Scam company - They will rip you off
- - A $1,000 retainer was charged for a simple Section 75 rollover question.
- - Three emails cost over $1,400; the final answer is that they can't help.
I called them to help le implement a section 75 rollover if they think they can do it. The lawyer said I have to become a client so that they tell me if they can or not.
They took a $1,000 retainer. Then another lawyer sent an email not answering my question talking about other situations irrelevant to the facts of my situation. I refocused again and ask to stay on topic, again she sent an other email without the answer I requested, providing me with a 69 page generic legal treatise in which I am supposed to find the answers . Then I got annoyed and asked to be reassigned to a lawyer that can directly answer my question because I cant go back and for at $500/h just to get a simple answer.
The last (third) email finally answered my question. Then they sent me a bill for over $1,400 for 3 emails out of which 2 are useless and claiming they offered me a discount of $400 so I dont have to pay more than $1000 retainer. And this is how I paid $1000 to get one very simple answer that no, they cant help me! The answer should have been given upfront before even charging anything or should have taken no more than 10 minutes by email.
They charged 3 hours to tell me it cant be done! Stay away or get ripped off, your choice!
User's recommendation: Stay away from this company - they drag it to rip you off!
