Price gouging

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
I bought two gallons of hardwood oil for $43.00 each, a price I normally pay for this specific product. A few days later, Stacks and Stacks emailed me to say that the actual price of each gallon is $134.00 and that they would cancel the order, but give me a 10% discount on a future purchase. After some research I learned that this product is no longer manufactured. My guess is that this is why the price increased exponentially. I wrote back to them alleging that this is price gouging since the order had already been processed and my card was already charged. They had the nerve to argue with me in several different emails claiming that they were well within their rights to jack up the price and cancel my order. Right or not, it was *** customer service and the defensive, snotty attitude I got from them was 100% unprofessional. I will never shop with this company again. I bought two gallons from another company at a cost of $43.00 per gallon.

That is awful. After reading your comment, I've decided to take my business elsewhere.

Thank you for posting.

I can't stand nasty attitudes from people. Since they had already charged you, they should have honored it.thats very unethical.

Placed an order that couldn't be filled for 6 month. Was never contacted. Then had to file a claim to get my money back. 0 stars for this company which also trades under the name organize it .com They are very rude to you when you call. I seems to be an e- commerce site. OA one man show . If it was a 4 star site I would have had my money back in a flash. Checked with my bank and after 2 weeks no credit was pending. What a joke

Ex-employee Insight

I used to manage the Stacks and Stacks in Emeryville. What a horrible company to represent. First off the owner was *** his secretary something the entire company knew and somehow the wife was oblivious to. Second, the owner demanded that I fire that "chinaman" from my staff. Wow! That was in 2001. I am NOT in the least to even come across the horrible reviews that I just read. I am sorry people truly I am the man was a schiester. If there was any way that I could apologize each and everyone of you I could. I have managed Guess, Gap, Polo and Macy's stores in my career and never once have I ever been so appalled by the lack of morals from this man.

THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
I am so happy to see this site exists to file a complaint about Stacks and Stacks. Their shipping is crazy expensive, but I decided to pay it since they had an item I wanted and I was sure I wouldn't have to return. The item didn't work as advertised so I called customer service and their customer service is horrible. I tried to return something that didn't work and because they said it SHOULD work they wouldn't return it. What?!?!? I tried to leave a review on their site for the item six times and they never post it. Would never buy from them ever again!!!!

Never being paid for our merchandise and service

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
obviously consumers could not receive its merchandise on time because stacks and stacks did not pay its vendors. being one of its vendors, we are one of the victims, shipping out all merchandises on behalf of stacks and stacks but never being paid for our merchandise and service, for 13 months!!!! all its people were lying all the time and sent over all fraud orders or emails with excuses. after searching online and found out many consumers actually paid for orders but never received it. It seems that stacks and stacks charged its consumers but not to send them merchandise. Never deal with this kind of online retailer!

Stacks and stacks - fraud

Apparently, Stacks&stacks is out of business. After sending an email indicating my item was now available on March 17, 2014, I ordered and paid, received confirmation & it would be shipped in 6-8 days from the manufacturer. After 2 wks, I called Stacks and Stacks (busy signal for three days) and emailed (came back undeliverable). Called the manufacturer, who told me to call my bank because they were in bankruptcy and stiffed them after years of business. What JERKS! Soliciting the sale knowing full well they couldn't deliver! All the security and still crooks! I am pursuing those guarantees to get my money back.

*** customer service is an understatement....

These people are not who you want to deal with.... They sell over on amazon and refuse to comply with Amazon's policies regarding returns. It took four weeks and multiple phone calls to get this resolved, then they lied and said I didn't return the item to them. Here's the tracking info you bunch of scammers. Then they went silent. Nothing more to say, huh? My review at amazon. Never responded to repeated attempts to contact regarding return. Tried to charge $27.00 in return fees on $54.00 item and then refused to accept return or process any refund when the item was returned after I complained to Amazon. Scammers - slow shipping and delivery, terrible customer service -- do not deal with this seller. Filed A-Z Claim with Amazon

Sorry, its out of our control

when I purchased my order this company claimed I would receive my item in 4-10 working days. 11 days after placing the order my item shipped and UPS tracking indicated my item would be delivered 19 days after the order date. Contacting this company all I got was "I'm sorry, it is not our problem, it is a UPS problem." This was part of a gift, and an umbrella with no stand is no gift. I could order an umbrella stand from many sources, so delivery time is a critical detail, this company blew it and refuses to take responsibility or offer anything but a "sorry". Sorry, but that isn't good enough.

