Sporting Smiles - Broken metal retainer first go making mould!
There moulds broke my permanent retainer first go! Moulds were nothing like all the times ive gone to the dentist to get them done and having to get it re attached none of them will fit now so a complete waste of money plus time and effort and extra fees of having to go to orthadontists to fix the metal retainer and now the retainers Im expecting from sporting smiles wont fit my top teeth due to there moulds damaging my retainer Have tried contacting to see if they could fix this some how by making new moulds of the top with less damaging moulding gel or reimbursement but no response still! And its also been months and havent received them not that the top ones will fit It says easier and cheaper than a dentist its cost time postage x3 dentist visits now with fees all because I chose to trust this site WOULD NOT RECOMMEND Waiting for a response from them still! Be cautious when using there products

Company fixed the issue and I have been provided with full refund.

Updated by user Apr 15, 2021

I'm getting a full refund but I wasn't looking for a refund. I just wanted retainers that actually fit.

Original review Apr 15, 2021
I'm very disappointed with this place. They acted like it was too much to try to work with me. I sent in 2 set of impressions, upper and lower, they emailed me back a few days later and said they were not good and would not be able to make a retainer from them. Well, apparently they went ahead and made retainers from those impressions and shipped them to me. Received the first set and they did not fit. The top one was lopsided and did not line up with my teeth at all. The bottom one would not go over my teeth at all. I contacted customer service, sent pictures and they said that since they were still under warranty they would remake them and do some adjustments. A week later, I received the second set of retainers. The top one fit good except that it was cut way too short. The bottom one still did not fit and would not go on. I contacted customer service again, sent pictures of how they fit and told them that the second ones still don't fit and asked them if I could just take new impressions. They told me that, that would be my second warranty and that they tried 2 set of impressions already and could not help me anymore. That I would have to see a dentist or orthodontist because I must have teeth that need special attention. They should have let me take new impressions because the ones they have are not going to work. They even told me that weren't good impressions. I'm getting a refund. I guess I'll go somewhere else. Thanks for nothing.

Terrible customer service!

Ordered full retainer kit from Sporting Smiles. After several months, the top retainer cracked. Called Evan for a replacement, and paid for a new retainer set to be sent out, with an extended warranty of 6 months instead of 1 month. When the retainer arrived, the bottom unit did not fit. It was obvious that the unit was made poorly. We called Evan, and asked for the unit to be remade. This request was neglected for weeks. We kept following up, but Evan refused our calls. He insisted that his company did nothing wrong. Finally he told us that he would give us a refund. We weren't looking for a refund,we just wanted a fitting retainer! He told us that he did not want to work with us, (He actually said, "I want to be done with you guys!", would not warranty any products for us, not even honor the 30 day warranty that is stated on his website. We had to call several more times to get our full credit issued back to us. DO NOT ORDER FROM HIS COMPANY! A company's customer service is judged when things go wrong. Everything is great as long as everything is great. I have NEVER had such an experience with any company in my life. Go elsewhere!

Don't do it!!

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Wore these for only a few months and they cracked. Never had this happen in the many years that I have been using retainers from my dentist. Customer service said no warranty, and that I should reorder new ones. I didn't realize that they were disposable only after a few months! Frustrating and lengthy mold process (they approved the emailed photo, but then rejected the mold when I sent them in and tried to charge me again), and very poor durability eliminates the value proposition for these retainers. Do yourself a favor and stick with the ones you get from the "pros"! These are definitely NOT worth the money and aggravation!!

I ended up here looking for Sporting Smiles phone number. I've ordered 2 times and those have always been great. You figured that only angry people would leave reviews on pissed consumer so I had to tell my experience and they have been great. by the way the phone number is 262-290-**** they answer the phone everytime i call. Not sure why people would have an issue with them.

