Bad Business no customer service won't even return phone calls
broke down, I ordered a battery isolator was told it was in stock. I paid extra for 2 day air the part never arrived.
I called Spider Marine and could only get a answering service. I explained that I was broke down I had not received my part could they please track it. They said they could not help me and per company policy that I could not speak to anyone at Spider Marine that all they could do was to forward a message to management. I have never gotten a return phone call or my part after leaving three messages and being hung up on once I finally gave up.
I located another isolator from a different company purchased it with no problems for almost $80.00 less than Spider Marine. I will never ever call their number again very unprofessional is putting it mildly.
Left me hanging. BAD DEAL

Preferred solution: I want nothing from this company
Poor quality
We purchased a starter for our boat in July 2013 we went out one time. We had the boat serviced for this season the shop told us that the starter sticks.
They are a auto electric shop but didn't have time to rebuild it (3 Weeks). So I am stuck buying another starter. The sweetness of low price wears off long before the bitterness of poor quality. I filed a c omplaint with the Attorney General of Florida and the Better Business Bureau of Dania Beach Florida.
Only to find out that they are not members but have an F rating. I hope more people read this and maybe the will go out of business
- Because of poor quality and poor customer service
Preferred solution: Full refund
Starter Review
I ordered a starter from spider marine and that was the last I heard from them. The answering service that took my money cannot connect me with anyone at the company. If you want my advice deL with someone else to me the is the most expensive starter I ever bought because I got ripped off for my money
Spider Marine FRAUDS, LIARS and THEIFS !!!
They advertise like they are a big operation but have no service dept. No parts dept.
No sales dept. You can pretty much only order on the web. They find any way possible to deny returns. If you make a purchase you get no confirmation of that purchase.
No confirmation of payment. No info on shipping, tracking etc... Everything they sell are knock-offs made over seas. When they say "made to specs" they mean size and fit not quality and durability standards.
Do a little homework before you buy from them, I wish I did. You will find a lot of bad reviews on them. It is by far the worst product and service I have ever received! I honestly feel *** for being sucked in by the price.
Remember, you get what you pay for AND if it sounds to good to be true it probably is.
Its not the money I wasted that bothers me its that places like this make a living off cheating people. Good luck to all!

NO REFUND ON DEFECTIVE ALTERNATOR
Company sent me an alternator with a defective voltage regulator. Instead of honoring a refund..they thought it was better to make me wait and have me ship it back at MY COST and then test it and then send me another...When I told them I wanted a refund, the answer was NO.
Don't try to call them. Answering machine only....DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THEM!! BAD PARTS...BAD SERVICE...YOU WILL GET SCREWED!!!!! They would rather take your money and run, then honor you as a consumer.
Typical internet business....BUYER BEWARE!!! STAY AWAY FROM SPIDER MARINE!!
Does not honour warranty
I bought a starter from this company for my Yanmar diesel. First off, even though the ad lists the starter as a "New Hitachi" starter, and the invoice says "New Hitachi" starter, it is not a Hitachi starter. They sell generic Chinese knock offs. If you read the fine print in the ad, it says manufactured by Spider Marine. This confusion I accept as my fault for not reading more closely. However, you can buy the same generic starters on eBay as Spider Marine sells for significantly less money.
Now the real issue. My new starter shattered on me after a month of use. I was on an extended sailing trip in the middle of nowhere. Luckily, I had brought my old starter with me, just in case. I sent pictures of the damage to Spider Marine. I got a reply fairly quickly from the "sales manager". Now having dealt with the company several times and having done some research, I now know this is the only person you can deal with. He's a one man show. And he's extraordinarily arrogant. In response to my email showing the broken starter, I was given a "physics" lesson and told that my account of the events- I had simply tried to start my engine- must have been false. He did, however, agree to take it back. I told him I was still on my trip and would send it when I could.
I finally got a chance to send it back about a month and a half later. The tracking number showed they had received the defective starter, but I couldn't get a hold of them/him. I tried calling and emailing. I finally received a reply 2 weeks later saying that the damage wasn't warrantied. I reminded him he had already said it was. The next reply was that it was past the 30 day return limit. I replied that I was never told of any limit on the return authorization, even though I had told him I was still out on my trip when it had happened and didn't know when I was going to be able to ship it back. His reply was simply a link to their return policy. It then became clear to me that he never had any intention of sending me a new starter and honouring the warranty. He was kind enough, however, to offer to ship me back my broken starter at my expense.
Conclusion?
Spider Marine should be avoided. The sales manager is arrogant. They have a professional looking website, but that is the only professional thing about the company. If you look at their address on google street view, you'll see what I mean. I have purchased dozens of marine products only. Buying online can be a bit of a *** shoot. I was, unfortunately, fooled into thinking Spider Marine was a professional company. A company where, if you had a problem, you could talk to someone who was reasonable and understood what customer service was. This is not Spider Marine. If you do still choose to buy a starter from him, you may just get parts from my old defective starter as I'm certain he's just going to take parts off and resell it.
Spider Marine does not honor return policy.
Spider marine does not honor its STRICT return policy. If you get the wrong part Tough *** your stuck with it and you pay shipping to get it returned to you.
I would highly recomend you shop elsewhere. there is a reason prices are to good to be true. You will get screwed. I orderd a starter solinoid, it was incorrect.
I called and was told it only fits our starters. I said fine send me a new starter. Starter was wrong. I sent both back.
Was told there was fingerprints on starter and they would not take it back.
got screwed out of 2 shiiping costs and price of starter. Had to pay for the idiots to send me back a starter I cant use.

Thank you very much , I thought they had phone problems and requested the answering service to relay message that I wanted to talk to someone before I placed an order. Came across reviews and this explains why answering service only takes orders. This is not how I want to do business with a company