Buyer Bware

Stacks and Stacks - Buyer Bware
On August 17,2012 I ordered a Hampton 48 x 48 Double Bookcase in Pearl White from stacks and Stacks on Amazon.com The order # is 002-957****-287****, and the total was $771. I waited three weeks to receive the bookcase, which finally arrived on Thursday 9/6/12. Stacks and stacks never responded to my emails regarding the delayed delivery...I just happened to receive a notice from UPS that they couldn't contact me! Apparently UPS was given a phone # from stacks and stacks that in no way even resembled my phone # or even had any reference to a NY phone #. When I opened the box I discovered that the bookcase was glaringly damaged. The entire right edge of the bookcase was completely chipped and stripped....beyond the paint being stripped....the wood was exposed and frayed! I immediately called Stacks and Stacks and spoke with James- who seems to be the one customer rep. for the entire company. He instructed me to send him a digital photo of the damaged product via email (which i did) @ james@***.com. He told me to repack the bookcase in the same box it came in, which I did. He indicated he will get back to me with instructions regarding the pick up of the item from their carrier, for a return and refund. Since then all I get is his voicemail. My emails are not responded to, nor are my voicemails. I've filed a claim through Amazon and my credit card company (Visa), should this matter not be resolved with the merchant. In the meantime I have this boxed 130 lb. hunk of garbage in the middle of my living room. I should have done my research as I've discovered many other disgruntled stacks and stacks customers who've shared their horror stories on customer review sites.

Stacks and stacks; The epitome of bad business

I would give them minus stars if I could. I waited three weeks to receive an $800 bookcase that I ordered from stacks and stacks through Amazon. They never responded to my emails regarding the delayed delivery...I just happened to receive a notice from UPS that they couldn't contact me! Apparently UPS was given a phone # from stacks and stacks that in no way even resembled my phone # or had any reference to a NY phone #. The delivery finally comes and I open the box and the bookcase is glaringly damaged. The entire right edge of the bookcase is completely chipped and stripped....beyond the paint being stripped....the wood was exposed and frayed! What kind of 'person' deliberately mails out an item in this condition? The absence of integrity is baffling. Naturally I immediately called Stacks and Stacks and spoke with James- who seems to be the one customer rep. for the entire company. He instructed me to send him a digital photo via email (which i did) and to repackage the bookcase in the same box it came in. He indicated he will get back to me with instructions regarding the pick up of the item from their carrier. Since then all I get is his voicemail. My emails are not responded to, nor are my voicemails. I've filed a claim through Amazon and my credit card company. In the meantime I have this boxed 130 lb. hunk of *** in the middle of my living room, and my old bookcase was dispensed of..so I have unshelved books laying around my apartment. Very nice. Until I can settle this manner I'm not going to purchase another bookcase. Buyers heed these reviews....do not order from this company! They are the epitome of corrupt!

Bad company

I bought a hugh armoire from Stacks and Stacks. It came damaged. They refuse to pick it up. They are sticking me with the cost of having to dispose of it. It's still in the crate and has to weight 300lbs. I'll have to pay someone to take it to the dump and have dump charges. The company could care less. They let me think for over a month that they would pick it up. Buy from them at your own risk. I saw the same item at other stores and the cost were all the same. I just picked the wrong company. If you see something on their site shop around and find it elsewhere. I'm telling you they don't care for their customers.

I submitted a review here (#344139) regarding Stacks and Stacks due to a similar ordeal. I also reported them to the Better Business Bureau.

This company has no integrity. I got my money back through Amazon Guarantee, but like your situation Stack and Stacks expected me to wait into perpetuity for them to maybe- possibly- perhaps send UPS to pick up the structurally damaged bookcase they had the gaul to send me. I told James...their one customer service rep. it seems, that I'm ditching the piece of ***.

It's not my responsibility to hold a 15 piece of garbage in the middle of my apartment into perpetuity. I spoke to Amazon and they said throw it out....there's no liability. If the company wants the item back they need to act immediately, not keep the consumer waiting.

Unbelievable bad business. Never again!

Stacks and stacks

I purchased a mirrored dresser and five weeks later it began to crack. I called Stacks and Stacks and they said that since it was past the four week return date that I was stuck with it. The manufacturer Hillside Furniture who supplied the item said that since it was manufactured in China they would not make good with their warranty (which is a one year warranty). I spent $699 plus $85 in shipping and all Stacks and Stacks would do was reimburse me for the shipping - never cashed the check and am suing them for selling a defective item. Every week another crack appears in the dresser, which is unusable. A furniture repair person told me that they used wood that bowed and the more the wood bows the more cracks that appear - I was told it was defective. NEVER NEVER BUY ANYTHING FROM THIS COMPANY!!!! You have been warned.
