Scammed by an "exclusive" matchmaking service

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

Stellar Hitch is the worst service experience I've ever had.  This business claims to be exclusive matchmakers and charge $5000, but I realized pretty quickly that Stellar Hitch is a scam.  Their claims of having a deep and varied data base of quality matches is totally false.  Their claim of carefully vetting and interviewing everyone who takes part in Stellar Hitch's service is totally false.  Their claim of providing substantive consulting is totally false.  Their claim of having an approach that's "personal, intimate, elegant and safe" is totally false.

The husband-wife team of Andrea and Cristina Morara must be stopped from making false promises to individuals who are putting their trust in them.

I've asked for a refund to no avail. Now it's about stopping Stellar Hitch from doing this to one more person.

Stellar Hitch has been in the matchmaking business for over six years and we take great pride in our solid reputation for leading with integrity, personal care and compassion.

We are always ready to provide prospective clients with past (and current) client references, which is precisely how and why this client chose our services.

(Six years in business with only two negative reviews is worth mentioning).

A serious matchmaking company’s database is their gold. It is important to note that a client is always free to accept or decline any introduction that we suggest. Here, the client was given full disclosure of each introduction, and chose to move forward with both.

Sadly, this client’s reaction is a teaching moment for us in the sensitive work we do. We understand that working with a matchmaker can bring up people’s insecurities and vulnerabilities and it’s often upsetting just to confront these feelings.

We’ve often found that people place their uncomfortable feelings and blame on others and sometimes it’s taken out on us. For this reason, I personally approached this client with compassion, integrity and respect in regards to her complaints and have always and will always take responsibility for our choices and actions.

It is untrue that we refused a refund. We were in the process of negotiating a fair and honest refund as an act of good faith but she chose a different route. We are truly sorry that our former client feels upset and misunderstood but the fact that she has chosen to use scathing remarks and possibly actionable language is unacceptable.

It is upsetting beyond belief that this client feels the need to go on ‘a mission’ when we were in the process of dealing with her issues in a fair and responsible way. We had hoped to end our relationship with this client on a neutral tone but it seems that we are put in a position of defending ourselves despite our best efforts.

Nonetheless, we sincerely wish her the best. Cristina Morara / CEO Stellar Hitch

Once again, Cristina Morara of Stellar Hitch is choosing to place all of the blame on the client and not take one ounce of responsibility for her actions, or lack there of. What's astounding to me is the continued lies upon lies.

Why would you keep digging yourself into a bigger hole of lies if you know that there is evidence to prove your claims are false?

You say you are a serious matchmaking service with integrity and yet, I experienced set ups with people that you hadn't even properly vetted. Don't take it just from me. Just today one of the "dates" that you set me up with reaffirmed his negative opinion of Stellar Hitch.

Direct quote "I did not like that they did not vet the people that they are trying to connect.  What is the point of you paying money if these guys don’t do what they're suppose to do?"

And what about your other unhappy clients who gave you a scathing review on the Better Business Bureau website? One said you set her up with someone you found on Tinder and then asked him to lie about how you found him. He confessed to the client because he felt so badly for her.

As for your claim that you were in the process of negotiating a fair and honest refund with me...yet another lie.

In two different emails you refused to provide a refund.

Oct. 2, 2015

"...in light of the work that has already been completed (and the expenses that we've already sustained), we are respectfully suggesting that we conclude our agreement as things stand currently. We are driven by integrity, especially in a business as 'delicate' as ours and we hope you realize that this is the right thing to do on all fronts." Oct.

9, 2015 "Given the time spent (not just consulting with you but interviewing and vetting potential candidates), expenses incurred (we already paid our scouts to start searching on your behalf) and the fact that you received two introductions (when our initial agreement was to begin introductions after your final installment), what do you think is fair and honest? Integrity is king; I expect it from you, too." When I replied to this email saying I had hoped Cristina would want want to resolve this as a smart and savvy business woman, she went radio silent.

I believe Cristina Morara should look up the definition of "integrity" because she certainly doesn't seem to know what it truly means.
