Hi A month ago I went to Jackson Square for a walk and purchased two pairs of sandals. The first pair started ripping from the side and they were kind enough to exchange. It took me over 3 visits to have them changed. Now the new pair that I just exchanged for the other broken pair is doing the same thing. I would not recommend this store to anyone the quality of the shoes is horrible I guess you pay for what you get. I am so disappointed shoes should last longer then one or two weeks. Very very disappointed and will never shop here again, Horrible service

My daugter and I went graduation shopping at Eastgate Square in Hamilton. We purchased the dress first then qent shoe shopping. My daughter saw these heels so she tried them on and said I like these I told her let's look around the mall first the young lady working said there isn't any other shoe store's in this mall. We purchased the shoes continued on shopping and low and behold there were several store's caring heels. So we went back to Stepps to return her shoes based on her lies. The girl said sorry no refund only exchange I said you never mentioned that to me nore is there a sign stating that. It's printed on the back of the receipt. "Little late". I told the girl that there should be a sign posted at the cash register. The receipt doesn't say anything about exchange with equal or greater value. So I said to my daughter with a wink how about these they were have the price of the other's. My daughter agreed the girl called her manager spoke in english then switched to some foreign tongue right in front of us. The girl got off the phone and said only store credit if the exchanged item is less than original purchase. DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM THIS STORE OR ANY STEPPS BY WHAT I'VE READ IN OTHER REVIEW'S AFTER MY EXPERIENCE. THERE IS A REASON THEY ARE NOT APART OF THE BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU.

Apparently they have a no return policy but don't let their customers know about it. I tried to return boots and they wouldn't take them back because they have a tiny sign hidden in the back side wall where no one looks and they use this to say it's policy. The store manager wouldn't even talk to me. She left two young girls there to deal with my anger. I hadn't even taken them out of the box they came in. Nobody has this policy anymore.... I even return a scratch and dent clothes drier to a store with no questions asked. Stay away from this store.... They have no scruples!!!!! They are the worst store ever.

That is really looks like Indian story ,!!!!!!! I alway shop at that store with all my friends , we alway get the best deals ever and good quality , I got my boot a month ago ( it's Steve Madden brand ) for 89$ only!!! The regular price for that shoe from Steve Madden website is 135$ , I got All my shoes from Stepss I never have a problem with their returning policy I did exchange to many time and we got the best customer service ever specialty when the manager is their he alway give us a good deal and he give all my friends free store credit !! STEPS SHOES REVIEW - WORST STORE EVER

You can find all of their shoes at the flea market for $15-20 and they sell them for anywhere from $110-130... They have the worst quality in the world all their shoes are from China they are way over priced and often have many damages or even nails sticking out the bottom. I even cut my toe on it once. They tell their employees to lie to people about how their shoes are water resistant and -25 below. When in reality these shoes are not water resistant at all and actually are the opposite. Your feet are likely to just freeze in their shoes. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND NO ONE BUY THEIR SHOES. HAVING WORKED THERE FOR A YEAR LET ME BE THE FIRST TO TELL YOU THEY SUCK!! THEIR POLICY SUCKS ONLY BECAUSE THEIR SHOES DO AND ONCE THEY GET YOU TO BUY THEM THEY TRAP YOU!!!!

Stepss - Defective Sandals Review

Same story! This is my email to their customerservice@***.ca I think that after reading several reviews they will ignore me :( I bought a pair of sandals on July 16, 2014 at your Oshawa, Ontario location. Two weeks later they broke. I only wore them indoors in my office. I took them back to the store unaware that your policy is no refunds. I demanded a refund as this product is defective. I don't want an exchange. The manager has no authority to refund customers. She took my name and my phone number and said that she would call me back as she needed an authorization to do a refund. She also took my sandals. So now I have no sandals and no money. It's been one week with no phone call. I have answering machines on both my cell and home phone. I decided to call the store just now to ask what is going on. They have no idea who I am or what happened and the store owner is gone on vacation until the end of the month! How convenient. I want my money back now! What kind of customer service is this? I would also like your head office phone number.

