DECEPTIVE AND UNFAIR PRACTICES

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

FIRST OF ALL I AM A 3RD TIME NISSAN OWNER. ON THIS PAST SATURDAY I PURCHASED A 2021 NISSAN ALTIMA, NOT BEING OFFERED A TEST DRIVE OF THE VEHICLE.

(I SHOULD HAVE REQUESTED) MY FAULT. IN FINANCE I REQUESTED GAP INSURANCE, I WAS THEN GIVEN A TABLET WITH 5 DIFFERENT OPTIONS. I WAS DECEPTIVELY TOLD IN ORDER TO GET THE GAP I HAD TO PURCHASE THE PREFFERED PACKAGE THAT INCLUDED THE GAP, THAT PACKAGE INCLUDED THE SCHEDULED MAINTENENCE, UNKNOWN TO ME IT ALSO INCLUDED AN EXTENDED WARRANTY. I ASK THE FINANCE MANAGER A SECOND TIME, DO I HAVE TO GET THIS PACKAGE IN ORDER TO GET THE GAP INSURANCE AGAIN HE TOLD ME YES.

IT WAS NOT UNTIL I ATTEMPTED TO BRING THE VEHICLE BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP AND BACK OUT OF THE VEHICLE, THAT I WAS TOLD I HAD PURCHASED AN EXTENDED WARRANTY THAT I DID NOT NEED OR WANT. THEY DID NOTHING TO MAKE ME A SATISFIED CUSTOMER, SAID THE DEAL WAS DONE AND IT WAS NOW MY VEHICLE. THEY TOLD ME TO CANCEL THE SERVICE CONTRACT ONCE I RECEIVED THE PAPERWORK. THIS $4803 SERVICE WARRANTY DID IMPACT MY PAYMENT OF $600.19 FOR ME WITH A 750 FICO SCORE, ON A ALTIMA.

I WAS NOT ALLOWED TO EVEN VIEW WHAT I WAS SIGNING, JUST TOLD SIGN HERE SIGN HERE. WORST CAR BUYING EXPERIENCE I HAVE EVER HAD.LET ME SAY IF I HAD TEST DROVE THE VEHICLE, I WOULD NOT HAVE PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE. MY 2009 MAXIMA, DRIVES AND RIDES BETTER THAN THIS 2021 ALTIMA. I WOULD NEVER PURCHASE ANOTHER VEHICLE FROM HERE AND ADVISE OTHERS TO DO LIKEWISE.

WATCH WHAT THEY ARE DOING ADDING NOW NITROGEN TO THE TIRES THAT YOU HAVE TO TAKE BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP AT A COST OF $355.00, WHEEL LOCKS AT $295.00, WHEN I PURCHASED FROM THEM FOR $45.00 FOR MY MAXIMA, WINDOW TINT ADDED AT $345.00, THAT CAN BE DONE FOR $150.00.

THEY ARE A RIP OFF PLAIN AND SIMPLE. DO NOT BUY FROM THIS DEALERSHIP PERIOD.ALSO ON A BRAND NEW VEHICLE THE HOOD HAD A 2 INCH GAP ON THE PASSENGER SIDE THAT I HAD TO LEAVE THERE FOR AN ADJUSTMENT

A week sending my car to repair, no update from the dealership.

Original review Mar 26, 2015

NISSAN BUYERS BEAWARE! POOR DESIGNED VEHICLE! TERRIBLE AFTER SALES/CUSTOMER SERVICE! DO NOT PURCHASE YOUR VEHICLE FROM STERLING MCCALL!!! If you are about to purchase a Nissan car or thinking to buy one, please read my story carefully!

I purchased my brand new Nissan Altima 2015 in late October last year, used it for daily commute to work which is only about 25 mins away from home. I was happy with it until my first oil change at the dealership, Sterling McCall Nissan on Hwy 59 Stafford TX, 2 weeks ago. My car engine died 3 days after the oil change, please note that I am talking about a brand new vehicle which I just bought for about 5 months and has only 5000ish miles on it.

