her, then a nurse gave my dad a medicine called Entresto before the hour and my dad almost got more complicated, now since yesterday We returned to the hospital again and the heart monitor that they put on my dad was put on without batteries, my dad was the one who noticed it, the nurse didn't even bring my dad a blanket to cover himself from the cold, nor did he help him change his clothes, nor change his pamper full of urine, I need to talk to someone from the management because I believe that they are working very poorly in this hospital and they play with the lives of human beings, my name is Yoanka Gonzalez.

Poor medical decision by doctor and lack of communication with health care proxy

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
My father was brought in by ambulance to the emergency room to receive steroids infusions. While in the emergency room the doctor took a chest X-ray and blood work . The X-ray showed bilateral pneumonia and the doctor saw the X-ray and gave my father antibiotics and also gave his 1gm of solomedrol daily . Instead of putting solumedrol on hold per request of family the doctor refuse . My father ended up getting worst . I went to visit my dad , on that day he was upset the Pt and doctor refuse to let his walk making him bed bound. They gave all his morning medication without my dad evening after my dad told them he was going take his medication after breakfast they made him take it before breakfast. That evening Dr. Singla from St Anne called saying she was going to put my dad on a breathing machine with a tube down his throat. I said no and told dr Singla to transfer my dad to Charlton memorial hospital to get the right care he needed . They should have never gave the steroids on top of his pneumonia. Dr. Singla refuse to sent my dad to Charlton Memorial Hospital saying they had no bed available in ICU. I told her that was a lie and told her that she was going to be held responsible if anything should happen to my dad . She was going against the Health Proxy request of a transfer. I work in the health field for 15+ years . I told her on the phone there no way there not one bed open when patients come in all the time in serious conditions due to accidents and have to go to ICU. Dr Singla hung up the phone with me. After 10 minutes Dr. Singla called me saying she called Charlton memorial hospital and pulled some string and got my dad a bed at ICU. My dad passed away 2 days later due to receiving the solumedrol steroids while having the bilateral pneumonia. St annes failed in the care of my dad and the request of the health proxy went out the door at st Annes. Definitely do not recommend this hospital to anyone. If you want your family members to live please send to another hospital for care.
