2014 Dodge Caravan - Transmissions on Backorder

I have a 2014 Dodge Caravan which was purchased new just over 3 years ago. I was in Summerside PEI on a hockey tournament last weekend Feb 3-4 and my van broke down.

I had it towed to the dealer and I'm told it was the transmission and it will cost min of $4000 to have replaced. I live in Halifax NS so I told the dealer to go ahead and order part. I was told at the time that it may take a week or so for the part to come in no guarantees but the estimated time for delivery was Feb 12. I received a call today stating that the estimated time is now changed to Feb 19 and when I asked a few question I found out that there are over 400 on backorder it could very well take longer to arrive than even the 19th.

I was then given the Chrysler customer service number. When I called I was told that there was no guarantee of when the transmission would arrive. I then asked if they could provide a courtesy vehicle for me which I was told that because my van broke down out of province this is against policy. The other thing I would like to know is where these transmissions are coming from??

I have 3 boys that play hockey and I work full time and I have had no vehicle for a extended length of time with a company that doesn't have the part to fix it. Unreal customer service!!!!