ABSOLUTE CONSUMER FRAUD! They are HORRIBLE

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
I wish I could list ZERO STARS!!!! This company is HORRENDOUS! Look into other companies that are better able to serve your dental needs!! I cannot stress this enough!!! I paid $140 for two bite guard retainers. I was sent the impression kit...no big deal. NOW...I need to stress that there IS NO STIPULATION OR REGULATION stating that the impressions are required to be one dental set. I figured since I was paying a significant amount for a product, I would be able to receive the product. I PAID FOR TWO bite guards....and decided to created impressions for myself and for my husband. We both grind out teeth bad bad bad. After sending in the impressions, close to 2 weeks later, my mail lady knocked on my door, and required payment for my shipment! I ALREADY PAID FOR SHIPPING.....also, I LIVE IN WISCONSIN...like 1 hour away from the actual location of the company itself. YET, I had to pay my mail lady an extra $7 to receive my package. After opening my package, I realized that I had received 2 retainers that were EXACTLY the same. I contacted the company via email stating that I had received two of the same bite guards. Their response...."well you sent two uppers". I received NO emails stating that this was not allowed, and I received NO email or contact, asking me (THE BUYER) which impression I would like to have made. They just chose one impression, decided to spite me for taking two upper impressions, and sent what they felt like sending. Keep in mind....I PAID $140 for TWO retainers. I had requested that they make a retainer of the impression that I didn't receive, and that I would remake a lower impression (to meet THEIR DOCUMENTED DEMANDS). The company then required that I pay another $15 for another impression set so that I could receive what I ORIGINALLY PAID FOR. I paid the $15, and AGAIN, 2 weeks later, my mail lady required another $7 in extra shipping costs (again, i live an hour away from the actual company). When all was said and done, the retainers fit terribly, and are cheap as *** This company should be ashamed of themselves. They promote themselves as an "online dental company" that supposedly "saves the buyer money versus the dentist". ALL FALSE ADVERTISEMENT. I was taken advantage of, they took my money, and I received nothing close to the product that I paid a decent price for. AGAIN.....If you're looking for online dental equipment.....KEEP SHOPPING!! This company is just horrendous!!!!!! They should have their business license revoked for consumer fraud!

Evan McCarthy is a bigger criminal than his father

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Amazon should be ashamed for allowing Sporting Smiles and Evan McCarthy to perpetrate his deceptive advertisement on its site. Like his father, who was fined and reprimanded by the dental board in Wisconsin for breaking the law, Evan McCarthy lies, takes your money and does not delivery the product. Evan McCarthy, junior also has a complaint wherein the dental board ruled against him. The apple never falls very far from the tree. In fact, I have heard from the dental board several times with regard to Evan McCarthy. It appears he is under investigation once again for scamming people out of money. The Google reviews are largely fake. Evan McCarthy's lack of professional ethics and personal convictions do not allow him to earn nearly five stars. This man owes me money and I will not leave him alone until I get it back. I will never deal with Sporting Smiles again.

Donald Trump attitude and ethics, false a

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
The good Google reviews of this business must be fake, just like fake news has permeated the news media industry. Any business can hire a firm to create fake (good) reviews. Copy and paste, http://www.cracked.com/personal-experiences-2376-i-get-paid-to-write-fake-reviews-amazon.html and discover for yourself. Some companies even pay their employees bonuses to write fake reviews for their businesses. I believe that this is the case with Sporting Smiles. When my teeth whitening kit arrived, I applied the molds to both the upper and lower row. I followed the instructions per the Sporting Smiles Youtube.com video, took the prepaid package to the post office to be mailed and waited. I expected to receive notification that my molds had arrived in their office, but did not. However, after approximately one week, I contacted the company to find out if my molds had arrived and was told yes. It took three weeks for the trays to come back to me. Upon receipt of the trays, washing them and placing into my mouth, I immediately noticed that I had received two sets of the upper trays and no tray for the lower teeth. Subsequently, I contacted the company to bring this error to their attention and was met with a very unprofessional, unapologetic and unforgiving person. This individual insisted that I sent in two molds of only my upper teeth and even sent me a photo of my molds. When I looked at the photo, it revealed a mold for each row of teeth!!! I do not understand how a person who works with teeth all day could confuse the shape of someone's teeth and then have the nerve to try to convince one that he or she did not know the shape of their own teeth. First, who needs two teeth whitening molds for their upper teeth and none for their lower teeth? Secondly, I have had my teeth for 50 years and know them better than some nasty attitude fool in Wisconsin. Again, who whitens only their upper row of teeth and why would a company who specializes in dental products make such a simple mistake and refuse to take responsibility for it? This is insane, and the response from Sporting Smiles was reprehensible. I was told, "you need to call and talk to Evan." The professional way to have responded was with a suggestion, and not a scolding. For example, I am very sorry for the error. Please call our office and ask to speak with the manager. I am sure that this will get corrected as soon as possible. I apologize for any inconvenience that the mistake may have caused you. Rather than the company reaching out to me, I have to keep calling and calling and calling until an employee decides to answer the telephone. Who knows when that will be. Meanwhile, I am stuck with a product that is useless to me. UPDATE: I was able to speak with Evan who refused to admit that his staff made a mistake, questioned whether or not I sent in molds for both the upper and lower set of teeth and accused me of having been "anxious" while constructing the molds. Seriously! Evan will not refund my money; therefore, I am filing a complaint with the Attorney General in my state in order to get my money back from this crook. I am also contacting a consumer reporter in my city to expose this company's false and deceptive trade practices.
