DO NOT GO THERE - THIS GUY HAS NO IDEA HOW TO UPHOLSTER ANYTHING. AND HE IS DISHONEST. I had a piece of furniture there for over a year. It came back with crooked seams, a broken zipper, the same bad worn out foam and springs that should have been replaced. I do not know how he stays in business. I know I am not the only one he has ripped off. There is a pending CLASS ACTION SUIT against him - that is how bad he is. I am going to have a reputable person redo my piece of furniture - BAD BAD BAD BUSINESS.

Spiker's upholstery - bad workmanship & dishonest
I gave him a very simple chair - paid full in advance. Every week (he had the chair for over 1 year!!) he promised it would be done. When I finally got it back, the workmanship is so BAD that I will now have to have it recovered by a real professional. he did not replace any foam - even though the chair is over 30 years old - the upholstery material is cheap and stained. the zipper does not work. This guy is nothing but a RIP-OFF. DO NOT GO TO HIM, you are better off doing it yourself, even if you do not know how to upholster - you can do a better job than him.

no, these people who are disgruntled are saying the same kinds of things that happened to me. he took a couple thousand dollars for a deposit for leather for a bunch of furniture, did a *** job on a small sofa, and is now holding my money and furniture hostage because i told him the job he did on the sofa is unacceptable.

After reading the negative reviews about Spiker's Upholstery I was very skeptical about taking my couch and love seat there to be reupholstered...until I realized that it was @Suzannebbad who was posting the negative comments on EVERY website. After taking my furniture there and seeing for myself the work that Pete does I can honestly say that I find the negative comments hard to believe.
For one, Pete is one of the nicest and pleasant business owners that I have dealt with. Secondly, he was upfront and honest about how long it would take for my furniture to be done. Third, he threw in some extra pillows for free to go with my furniture. Four, his prices were extremely reasonable.
Five, his work actually exceeded my expectations and was efficient.
Every business will have toxic people who want money or sympathy (ahem, suzanne)making negative comments so I truly hope that if you are planning to have furniture reupholstered you try this place and do not read too much into the neg reviews. My husband and I are planning on having our dining room chairs redone next fall and will definitely be taking them to Pete.

yes I have filed with the BBB and Angies List and posted complaints on every possible site I could. And no I am not a toxic person - just mad about being ripped off by a slimy *** artist.
I have the chair and the photos to prove it too. Which I am sending to the Attorney Generals office with my complaint.
He used second hand material, did not replace any of the 30 years old foam and took a year after being paid in advance in CASH! You must be a friend or relative of Petes to write what you did!
guess this is why he is spending 3-30 years in jail. And owes over $100,000 to other customers.
He deserves what he is now getting. JoAnn must be a friend, girlfriend, or wife of his. No real customer who has been ripped off by him would write such lies. Furthermore, if you read all the reviews on the internet, they are written by many others who were ripped off also by Pete.
Read the Dominion Post for Jan.8th. 2015 - back to jail for more scamming.

yes lots of cash. the upholstery is just a front for his real business. His business partner Jeff was known in the neighborhood of Greenmont for his "business" - lots more money in dealing than in upholstery.

I guess not. Class Action Suit? It got laughed out of the court room. The guy who filed it wanted a full refund because he changed his mind on the fabric that HE picked out.
Please give trustworthy reviews. I got an entire living room set done by Pete and he finished it in 3 weeks at a good price. As for the fabric, he has you pick it out and sign off on it before hand.
I personally know his foam provider so that part is a lie. He's a hard worker.
Intersting comments. He was paid in full for my furniture which he said was completed 10 months ago.
Since then I have had every excuse possible for why he has not delivered/returned them.
I even stated I would come get them myself--he didn't show up and didn't call. Almost like he took the money and ran....I would just like to get my furniture back!
