I brought in my 2016 Tacoma for an inspection, for a sound it was making in the engine compartment. the truck was also lurching, when put in reverse gear or drive gear at low speeds (1-5 mph) this occurs regardless whether the engine is warm or hot. the truck hesitate from R to D then catches. That was not normal to me and didn't seems normal overall. I tried to explained as best as I could to the service adviser guy. I also explains the sound from the engine compartment and even showed him and replicate the south in front of him so he was able to understand me even better. and yes he was able to hear it and said it was normal right away obviously not it wasn't' normal. well I left the truck there for about 2 hours. the called me saying they didn't found anything wrong with the truck, *** I was very very disappointment, what type of certified mechanics do they have in there that they are not able to figure something is wrong. when you showing them what is doing and it is not normal. I was able to took the truck to my dealership where I bought the truck from, and they did fix it, they said it needed some kind of software update and check the transmission fluid. DO NOT COME HERE !! I AM VERY Disappointed WITH THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE, THEY TREATED ME LIKE I WAS NOT IMPORTANT FOR THEIR BUSINESS. THEIR SERVICE ADVISOR THIS BALD WHITE GUY IS DEFINITELY RUDE.

Toyota Service in St. Charles, Illinois

I had a shaking/vibration with my 1996 Toyota Tacoma in January of 2013 as you couldn't drive beyond 20 miles per hour or it vibrated. It eventually stopped vibrating but I brought it in immediately for repair as it was happening intermittently. They said it was spark plugs and a burnt wire and they cleaned the fuel injector ($586). Then came back in 10 days later for the same problem. They replaced spark plug #1 coil for $106 and said that was for parts only. The vehicle was fine and then in August of 2013 it happened again. This time they said it was the drive shaft (gear bad) and steering rack. They replaced all that for $4100 and put in a water pump as it was bad and said this is the problem. I was floored and called around to see if this could be. Other repair shops said power trains does not usually go out at 130,000 miles. I've had the vehicle for 18 years--I didn't drive it rough--just down city streets. I even asked to see the power train. He showed me the gear and said it had to be real tight. It did not look bad but he compared it to another Toyota truck's gear he had next to my vehicle and that gear was worse. He said, mine would look like this if unrepaired and could fall on the road. He said that was the reason for the vibration. So I had it fixed. Ten days later I'm back with the same problem of vibration at high speeds--can't drive beyond 20 mph. This time they claim a new fuel pump and they charged me another $650! I refused to pay as obviously the cleaning of the fuel pump lasted 6 months and it needed a new one to begin with. I do not feel like these guys even know what they are doing. Then they refused to let me take the vehicle off their lot until I paid. I'm not the first to be unhappy with their service here either!
