Exacerbates trauma, no compassion for mental health patients

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

This ER is the worst I've ever seen. I was not given a room and was left in a hallway with no privacy.

Another patient was threatening to kill me. When I tried to get away from her, I was put in restraints on a bed for 45 minutes. The nurse, Kyle, laughed at me when I asked to speak to my fiance and he told me I wouldn't be let go until I "behaved myself." Dr. Johnson told me that I was in restraints because I was "not to be trusted." Mind you, I did not assault anyone.

I was in fear of my safety and I was trying to get away from a patient who was threatening me. Unsurprisingly, the hospital refused to admit any wrongdoing. Restraining patients should only be done as a very last resort, never for punishment or convenience of the staff. If you or anyone you love is having a mental health crisis, DO NOT send them here.

Thanks to these horrible people, my PTSD is now exacerbated and I left in a worse condition than I did when I came in. They also charged me $2700.

Waited for 6 hrs to get seen in ER-vomiting ,severe abdominal pain then a panic attack because of pain.

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

If you want to be seen in a timely fashion, have pleasant care takers that listen and get taken care of- dont come here. Worst experience ever.

Not sure if its staffing, not enough rooms or just plain poor care. If you have severe abdominal pain and vomiting- go elsewhere.

I came to this hospital completely unaware that it is a school. I feel they, in not informing me was a blatant failing in the doctor and patient relationship First of all.

I have cancer The unprofessionalism is rampant through out each and every department. I have had many times the staff(students) yelling at me.

To many close call times asking me the same questions until my throat is so inflamed I cant speak "by the way I have throat cancer.night before last my oxygen level went so low they called in ac special team. I went umconscience.s

I beg everyone please do NOT see this doctor or Highline Medical Center. They employ a doctor, Dr. Ani Fleisig that gave me a bad port, messed up ileostomy and ruined my insides. I now live with a permanent Colostomy bad and no way to reconnect me. My rectum was destroyed by an infection and the scar tissue that was causing me even more pain. Shortly after my release at Highline, still increasing pain, we called her office to see what we can do. One of the front office ladies told me that I should take to aspirin and go to bed. Tried that and didnt work, the pain got worse. Within 6 hours of my release from Highline I was in another Hospital's ER associated with Highline and confirmed I had an extremely bad infection.

Following next morning the previous hospital recommendations ER visit we called this office again, explaining to the front office staff what happened at the other hospital. Yet again this office recommended I take to Asprin and go to bed. After getting frustrated we asked to speak with the doctor and the staff member came back on the phone after speaking with the doctor and told us the same thing. Luckily we called my Oncologist and staff member asked me to come to the Oncology section of the Hospital complex. They confirmed the other hospital notfied Dr. Any Fleisig of the infection my email. After getting poked numerous times they found out she put the port in wrong, the infection is extremely bad and kept me in their office till I had to be sent to the main Hospital.

So this Hospital had 5 days to run an infection test but Highline ran no infection tests. Not including the increasing pain medication instead of finding out if something is wrong. By the time I found a doctor with advance training in ileostomy and colostomy surgeries fixed me. Numerous studies show that typical for people to get infections.

I found out later this doctor doesn not have any education to proform exptremely complex surgeries. Remembering when I first went to her office the staff was very rude and Dr. Fleisig apologized. She has a great review on WebMD for breast reconstruction surgery. Listed she is educated to be a doctor but her lack of after surgery care made me run to my oncologist. Luckily he got out of there but honestly he and his staff saved my life. Many of the staff at the Cancer Center remember how I looked like I was dead.

If anyone else want more information please contact me. I know other people had issues with Dr. Ani Fleisig or the Highline hospital like this.

Highline Medical Center - Medical Care Review

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

Im at ER at Highline hospital we have been here since 5pm it is now 7:30pm people are walking in being checked out and taken back. When you question it at the desk she says theu are worse then you but yet they are released from the back in less then 20 min.

Children with non stop couging for the last hour and nothing. You could get quicker service if you call for an ambulence from the parking lot at the hospital.

If you are a walk in and you are worse of than others that are on the waiting area the triage nurse should take you back immidiately otherwize they should have to wait their turn in line. A lady that had been here at 1:30 pm with chest pain was finally taken back at 7pm.

Went to pain specialist and primary doctor, years. The last 2 days, went to each, massive pain lower back.

Told each, I got second degree blisters. Big! They didn't even look at my back! BS!

Come back in a month, they keep you coming back, wait for ever, and refer to another buddy Dr.

Got sent to collection agency for bill I didn't even know I had!!

I went into their ER on 10/26/2012. Later, got several bills, some of which I know not for what, but all of which I paid and on time.

Yesterday, got a notice from Puget Sound Collections in Tacoma for $16.95 - and I never EVER received a bill from Highline Medical Center for this charge! Didn't know about it, until they decided to ruin my credit. Didn't even get a phone call inquiring. As soon as I knew, yesterday, I sent payment for full amount.

The hospital, of course, will get maybe one-third of this as collection agency will get rest.

This place sucks!!! And my credit is probably ruined, for no reason at all.

Highline Medical Center - fantastic!

I have been to Highline Medical Center ER several times and they are fantastic at getting me in immediately, finding out what's wrong and taking care of my medical problem. Their ER is state of the art with the latest in CT's and other equipment.

The team of doctors and nurses kept a close watch on my medical situation each and every time I was there, checking in on me often to take vitals or ask me how I was feeling. I was well taken care of and was glad I chose to go that hospital and have only high praise for everyone at Highline Medical Center.

Buyer Beware for Highline Medical Center

If you are smart enough to read this site, BEFORE you check in to Highline Medical Center, you are smart enough NOT TO GO to Highline Medical Center. They are a 'regional' hospital with send-out service for most lab tests - a downtown Seattle hospital will have in-house labs [translation: my sister waited FOUR days for a diagnosis of appendicitis while writhing in pain at Highline Medical [appendicitis!

easy, right?? NOT for Highline Medical]; by the time the surgeon operated, her appendics had perforated and her recovery IN THE HOSPTIAL BED was one month! Highline Medical rates an 85% on national reviews for ability to diagnosis ailments [not good!most hospitals are getting 98%-100% ratings].

Buyer Beware!

Solution?? Call 911 and zip up to ANY Seattle hospital for better care than this outfit gives.

Highline medical center Scrooge!

My husband had to have a kidney stone removed in 2008. He went to Highline Medical Center in Burien, WA, our nearest hospital.

The hospital billed us $10,000 OVER what our insurance covered. We tried to set up a payment plan because we are self-employed. We sent financials, everything they asked for. Their Billing Dept.

basically told us we were lying on our financials and got a judgement against our home. So after much begging on our part, we set up a payment plan. We have been making regular payments, as set up by their collection company. Today, they garnished over $7,000 from our business checking account, effectively bouncing other checks we wrote.

(The first time we've had that much all year.) They did this at 4:00pm Friday afternoon, ironically the time when they've all left for the weekend. No phone call, nothing. Merry Christmas!

This medical facility is a bunch of crooks.

Several years ago, one of their doctors insisted my husband needed a liver transplant. He was flat out rude--and wrong.

My husband is still alive (a miracle according to Dr. Nadir, the specailist) and his liver is FINE!
