Left without transportation

10/01/18_I drove and dropped my truck with Sterling McCall Restoration Center working. No oil leaks, vibration of wheel, or codes. 10/31/18_Repairs were completed. Pick-up truck and stopping. Called SMRC and spoke with Steve. R. He had truck towed back to them. 11/01/18_My husband went back to find out what was going on. Steve stated there was no oil in the truck and the seal was bad. Untrue. From 11/01/18 thru 11/09/18, my truck was with them. The insurance company were disputing it was not cause doing the accident. Art Vitek had the truck transferred to SMAC. 11/13/18 thru 12/13/18_The truck remained with them. 12/12/18_I give authorization for Bobby Jarrett to take pictures and fix the seal. He walked us over the Phillip Nguyen Tech. He introduced us, explained I need wanted and needed pictures for the insurance claims, and wanted to see what was going on. 12/13/18_I came to SMAC to get an update. Bobby was not there. Therefore, I spoke with Phillip. Phillip explained, “Your truck would not be ready until later on that day. I ask about the pictures. Phillips said, "I have them ready when you pick-up the truck". He said, "I call you when it is ready. I responded, "Ok". Phillip called and say the truck was ready. I went to SMAC to pick up the truck. Bobby was in his office. He said, "The truck should be ready. I ask to test the truck. He said, "No" and "You need to paid for it first". I responded, "I do not want to pay for something not working". He said, “It’s working". I responded, "Why can't I test it". He replied, "I cannot let you back there" and "You need to pay first". We went and paid $849.00. My insurance company sent a check for $404.00 and we paid the remaining balance. We came back out and Bobby was gone. We walked over to Phillip. Phillip responded, "Someone will bring the truck to you". I said, "Fine" and "I need to test the truck first. Phillip said, "Why". I explained, "You guys were supposed to take pictures, per my request" and Bobby and you agreed. He said, "I cannot let you test the truck". I responded, "Am not leaving here until, I test the truck". He replied, "Ok". Phillip started explaining that there was oil sludge in the engine. I responded, "No one has never told me that before". Phillip responded, "We just found out when we took the transmission a part". I ask how it got there. Phillip responded, "Not changing the oil". I explained, "We just purchased the truck in May 2018 and where are my pictures. Phillip responded, "There was no need to take pictures". I responded, "I need the pictures to find out what was going on the truck and for the insurances". He said, "Here are the keys". We entered into the truck. I started the truck and it was make noise. I ask, "Phillip, What is that noise?” Phillip responded, "I do not hear anything". I replied, "You do not hear that noise". Phillip responded, "No". I continue to driving the truck. Phillip ask what auto shop did you have the truck?” I replied, "It was not at an auto shop" and "We dropped it off at SMRC." I drove back to the auto center and parked the truck in the shop. Phillip replied," I will talk to Bobby". It was taking to longer for me. Therefore, I exited the truck and went to talk to Bobby. Bobby said, "We can fix your truck". I responded, “I just paid $848.00 for that did not fix the problem". Bobby replied, "I never said it would fix your problems". I responded,” I did not have that problem from the very beginning”. I said, "You guys where driving the truck and why didn't you guys hear that noise". Bobby said nothing. I replied," What am I supposed to do?” He said, "You need to contact your insurance for more money". I responded, "I do not have the pictures to show them". He said, “Well, that what you have to do”. I left Bobby's office and the truck there. 12-15-18_I called the lienholder and has them back the truck from SMAC. I called and informed them the La Strata Auto was pick up the truck”. 12-21-18_I Contacted corporate offices and they sent a complaint to SMAC. 12-26-18_Jason Edwards from SMAC called me. We spoke briefly. Jason said, "We are refunding any money" and "I need to go back to SMRC for the car rental refund. I tried explained that I never had an oil leak, noise from the engine or wheel vibration. Jason was very insidious. He would not let me finish talking and kept interrupting me. Finally, he said, "Am ending this call.

Sterling Mccall Restoration Center Repair Service Review from Houston, Texas
A few days ago I was involved in a wreck. I decided to take my car to Sterling McCall Restoration Center (12202 Murphy Road) to get it fix. I got my car back and today I noticed the back driver‘s side tire had a huge bubble. The same tire Toyota fixed the rim. I took the car to a tire-shop and was told the tired was severely damage in the inner edge. The only logical explanation is that Sterling McCall shop damaged the tire and put it back together without saying anything. The tire is missing pieces of rubber to where a few layers of wire are visible. I called Sterling McCall to file a complaint. After explaining the situation and texting clear pictures of the damages in the tire the supervisor told me they will never do something like. He got attitude and was trying to make it sound like I was lying. I told him that they had put my life in seriously danger, but he did not show any concern nor even apologized. His best answer was “my supervisor is on vacation and there is almost nothing I can do for you until his return. I am very upset as the tire could blowout on the freeway at any time and they knew about it. How is it possible that they played with someone's safety like that, and on top get a bad attitude when I called to ask for an explanation and help? I have pictures of the tire and would like to show them to the public as this is something very serious but evidently Sterling McCall don’t care a bit about the trust we deposit when taking out cars to be fix at their facility.
