Late delivery of cake card

I ordered a cake card to arrive on Saturday 7th October - a housewarming gift/card for my nephew and his girlfriend. It arrived 4 days late.

Im so disappointed as I wanted this to be a lovely surprise but had to ask them if it had been delivered, which ruined the surprise (it arrived 4days later).

There was no response to my messages from Sponge cakes.

NO CAKE NO REFUND

I ordered a birthday cake from Sponge.co.uk and paid extra for a pre 12:30 delivery on the day of the birthday. The party came and went with no cake much to everyones disappointment.

On contacting Sponge.co.uk to request a refund they responded with a very rude 'i am sorry you were disappointed but no company can 100% guarantee delivery'.

How great would it be if they told you that before you paid extra!

Apparently its 'not our policy to issue full refunds' to people who rely on them to deliver a birthday cake and then don't manage to do exactly what their customers approached them for in the first place.
