Unemployment Insurance EDD

I am beyond frustrated with the state of California and their lack of care or concern for the millions of people unemployed because of COVID. I have been with my company for 20 years and our business has been unable to reopen since March from the governors restrictions. My benefits were suspended for suspected fraudulent activity and I have not received any payment since 12/13/20. I have verified my ID. But still no response from EDD. I have called over 100 times, never able to get through. I got through 2 times yesterday, and after being on hold for over an hour, my phone connected to 911 and sent an emergency SOS to my emergency contacts, including my mom, who tripped and fell on her knee, in a panic, thinking that I had been in an accident. 2 TIMES IT CALLED 911! I did NOT touch any buttons or accidentally press something. Its just redirected me and disconnected my call.

The Most Incompetent and Rude *** Are Here And Should Be Fired

This place is horrible, staffed with incompetent rude *** and that's if you can ever get through to a live person on the phone. The California Department of Justice and other agencies need to get involved with this idiotic place and have these servants who work there realize that they are there to serve the public, not themselves. A class action suit is appropriate for the distress they cause the people they are supposed to serve. Google them, also known as EDD, and read all the complaints for yourself. They are discourteous, disrespectful, rude and/or incompetent to those they serve, which has been my total experience with them. They obnoxiously cut you off, read from a script regardless of what your question is, do not let you contact a supervisor, and disconnect you if they feel like it after long wait times. If they don't want to do their job, they should just quit. Who's monitoring this place??? An absolutely disgusting representation of EDD, the state of California, and humanity in general. Almost everyone I spoke to there is poor at what they do, should be fired and have to endure their own process as punishment for their stupidity. A total waste of government and Americans' funds/ Total overhaul required with all new employees needed there.

That comment could accurately apply to virtually every State of California agency, as opined after 30 years of experience. They have no standards. Almost no government worker would survive outside the public sector.

Denial of payment, claims went back to work

EDD/ claims they received something I signed saying that I went back to work on June 29th wanted payment of 377.14. back or submitted an appeal with proof. I submitted information with appeal which they received date of July 17th. I have had contact with ones over the phone we have enter wrong information regarding conversation, to make issue a problem to resolve. I receive a call from a Mike on 7/22/2015 who was very abusive calling me a liar and that I did return to work, when trying to explained he became very intimidating to me. rude. D

Not Receiving CA Unemployment Benefits

On Fri,. Sept., 13, 2013, I was supposed to receive my unemployment benefits in the amount of $424 on my Bank of America debit card from EDD of CA. I called the 800 number based out of San Bernardino on Fri., Sept., 13th and have been calling for 5 days. I continuously get a busy signal and then a voice mail stating they are receiving too many callers, call back. I then went on-line and got another phone number for which I called and waited 2 hours. I finally reached an agent and she informed me the State of CA Unemployment is on a new software program and we cannot tell you when you will be paid your benefits. Forms received are being worked on being put into the system manually; and there are thousands and thousands. I said to her Manually, do the employees know how to operate the system??? She said, were trying... She informed me to keep trying and call the 800 number, there is nothing they can do. I tried the 800 number again today and could not get through. I got through to the other number I got on-line. Spoke with an agent who told me again she could not tell me when I would receive my benefits, but told me she is getting many calls and complaints from people stating that their electric, water, gas, etc., is being turned off because they are not receiving their checks. A few days ago, I contaced the US Department of Labor and gave this information to an agent. I begged her for help and told her that I have worked for 32 years and have only been collecting unemployment benefits for 4 months. I have 3 children in college, bills to pay and I do not know where to turn to. She told me that she can only relay the message to the State of CA EDD office and I can only keep trying. I told her this is unheard of, beyond words and this cannot be happening. I have also e-mailed the of CA Governer Brown and told him of my situation and have heard nothing back. I also e-mailed local TV-stations and have heard nothing. I need assistance please!!!! This news needs to get out there. Please Help!!!! Thank You So Very Much!!
