Broken car

I bought my car from them about a month and a half ago I love the car and it drives like a dream but it started getting a bit sluggish and gittery. It was making groaning noises and the gear changed become slow and almost threw the car forward when it changed gear. Not too longer after this started the engine light came on and y car lost all power. It would not go over 20 miles per hour (or so) and would just rev like mad if I tried to get it moving. Scarily this happened as I was pulling out at a round-a-bout which was pretty scary. I now have no idea what to do? Should I even be paying to have the car repaired when I only bought it a month ago? Should have this even happened? Don't really know how to move forward with this as I currently have no car to drive!

Not too helpful

I have needed a few parts for my car of late and used their parts department in Enfield. The chap on the end of the phone didn't really seem too sure what part my car needed and seemed unsure as to what bit to order so I said I'd bring the car in to help the situation. When I got there the situation wasn't helped and staff were still unsure what part was needed. Although a part was ordered and my car is fine now all the faffing around and hanging about annoyed me it could have just been solved long before it was if there wasn't so much faffing about.

VERY DISAPOINTED GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE SHOCKING CAR!

Very unimpressed with this company. At first the customer service the knowledge about the car was brilliant although I did feel rushed. I was purchasing the car last month as a belated valentine's day present for my girlfriend. When I reached there site after a two hour drive after seeing some cars on there website, I was not happy with the lack of cars that were actually on there site compared to the amount that was on there website. When asking the sales guy where I could find a BMW X1, he pointed me in the right direction after about 45 minuets of looking at the cars I decided to purchase a 60 plate BMW x1 with low mileage for a reasonable price. I was very happy until I came to collect the vehicle!! I understand the wear and tear on used vehicles but this is just unacceptable, I had brought my girlfriend with me to show her the vehicle when arriving there was a dent in the side which looked like a car had hit it while moving from the forecourt, they had not cleaned the vehicle and was mud and dirt all over the floor and seats. 2 miles into the drive home the engine management light appeared and the ABS lights started flashing! Once I had got home I phoned the company and spoke to the receptionist who said it wasn't her problem to deal with and a manager would phone me surprise surprise no phone call!!!

All smiles and waves until you're out the showroom

I purchased a mini for my wife from here. The car looked to be great and I knew my wife would be chuffed to bits with it. The sales man was all smiles and banter while I was there. I quite enjoyed my time there. Bought the car and drove it home ready for my wife's birthday. My wife loved her present and look it for a drive down to her parents the next day. During the drive the engine management light came on. After 1 day! I rang the dealership and left my name and number for someone to get back to me. Nothing yet!

Can Anyone Help?

I've saved up for a while to get a half decent car and I though a BM would be a nice reliable car to have. I have my own business and drive about a lot for it. I like the look of Stephen James BMW and have heard some good things but have also heard bad. Especially after reading the post below. I am worried that after buying the car I would be left high and dry without any after-sales service or even advice to help me. Has anyone had any experience with these guy or can anyone offer any advice? I'm not too sure on this after reading the reviews. HELP! Thanks , Loz

Stephen James BMW- poor after sale care

This dealership are all front! Have the looks but are a real let down by poor organisation, and lack of customer service. After going there to buy a car, it has been impossible to communicate with them. I have problems with the car, and I expect them to fix the car as the car is less than 3 weeks old. The receptionist keeps telling me that my details will be passed on. Absolute nonsense. I'm still waiting for them to get back to me. When they do, I will update my post. Very shameful for a dealership of this size.