This is how it happened. I did my first oil change on a Saturday, did not drive the car on Sunday. Then on Tuesday, while driving on highway, a warning sign “LOW OIL PRESSURE” showed up, the car then stops and I was still in the middle of road. IT WAS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS!!! Luckily, other cars avoid me and I was able to get off the road safely. My friend and I called towing service and got the car to dealership, then checked the dipstick by engine and realized that IT IS COMPLETELY DRY….!!! At this point I seriously assume the dealership drain the engine oil and forgot to add new oil during the oil change 3 days ago.

So we waited hours at Sterling McCall services, finally the service consultant came asked us to leave the car for investigation, said that they will contact me soon (so why don’t they just said this when we walked in? and not to have us waste our time waiting there?). Anyways, I waited all day Wednesday but no calls at all, so I called service center myself, the consultant told me that they are still trying to find out the issue. Then I waited again until Thursday afternoon (it really bothered me that they did not provide me a rental car at this point, I had to ask around for help while wait for the response), I called again to check the status. This time, they just said they will replace my engine and nothing else. It is covered warranty, but I will have to wait approximately 3 weeks (or maybe longer!) for my car to be fixed.

SO a new car with engine died at 5000ish miles. I know I can’t just assume Sterling McCall messed up my car during the oil change because they avoid to answer my question “why there is no engine oil in the car?” But even if not, it would still be sucks for a brand new, just out of factory vehicle, to die in 5 months.

So my car will be fixed BUT with a major repair on my car record, which depreciates my car value. I am NOT happy with this and TRULY DISAPPOINTED with Nissan’s service center!!!!!!

I just want to share my story, so buyers like me can be aware of what could happen!

If you are to purchase a new car, make sure to go with a bigger brand/more reliable car company so you won’t get a bad lemon car or let unreliable dealership service center mess up your car!!!

Bad workmanship/repair

Took my hummer in for paint warranty work because the first time they painted it, the clearcoat peeled. They missed painting complete areas, overspray on windows, molding, and interior.

When I pointed it out, and demanded it be redone, they did a worse job. It came back with windows scratched by sander, roof moldings weren't replaced properly, hood louver clips were gone, chrome brush guard was scratched by sander, gear shift leather boot was deteriorated and ripped by then trying to clean off the overspray. Misding a front mud guard. Paint job still has swirl marks and orange peel appearance.

They refuse to do anymore work, saying that it was the best that they could do.

I was accused by the bodyshop manager of beinh too picky! Horrible work, don't let them touch your vehicle !!!!

Lemon Law

Just to let you know, Sterling McCall Nissan is in Stafford TX, not Houston. Also, there is a state lemon law and I don't know how you get it enforced, but I suggest you find out and try that for a matter of recourse.

Good for you setting up this web site for your complaint. I bought a lemon before, also. But mine was a different dealership and long before the Lemon Law. Good luck getting this resolved.

I would recommend you contact the Nissan company if this is a new car.

If used, i don't know who you would call.

Sterling McCall Houston,Texas

We purchased a Nissan car at Sterling McCall Houston,Texas 6 month's ago We have had the care in the shop 5 times for the same problem. The car is still under warranty and now they will not fix it.

The customer service manage is a real smart *** and the service writer does not have a clue about cars. I have bought several cars there but this will be my very last and just want to let everyone know we bought a lemon from Sterling McCall and we will let everyone we know not to do buisness with this company.I hope these people and this company have to face what we have gone through and they will it is just a matter of time

Just bought a Murano from Sterling Mccall 5 weeks ago. They told me it was certified, and there was a CERTIFIED USED NISSAN sign on the window!

Low and behold today when I took it into the shop for a strutt that was damaged that happened to be caught by accident when I was getting my tires changed, the technician refused to fix it because there was no record of the vehicle being certified.

And this is after the sales director was raving about how detailed their certification process was when I was buying the car and knocking on Baker Nissan for selling uncertified cars!

I am planning on suing!
