Don't Go To Them For Help (Chairty)

I've tried to get help TWICE from them. The first time was shortly after Hurricane Harvey.

I had a roof leak that was made worse by the storm. I was advised to contact them for help. At first they didn't want to talk to me. Then they relented and set up a date and time to view the damage and arrange repairs.

"Mary" was the contact. Well Windstream accidentally cut off my phone line and I couldn't get it restored for over a week and missed m appointment with SVDP. When I got my phone line repaired I called to reschedule. They would NOT help and informed me that there was NO ONE NAMED MARY WORKING FOR THEM.

Second incident was even more frustrating.

I contacted them by e-mail for help with my utilities. I'm unemployed and have no income. My phone is down again so I gave them my neighbor's phone number. Well I got an answer and I got jerked around again.

They would NOT meet me at a secure place. They wanted to come to my home. I told them NO. I don't want strangers in my house and it's better if we meet elsewhere.

I told them several times I didn't have phone service but they weren't listening. They asked me several pointless questions and I felt like I was being interrogated. Sounds like another Do Nothing charity.

My transportation is limited and with no phone service you'd think they'd work with me ? Not hardly
