I took my cat to Dr Skinner (the owner) 7-18-23 because she did not want to eat her dry food for what I thought was a bad tooth. An assistant came out to the car (still not allowed inside with pet) and said Dr Skinner wanted a $300 deposit before seeing my pet so I handed her my charge card thinking it was a new policy and wouldn't be anywhere near that to check her teeth. When the assistant came back to my car with my cat I was told they ran a full blood panel and everything looked good and Dr Skinner said her mouth looked a little pink and sent her home with antibiotics and a steroid. The bill was over $350.Dr Skinner never came out to talk to me.3 days later I decided to try some canned prescription food and when I picked it up I was given an estimate of $746.85. At that time I decided to take her to The Pampurred Cat in Nixa and made an appointment for monday the 24th (6 days after being examined by Dr Skinner).
Dr Duncan at Pampurred Cat took one look at her and said she has oral cancer no tests were needed and the meds that Dr Skinner gave her would do no good and only stress her more by forcing them down her.I lost my cat 17 days after Dr Skinner examined her and totally missed her condition without a diagnosis.I had been going to Spring Valley since the late 80's when Dr Betzen owned it.
It is clear Dr Skinner only cares about $$ and not your pet. I would never recommend Spring Valley and wish I had taken my cat to The Pampurred Cat years ago.
