False advertisement, hung up on and lied to!

Contacted Sportland Motorsports regarding the ad in craigslist as well as the advertisement on the web site for the atv described below. When I called to discuss purchasing, Jerrod the General Manager advised me the price was $1995 and asked him if he would honor the advertised price, he said no and hung up on me. I called back and told him it wasn't nice to hang up on customers and he then told me the atv was sold for $1995 to a customer that just walked in. Later in the day i noticed the ad was changed to $1995 on the website so i called back and asked if he would split the difference in the error, Jerrod advised he would have to call me back. When Jerrod called, he advised the price is firm at $1995. I understand mistakes are made but hanging up and lying to customers is not good business! 2012 Polaris Sportsman 90 - $1695 (Sportland Motorsports, IL)image 1 image 1image 2image 3image 4 © craigslist - Map data © OpenStreetMap1602 N Lincoln Avenue(google map) condition: Used more ads by this user safety tipsprohibited itemsproduct recallsavoiding scamsCall SPORTLAND MOTORSPORTS at show contact info ext 212or text 212 to show contact info for full details http://13087.atvsforless.net/s/2092****/2/1132****/212

Sportland Motorsports - Kawasaki Kx140L Review from Mahomet, Illinois

In the fall of 2013, I purchased a Kawasaki Kx140L from Sportland Motors in Urbana Illinois. I purchased an extended warranty and was hoping to have good experience with a brand new motorcycle. From the start, we had issues with getting it started and keeping it running. We were told that we did not know how to start it properly, so we had them tell us how. They did do one free repair for us and changed out a fouled spark plug. The problems persisted and it continued to not start. Over the past 14 months it has only ran only five or six times. Every occasion required a great deal of work (new spark plug, pulling plastic off to get to carburetor) and nearly running the battery completely dead. We have owned motorcycles for over 20 years and never had any issues like this in the past. I truly believe there are major issues with the engine of this motorcycle and neither Sportland nor extended warranty are willing to take responsibility. I hear excuses like I have bad gas in the bike or the carburetor needs cleaned and that's just a bunch of excuses. I have other machines in my garage that I have not change the oil or spark plugs for extended periods of time and they seem to work perfectly fine. In today's world, when a problem becomes difficult or perplexing it is easier to just say that the consumer does not know how to use the motorcycle properly and it's not their problem and expense. I will just find another place to try to get it serviced as Sportland will probably not let me through the door again. Also, I will continue to contact Kawasaki.
