Car wouldn't start

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

I appreciate this tow and auto repair shop tremendously. My daughter works at the hospital 10 mins away and her car wouldn't start.

I was an hour away and couldn't get to her. She's a new driver, so she was panicking and again, I'm an hour away. I searched for the nearest towing company and found Steve Luongos! I appreciate you guys so much.

I spoke with my daughter several times while she was waiting, and she was so nervous. She called me back and told me how nice they were to her and was upfront and honest with her, they did not take advantage of her (like most mechanics do, speaking from experience). They were quick with towing her vehicle to the shop and getting her situated.

This is her first car and a lesson learnt for her, but I'm so grateful for Mark and Steve! Thank you so much!

Treated fairly with empathy, under the circumstances.

After my brother's fatal car accident in Glen Mills on September 6th, 2018, his car was towed to the above impound lot, which the Pennsylvania State Police use. Mark, Steve and Frank were very sympathetic, caring and accomodating, due to my circumstances.

Even while I was trying to open the trunk, an employee brought a crowbar to help and spent a considerable amount of time attempting to get it open.

We were unsuccessful and I had to remove all the contents of the trunk through the hinged foldable back seat. I don't know if I will ever need their services again, but I did not have a negative experience and it helps to be treated fairly.

Outrageous charges, money taken

My grandson was in accident and Luongo's towed his car. They charged an exorbitant fee, $477 for the short tow and 12 hours storage.

Money was missing from his vehicle and Luongo's blamed it on the police.

How can Aston township continue a contract with a company that is defaming their officers and accusing them of theft? I, as most people, believe our sworn officers of the peace are trustworthy, not so much rude tow service operators who honesty is proven by the unfounded charges they impose on people when they are in a debilitated condition and unable to help themselves.

UNPROFESSIONAL AND RUDE

My son was stranded and I called for their services and the gentleman named MARK was very rude and short and declined service with no explanation and hung up on me. I tried to call back and speak with Mr.

Luongo to file a complaint and Mark said that I can only get to Mr. Luongo "thru him" so I left the message with him. Needless to say Mr Luongo never returned my call....how many want to bet that Mr. Luongo never got my message?

Overall, the customer service was poor and highly unprofessional, especially for a mother with a child stranded in another state.

I try to patronize local businesses but in this situation, it was not favorable. MANY THANKS TO PEP BOYS FOR THEIR PROFESSIONAL AND COURTEOUS SERVICES.

Post Accident Tow Money Making Scam in Aston Township

SHAME ON YOU, LUONGO'S TOWING, Media, PA.

SHAME ON YOU, ASTON TOWNSHIP/POLICE

Having an accident is bad enough. Having your rights ignored makes it worse. If you have a car accident in Aston Township, unlike anywhere else in the state of Pennsylvania that I have encountered, your vehicle will be towed by Luongo's Towing of Media. You will not have the choice or an option to have your own towing company come for your car including your roadside assistance or the dealership. You will be forced to use Luongo's and they will arrive immediately.

The police officer on scene will discourage or completely ignore your request for alternate assistance. He/she will site a number of safety issues as to why your vehicle needs to be towed immediately by Luongos who no doubt will already be at the scene.

Once your vehicle is on their tow truck, you will NOT have the right to have your vehicle towed to a near by repair shop, storage facility, or dealership of your choosing. Effectively, they are not a towing service, they are a "tow only to Luongo's" service. This allows them to rack up large towing fees, storage fees and administrative fees knowing that the insurance company will add all towing fees to the accident claim.

The Real Money Maker....

Additionally, they will only release the vehicle to the registered owner of the vehicle who is likely too injured to go claim the vehicle at the Police Department. They will not allow a family member, A mother, a father, A husband or wife to claim the vehicle. So if the driver/owner is in the hospital or otherwise incapacitated as a result of the accident, the vehicle will remain in storage for the duration of their recovery allowing for gross overnight storage fees to accumulate.

Luongo's Towing Will tell you that the Aston Police contract mandates all vehicles towed be taken to a Luongos operated lot ignoring your right to have your vehicle towed to any repair shop of your choosing. (assuming the vehicle was not part of a crime scene, confiscated as evidence, or part of an ongoing police investigation)

Your dealership, your insurance company, nor your body shop Will be permitted to release your vehicle in your stead.

Luongos Towing is in contract with Aston Township/Aston Township Police Department to provide the service that is very much needed after an accident. However certain unknown circumstances have allowed this contract to put the rights and the benefits of the people aside... It has created a captive profit cycle for Luongos. Creating more difficulties and anxiety for the accident victims at a time when they need assistance and compassion at a fair price.

I don't know why Aston Township and Aston Township police continue to allow this in their township... I don't know why a Township contractor has been granted the ability to override the rights of taxpayers forcing a particular service on them when the car is not being detained... BUT WE ARE GOING TO FIND OUT!

Disgraceful. I'd like to see one of the Aston cops or State Police family members railroaded like this. I'm sure that'd never happen.

Overcharging and Excessive Fees

After an accident, Steve Luongo's Towing, Inc towed my damaged car, under contract from Nether Providence Township. They are under contract to charge specific amounts for that service.

However, Steve Luongo has padded those amounts with unnecessary fees like "flat rate fee" - $15, "lot fee" - $25, "weekend fee" - $95, and a storage fee for each calendar date, not 24 hour period. In other words, if they hold a vehicle over night, the fee will be $100, even though it may be less than 12 hours. I don't mind paying for the tow - and that tow would have been $125.

But in his creative fee structure, Steve Luongo has turned a $125 tow into $360. If you looked-up unethical in the dictionary, you'd see his picture.
