Scammer took money
Great at communication until he gets your money. Ordered a tuner around Feb 5th 2024.
Told I would get a questionnaire to fill out. Then his communication went to crap!!! Would call(no answer) and then text. The response would come 24-48 hours and 3-4 more texts later I would get a response of "I will look into it and let you know".
Sean is a crook and this is fraud! I disputed the charge and he sent my online receipt and declined the refund. When I texted him in response telling him what happened and I did not want to start leaving reviews he told me he already processed it and told me not to come at him like that! I asked for proof of the refund and of course I do not expect to get that!
So I typed this out and waited 3 1/2 hours. I text again and shockingly he said "sorry just got off a plane I can't do 100 things at once" .
He proceeds to send me a link to his website for a customer service ticket(he runs the website and the only contacts are his). Avoid this guy at all cost!

Unprofessional
So I'm asking for for almost 2 weeks about a tune he got me no reply now I start getting mad an said I payed to much to not get help he finally text me back talking about *** if I know where his location is I will pull up myself an address this another way but now he want me to send a ticket in I'm good on that he might do something to my car an it's no location as of we're he at an he not going to give me his location so I'm taking my car to get dyno

Still haven't heard from him
Needed help with a problem he text saying I'm *** what type of professional I'd this need to get shut down plus I record everything an have text messages my gm heard it so did my employee so it's alot that need work with this person I will be doing more then this complaining I'm working with other tuners to stop subjecting him as a go to

Total loss of investment
Paid $445 for 2 custom tunes. 15 days and 5 tunes later, all he can do is put my vehicle into engine fail safe mode.
Shawn Ellis blames my stock tune. He wants me to take my car to the dealership and have the computer flashed. Well, I called a dyno shop, and they gave me free information that solved my tuning issue. I asked Shawn Ellis for a refund and was told there are no refunds!?
What did I pay for!? Do an in depth internet search on SSI and Shawn Ellis. Look at his Facebook page. His reviews on his website are all of his own reviews!
There is no way to leave a review! All of his reviews use the same language and tone, because they all come from the same source. I am suing this man.
Do not pay him. He will not perform what you pay for.

Paid $445 for 2 custom tunes and got nothing in return!
Shawn Ellis assured me that he was the man. He could tune my car no problem.
15 days and 5 tunes later, my car is useless. All of his tunes put my car into "engine fail safe mode". I asked for a refund and he refused! BBB has been notified.
I placed a stop payment with my credit card company, and if I don't get my money back, I am suing him in court. I have all messages and promises recorded, as well as all his tunes and their results! I called a dyno shop for advice and they had my car running great for free just with a few words! Shawn is fake!
He does not tune using PIDs! He is a scammer and will either blow your engine up, or steal your money! I am living proof. I have a Ph.D and trusted this man!
He is worthless! I tried to reason with him, but no refunds is all Ingot in return! How can you sleep at night? People pay you, you don't provide what was promised, and then you run and hide.

Resolved: Horrible customer service will not give refunds
Company resolved the issue.
He works on gas.
He referred me to another shop in another state but he feels that he should be paid over $200 for that because he talked on the phone , if youre going to charge somebody for phone conversations, you have to tell them upfront and on a recorded line , when we couldnt fix the product that we were working on he decided he wasnt gonna give us any refund so I had to go and do a reversal, and then we had to fight him for it , be beware of this bonehead hes a crook , he tries to intimidate people with his foul mouth. Just dont do business with this guy.

Unresponsive, dismissive, unreliable
SSi performance and Shawn Ellis are subpar at best! I ordered my SCT tuner from Shawn on February 18, today March 19th, I still don't have a usable tune for my vehicle.
Shawn constantly tells you he will get back to you but has ZERO follow up skills.
The 2 tunes I was sent just created Terrain management faults on the vehicle. Shawn is not a tuner he's just a middle man that takes and passes messages.

Go in and do a reversal. If you have documentation give it to them this guy is a crook. That’s what he does best takes your money and then runs.

No refund
I paid $216 for tuning service i told them I no longer needed service they said theyd work with me and get my refund issued that was October 2022 its now February 2023 they ignore my emails they ignore me on contact support Ive even called the guy 3 times and hes told me *** take a look at it the next day and yet nothing has been done I suggest no one do businesses with them Ive spoken with others on Facebook and theyve also had bad reviews on S.S.I. performance

After payment Shawn Ellis forgot to send product and tune Tune did not perform as advertised leaving hard codes and very very poor acceleration Repeated emails illicited absolutely no response

This company is scamming consumers
I purchase two tunes for $170.00 from Southern Speed Inc in April. I looked at options and decided to make a purchase of their two-tune option.
The owner contacted me with a couple of questions and told me I would receive my tunes in a couple of days. I received one of the two tunes and was told this tune should make my engine run great. Once I had the engine together, I installed the tune, and it did start. At that point, I reached out to see what the next step was, as I assumed my engine may have to be data-logged.
I asked about receiving my second tune. No reply. I have inquired by email multiple times with still no answer. I opened a support ticket, given a low priority and a week later, still no response.
I have found I am not the only one who has been scammed by this person. I reported this to my bank but do not expect they will be able to resolve this as another consumer had the same experience and lost their money. A single tune is $100.00 with a second tune an additional $70.00.
All I wanted was my second tune to be refunded the $70.00. At this point I want nothing but to make others aware.

He does not have a single disclaimer anywhere on his site that says all sales are final, or that you need to meet certain criteria in order for him to do his job. I hope your CC reversal worked because that is where I at now in the process.