Rude employee

I was trying on boots as one does in a shoe store..(the Dufferin Mall location,) and I had returned a third pair saying they did not fit, and was waiting on a fourth. The employee then said "Ok, are you sure you want to try these, because like I don't want to keep going back and forth to get you another pair". Thinking I must have misunderstood, i replied "Im sorry? " To which she responded.. "This is the fourth time I've had to go to the back". I then said "Ok, and as I understand, having worked in a shoe store myself, that's your job" to which I was met with "whatever". When I asked to speak to a manager..lo and behold, she's the manager. I had the same difficulty getting hold of a number for head office to place a complaint. Stepss.. if you don't get your act together and hire people who have customer relations skills.. you will go out of business. You've certainly lost mine.

this store is the worst with customer service and also with keeping their employees. firstly i would like to say that no one and i mean absolutely no one should buy anything from this store, be it shoes or bags.

their shoes are highly overpriced and inferior quality, please disregard any advice from a sweet talking airhead masquerading as an employee. their so called guess bags are *** and the store is just there to rip off people. how do i know? i worked at this store for some time and experienced all this first hand.

don't even dream of having a good working experience at the store, they are only nice to employees who can be easily manipulated. they threaten to dock pays and the owners act like they are gods. they act like they are gurus in the business of retail, mean while they're just idiots who got lucky. they fire the good staff and keep the fools who slash prices off items to make sales thus putting the store in a deficit.

i am far from being a disgruntled employee, i actually enjoyed the stupidity i was surrounded by for a time. i mean, i made good money and i met really nice people. but i decided to move on.

To stepss, i'll say to carry on in the business of trickery and robbery as no one can really do anything about it, we can only hope for bad karma to do what it does best. an advice though, would be to try to be smart and hire people with a knack for retail and not those drunkards veiled by make-up and high whiny voices, who are only concerned with making money for the next party.

Terrible Management

I am going to set aside my issue that I have with their "No Returns" policy for a minute and tell you my major issue: the Store Manager. When I returned to the store the next day to try to resolve my issue, the Sales Associate called the Store Manager to discuss it. I wanted to explain my issue, so I asked if I could have a word with the manager. The Sales Associate asked the manager if she would speak to me and she flat out REFUSED. I find that kind of conduct appalling and unprofessional and will never shop at Stepss again. The Sales Associates were helpful and friendly, fyi. It was just management that doesn't seem to know how to handle customers.

Do not trust their Return Policy!!!

Purchased three pairs of boots all listed at $170/each at the Windsor location during their buy 1 get 2 free sale. I told the manager that I wasn't from Windsor and asked him if I could exchange 1 of the 3 pairs at another location, and he told me "Yes, no problem! London has a location". He also said he would extend the exchange policy to 30 days instead of the 14 days for exchange but did not indicate this on the receipt. When I went to the London Stepss location just 1 WEEK after making my purchase at the Windsor location, they would not exchange my boots for another pair of the same value because I was only returning 1 of the 3 pairs, so they would only honor $64 ($170+tax divided by 3). The manager then called the Windsor manager and had a length conversation with him in the back room of the store, so I could not hear, then gave me the phone to speak with the manager from Windsor, who went on to say that he did not say that I could return the boots at the same value and gave me the same *** spiel about $64. So the value of an overpriced $170 pair of boots drops its value down to $64 because I only wanted to return one pair? So I told him fine, I'll return ALL THREE pairs, purchase back the two that I wanted to keep and still exchange the pair I didn't want for the same value in another pair of boots. Despite offering to return ALL THREE as per their "policy", he said no I cannot do that, the buy 1 get 2 free is FINAL sale. Well, no where on my receipt does it say FINAL sale, nor does their policy say that you have to return ALL three pairs of shoes to exchange the same value of boots for another pair. The manager at the White Oaks Mall - Sahal, went on to tell me that he had a 3 way conversation with their head office and the manager at the Windsor location - Abdula, and told me that the only thing that they could do for me was return all three and give me a credit of $170+tax. When I asked for their head office number, he gave me their store business card and told me that I cannot call head office from their store and that I could find their number on the website provided on their card. Well, when I looked up their website on my phone, the website said "coming soon". When I went back into the store just a few minutes later, their sales clerk told me he just left. When I asked her for the head office number, she told me she had to call her boss for the number. After a length discussion with him over the phone, she gave me a website and told me that their head office did not have a number. Pardon? A head office doesn't have a number? Are you kidding me? Everything about this situation says BAD BUSINESS all over it! Do not waste your time at this terrible store. They will rip you off to their best of their lying abilities.

Adding to the above, the email address for their head office (director@***.ca) does not even exist. And their web address on their business card (www.stepssshoes.com) is "Coming Soon" and does not provide a head office contact number.

