Stanton School Of English Celta Teacher Training Course Review
I pursued CELTA at Stanton in Aug 2006. It was an intensive course.
I had to work very hard. But, I never experienced any such so called racism there.
Remember, I am an Indian and I received excellent support and encouragement from my trainers ( Mike Mooring and Peter). I always recommend Stanton to my friends.
Stanton school of English QUEENSWAY...discriminated against me!
Stanton school of English...Stanton School of English.........Stanton School of English......bad! Bad!! BAD!!!
Stanton School of English Queensway!!! They...Verbally Abused me in front of staff... is it because I am not white!!! :(
They are so arrogant!!!
They think they are better than everyone else who is not white.
I hope they can learn to be better people... life is not about being white and English!!!
Why would they take my money of me in the firat place???
They never asked me questions in class or make eye contact with me durkng lectures and training :(

Stanton School of English - fictitious allegations of racial discrimination
In response to both James Anderson and the gentleman who posted the original comment (whose anonymity I will respect despite the fact that he did not respect mine), I would to like to confirm that this complaint and the allegations made within are completely fictitious and have been fabricated to compensate personal and professional deficiencies displayed while he was completing the course. He was never told he did not fit the criteria of a Cambridge English teacher or was not fit to be a teacher, but he did fail to meet the criteria necessary to pass the course.
He was not humiliated, shouted at or picked on at any time. He was not told of any regret for accepting him onto the course. The price of the course is not £10000 but £1005, which is actually very reasonable if you compare it with other centres which do the same course. He was never reprimanded for taking time off the short course for being ill or when his daughter became ill.
We were sympathetic and did our best to accommodate him by making arrangements to make up any missed sessions/teaching practice. We also talked to him about deferring but he chose not to do this. He failed the course because he did not complete the necessary requirements, not because of his ethnic background. There were other black trainees on the same course who did not share in this gentleman's opinion and were very happy with the course, which they all passed.
Our centre and our tutors are not racist and a large majority of our trainees come from a rich variety of backgrounds, from all walks of life, from every corner of the world.
As a final thought, and considering this gentleman wants to become and English Language Teacher, I would ask you to look at his post and check his grammar/spelling. Anyone is welcome at Stanton!
Stanton School of English Queensway, discriminates against Black, Asian and Arab trainee teachers.
STANTON SCHOOL FAILED ME WHEN I ENROLLED ON ONE OF THEIR CELTA(ESOL) TEACHER TRAINING COURSES, BECAUSE I AM BLACK. THEY SAID I DID NOT FIT THE CRITERIA OF AN CAMBRIDGE ENGLISH TEACHER.
THEY HUMILAITED ME CONSTANTLY IN FRONT OF OTHER TRAINEES AND TOLD ME I WOULD NEVER BECOME A TEACHER. THEY REPREMENDED ME FOR FALLING SICK AND TAKING TIME OFF TO NURSE MY SICK DAUGHTER. THEY ARE YOUR IDEAL EXAMPLE OF INSTITUTIONALISED RACIST.
ORGANISATION. THEY HATE ANYONE WHO DOES NOT FIT INTO THEIR WORLD EVEN IF YOU ARE BORN AND BRED IN THIS COUNTRY ..., IF YOU ARE NOT WHITE, YOU ARE GOING TO HAVE IT ROUGH AT STANTON SCHOOL OF ENGLISH BAYSWATER QUEENSWAY!!!!

They should be called... Stanton School of "Racists"
Where are they based.....so I can warn my friends looking for an English school
Yeah.... I have heard others say the same about Stanton School of English.
..., the tutors are racist!
They treat non "English" whites, black people, and Arabs as inferior to them.
The owner apparently is a real gentleman.... its just his staff.
Boooooooo!
I thought we were in the process of eradicating Institutional Racism??? What a shame some of us still feel we are superior to others just because they are of a different colour of nationality!
Well, yeah, your spelling sucks...doesn't really give you a leg to stand on. Even if they're racist you need to do a lot better.
I am a non-white and passed my CELTA at Stanton...only passed. My colleagues thought I deserved better than a pass but I think Stanton didn't want to because my knowledge of grammar at the time was non-existent. That's the way I think, I could also think that they were racist...chose not to. If my grammar was flawless then, yes.
But then they did support a student who was non-white. He wanted to drop out but they encouraged him to stay, he passed. Mike was there at the time in 2006. In a group of 12, there were 5 non-whites, all passed. We all had a memorable time at the school. It is a great institution so think twice before you slam it.
