Sterling Automotive Customer Care Review

AI Highlights
  • Transmission issues on a car under 2 years; second visit.
  • Poor service and disrespectful staff; no rental help after hours.

I have purchased three vechiles at Sterling Automotive in Opelousas Louisiana, all great experiences. However, I can not say that as of today . My vehicle is not even 2 years old and I am having problems with the transmission. As a matter of fact, this is the second time that I had to bring the car in. The service was horrible and a few of the employees were out right disrespectful, referring to me as babe and hunney. I was told that was because they were born and raised in the South. How ridiculous is that! I called to check on my vehicle several times and they hung up the phone. Then, I was told that they would give me a rental car. They needed the declaration page of my insurance. It was after 5 o'clock, the insurance company was closed. The lady assisting me called the owner, who stated all I can do is offer her a ride home. This would leave me without any transportation because my husband works at night. Sterling Automotive is always stating that the service is great after you purchase a vehicle , that's nonsense, the service is horrible!!!!!!!!!!!

this is the second time

Would not honor factory coupons for oil change

AI Highlights
  • Sterling Hyundai, Lafayette, LA refused a $40 factory coupon valid 48,000–51,000 miles.
  • Courtesy Hyundai previously serviced the car per plan.

When a new car company takes over a dealership is the new company required to honor factory discount coupons given at time of purchase?

The new Hyundai dealership which took over the original place where I bought my car refused my $40.00 discount coupon sent to me by the factory when I purchased the car new. This coupon states "Valid between 48,000 and 51,000 miles."

The original seller has taken care of my car with regular check ups according to my automotive maintenance plan.

Previous dealership: Courtesy Hyundai

Present dealership: Sterling Hyundai

Both located in Lafayette Louisiana