I worked for stepss for about 4 months and gave them everything I had and worked my butt off for them.. The problem being is that I never once a got paid on time and the check were always late at least 3 days which when your working to live that doesn't work.. As well the owner would tell people don't cash your heck for a few days which was not right!!! I would like to tall anyone thinking of apply to any steps be very careful as I wouldn't want this to happen to you!!! I don't believe that is right for any employer to be able to hold or not give out checks when they are due as an employee we have the right to get paid on time.

STEPSS SHOES STORE , TERRIBLE COSTUMER SERVICE

This Review is about STEPSS the shoe store. I bought a pair of sandels from STEPSS in square one mall. I took them home and walked around in them for five mineuts to see if anything changed, and it didn't, infact I got six blisters on my feet. The shoes felt like I was walking on a piece of wood, there was no cushioning at all. I paid $60 for these shoes. I took them back three weeks later because I was out of town for two weeks. I gave sales person the recipt and asked for an exchange. He asked me if they were worn and I said no. He then goes on to saying that he is not a nice person. I just stood there being yelled at and being told that I am a lier. The guy then went on to threatening me saying he would call security because he did not need to deal with liers, and that he didn't care if I spoke to the store manager because he wouldn't lose his job. This guy was extremly rude and when I was leaving I turned and said I made a big mistake coming to this store and the man said I am so sorry you made that mistake. DOES THIS STORE NOT HAVE A CODE OF CONDUCT FOR ITS EMPLOYEES?? APPERANTLY NOT!!! DOES THIS

I bought a pair of boots at the Guelph store on the day it closed and the clerk gave me 2 left boots that I didn't notice until I got home. I've spent several days trying to fix this problem.

None of the numbers from the website or customer service has yielded any result.

i shopped for shoes and they gave wrong sizes. when i checked it at home and return it the next day, they said that there's no more sizes avail and said they wont give refund, just exchange.

i dont like any of their shoes aside the ones i bought and i cant believe i cant get my money back in less than 48 hrs of buying it. i spent almost $300 and the manager Ashley said its not her problem anymore.

Something similar happened to my mother just recently. She bought multiple pairs of boots at Stepps in Carlingwood, Ottawa.

Paid over $200 and then went to another store. She saw another pair of boots she liked better. She immediately went back to return the boots from Stepss and of course they wouldn't giver her a refund. Even though she bought them only 15 minutes earlier!!

She never wore them. And they never explained to her that there were no refunds. My mom asked to speak to the manager. The salesperson got the manager on the phone but was just as rude to my mother.

My 71 year old mother was beside herself and couldn't believe what was happening. She told the salesperson she wouldn't leave until she got a refund. Well the salesperson then called security and had my mother escorted out. Because she wanted to return boots she just got 15 minutes earlier!!

Oh and the kicker, my mom asked for a number for their head office to file a complaint…the lady gave her a number which my mother tried to call after the ordeal and it was to a construction company! All I can say is NEVER buy shoes from this place!!

Horrible customer service and ridiculous return policies!! I don't know how they sleep at night.

I would just like to take the oppuranity to say that we at steps try our best to help customers and customer policy is to keep everyone happy.

Both occasions you were at fault. Not trying to be mean.

1. In Canada you have a 10 day "change of mind" policy - both of you lacked that and didn't return them in that time frame ( not the stores fault that you left on a vacation)

2. If you walked in them at the mall- it means you USED them. When you buy something , you generally walk in them in store - blisters happen big deal!! Suck it up princess.

3. You bought the boot without looking at it? Not our fault ! That is why in the BBB they ask you to look closely at what you are buying before you go ahead.

Learn from your mistakes - instead of complaining online like children

It says on the receipt you have 30 days for a exchange or refund, it shouldnt matter if they are worn or not if i pay a lot of money for a pair of shoes and they break in 1 use *** straight i want a friggen refund or exchange and im sure if you were in the same situation you would want the same.

This company is over pricing pieces of garbage and ripping people off.

And they hire a bunch of air head women to work there. Go spend over $100 on a pair of shoes and have them break after one day and see how it feels ***.

You ***?? I literally bought a pair of shoes yesterday and even BEFORE buying them I asked the employee working there if I could refund them if I decided against it, she said "yes of course, just don't wear them outside".

Today, I went back to return them because I just wasn't feelin em anymore (didn't even wear em around the house) and I get told no refunds by another employee. I explained the situation and told her it's not exactly my fault if the person working there LITERALLY tells me otherwise. But no. No refund.

Why? No *** clue.

Either way I hope Stepss goes under alond with all y'all smarmy losers that work there. Lol byeee ***
