Please STAY AWAY from Sport & Health!
Whether it's Reston or Worldgate, please stay away from Sport & Health gyms. As a former employee, I can testify that they treat their employees horribly, even the so-called upper level management staff. In fact, Sport & Health is currently being sued by several different employees for the hostile work environments they create for their staff. Every time someone signs up for one of their costly membership packages, they indirectly and unknowingly contribute to this horrible treatment. So please visit Gold's or LIfetime Fitness, both other companies I have worked with who treat their employees fairly and wit respect. Thanks you for reading and best of luck to you!

The only reason there is 1 star is because there was no option for 0 or negative stars. I used to work here and after seeing that they are recently hiring, I had to post this here and other places...
They are not a good place to work or receive services. Please do not bother with this place. I witnessed a lot of racism and a huge lack of concern for ethical business practices. If you do get services here, just know that your private information is not safe- they write notes and use "scrap paper" that is printed on the BACK of records that contain client social security numbers, phone numbers, and addresses. The only thing that might be safe is your CC# but again, thats a MIGHT. I cannot tell you how many times I took the initiative to manually shred papers because of this. And no one else saw a problem with this info being on scrap paper, INCLUDING management. Also, the spa is located right next to the gym and does not bode well for a relaxing massage. The area where the Massage Therapists and Estheticians get their creams and oils suffers from a roach problem.
If you want to work at a spa, go somewhere else. Management is more than shady and what one "manager" says to do, the next will tell you something completely different. You have no benefits here besides a 20% discount that you get as a member anyway. If you are let go, a "manager" will not just fire you, but also make something up that you did to justify your firing. Virginia is an employment at will state which means they can just fire you if they want without cause. Instead they accuse you of terrible things (in front of some other district "manager") to validate your termination. Yes, I have witnessed this. Also, and worst of all corporate managers at Sport and Health do not look into information or complaints that customers, employees, or ex- employees have.
Not a good place for anyone
To make claims without providing us with accompanying details renders this rant completely worthless. Had you provided specific details, we then could either judge for ourselves if your claims were likely the truth or if you were just a pissed off nut bag.
As to your claim about upper management being treated like ***, well, I happen to be close to someone who was a C-level V.P. (dating back to the days of corporate hq in the basement of the Regency) and he was never treated poorly and certainly did not treat anyone else with anything but respect.
Furthermore, proofread your comments before posting them. Your inability to use capitalization, punctuation and spacing properly instantly tells people that you are a Ducking Fumass!
I Agree with this person sportandhealth sucks funny because sport&health probably typed this there selfs or they are the main people who slave drive there employees.
I've worked for several of their clubs, and I've never felt this way. PS, one of the "hostile environment" suits is from a former coworker who actually filed similar suits for two of their previous jobs.
Sometimes, it is the person and not the company. Not saying that there's no way these could be legitimate complaints, but there's always more than one side to a story.
I've been an employee of sport&health for years and it's been nothing but good times for me! Maybe it's the employee and not the company???
I used to work for Gold's Gym and X-Sport Fitness. These are the places to stay away from b/c they drive their employees like slaves and as soon as they are done with you...you're out!
