The Star Weekly is a source of disappointment. The publication has become noticeably thin, with a heavy reliance on repetitive advertising content each week.

Delivery is inconsistent, and its readership appears to be declining.
Although it is presented as a community newspaper, it no longer reflects a strong community focus. There are also concerning reports regarding workplace conditions, including low pay, high stress, and high staff turnover, which suggest ongoing management and staffing challenges. Overall, the paper falls short of expectations for a community publication
The Star Weekly has become a major disappointment. It is extremely thin, dominated by the same ads week after week, and often fails to even be delivered properly.

It feels like fewer and fewer people are reading it.
Calling it a community newspaper feels misleading. There is very little community content left, and instead it comes across as a declining publication with poor standards. Reports of staff being underpaid, overworked, and constantly leaving only reinforce the impression of poor management. It is hard to see it as anything other than a failing local paper
The Star Weekly has changed noticeably in recent years.

The paper is quite thin and contains a high proportion of recurring advertisements. Delivery has also been inconsistent at times, and readership seems to be declining.
While it still identifies as a community newspaper, its community content feels limited compared to expectations.

There have also been concerns raised about staff workload, pay levels, and turnover, which may be affecting overall quality. There is room for improvement if it is to better serve its community purpose.
