We have been waiting almost a month in dead of winter for replacement part from Steffes. This is second time this has happened to us.
they are unkind unsympathetic and you can't even talk to manager about how your family is freezing in house because they can't get you part in reasonable amount of time!
Are you kidding me? The worst customer service in USA

Our heater went down in coldest month of January. I knew the part I needed and spoke to the most vile rude woman ever!
Ended up having to get part through the installer! At a price hike, give me a break, the woman could care less we were freezing.
Thanks Steffes! Wonderful customer service, NOT!

Dead of winter and heater broke, called company for part and said will be couple weeks! Not happy and rudest woman on phone I ever encountered totally unsympathetic to our freezing in home

VERY Dissatisfied with Steffes.
Steffes ETS heaters do not save money. RepeatSteffes ETS heaters do not save money.
They are very expensive to operate.They are very difficult to control the heat. If you get a warm day in the winter you will have to raise your windows to keep from sweating. They do not allow any parts to be available anywhere but authorized dealers. According to their website the closest authorized dealer for me is 120 miles away.
There are plenty of good heating systems out there to choose from. Do yourself a favor.
If anyone mentions Steffes, run as fast as you can. This is a truthful review based on my personal experience.

Happy with mine
I purchased and installed my model 2004 in 2002 and had to replace heating elements in 2008 with no problems since. It still works good and I am happy with it. One thing that would be nice, is a separate access panel to work on control unit instead of having to take the complete front off to get to the right side compartment.

These heaters are unreliable, they constantly breakdown
Ever since they came out with these digital controls they have been faulty and nothing but trouble, Unfortunatley for us we bought then when they just came out with the digital controls and they never worked properly and company refuses honor their customers by replacing or refunding, were going to have to go to propane gas.

I bought 2 of these and had them installed at considerable expense for both purchase and installation. (about $5000) Neither worked.
After $270 of additional expenses in my part and considerable delay in the middle of winter in delivery of parts that resulted in loss of a rental tenant, I have contacted the company for restitution and none to be had. I got a rude customer "service" person named Connie. My experience with this company and its products has been horrible. Don't buy Steffes ETS units.
They dont behave like people who value customers. They basically provide a bad product and service. Bad product!

I have the 2106 for 18 years. was really good heater .my complaint is the parts should be available to the owner of the heater not held hostage by one person .They won’t get back to you .I can fix it myself just need 4 heating elements .I have been repairing appliances for 47 years .make parts available ! it is winter time need heat!
We had same problem! It was an easy fix, and she said “yeah we do have a few parts but holding those for special urgent needs customers” I said that’s ridiculous we are freezing and have to wait weeks?
She got angry and rude. And as you said they say to “go through your authorized agent “ which in our case was power company, who didnt have the one little part either.
She still wouldnt send part to me had to be sent to power company first, further delaying repair. Just horrible
