I hate it.

AI Highlights
  • Reboots required; it's hard to use.
  • Feels intrusive with limited malware scanning.
  • Removed after install; money wasted; payment reminders persist.

I don't like the idea of having to reboot every single time I used it. It is difficult to use and think it's more of an intrusion than helper.

Removed it soon after installing it and wasted my money, since I have other programs that provide much better features and abilities to handle problems if they arise. My vote is to skip this product, especially didn't like the limits and it's malware scanning.

Also, I paid for it on September 10, 2016 and am getting reminders from them about that payment, don't they have an up to date data bank that doesn't bother customers after purchase? I have the download but Speedy Pro communication are now marked 'SPAM'.

No reponse to issues I paid to have covered!

AI Highlights
  • In May I paid $150 for computer maintenance.
  • Speedy PC Pro claimed McAfee/Microsoft representation, and I could not contact the listed number.

In May I paid $150 for service to keep my computer in good running

order. Speedy PC Pro assured me they were represented by

McAfee and Microsoft. Today my copy machine would not respond

to my request to print. When I contacted the Canon Co., I was told

by a representative of Apex that I had over 5000 errors. I could not

contact Speedy PC Pro with the number they gave me (888322****)

I just held for 45 mins with music playing. I have contacted my

Visa for return of my $150 paid to Speedy PC Pro through Safecart.

Sad dealing with another country's people. Not a good image!

Nothing but a scam

AI Highlights
  • Activation call claims malware and $225 fix.
  • They staged a show to justify price; software not activated.
  • Cancel auto-renewals in SafeCart.

After purchasing the software, you call to get software activated and are then told your computer has all kinds of malicious unwanted programs and that they can remove the unwanted programs for $225.00. They put on a whole theatrical show for you saying they asked their supervisor to give you this special price.

In the end, the software I purchased was not activated since I said I did not want them working on my computer remotely for "malware issues." You can delete automatic renewals by making an account in safe cart and then deleting automatic renewals.

Never again! Do not purchase this software.

Infected and caused malfuction of my computer

AI Highlights
  • Hotel ethernet infected PC with speedypc; wifi dropped; cost $100; two techs removed it; Norton didn't detect; don't download or use.

I connected my labtop to a hardline at a hotel which infected my computer with "speedypc". Next my computer would not hold a wifi signal.

I spent $100 to get it fixed, took them going through my computer 2 times to finally get rid of it and get me back on a steady wifi signal. It took a very experienced tech to find how deep it was buried in my computer. Once the tech found it I was informed just how toxic this program is and we worked through getting rid of it for good. Norton didn't even find it.

This is a known infected program.

Don't download it, don't use it!

Can't stop auto-renewal

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
AI Highlights
  • Speedy PC scanned your PC and recommended online remote support.
  • Auto-renewal of $59.94 occurred without consent via SafeCart; no stop option.

Tried Speedy PC based on an add on the STEAM.COM web-site.

All it does is "review" your PC and recommend on-line support with remote access to your HD. Bad idea. All they really want is to get you hooked to pay more money for the support. Now they have me set up on auto renewal of $59.94 which I did not ask for.

They use "SafeCart" as a billing third party.

Went to both web-sites but there appears to be no way to stop the subscription and auto renewal.

Only option appears to be cancel the credit card used.

This is a true SCAM. Stay away.

Preferred solution: Cancel subscription and auto renewal

I have Speedy PC Pro and am happy

AI Highlights
  • It is an automatic tool to clean registry errors, history, and junk and is a partner with Microsoft.
  • Running it weekly keeps my computer fast.

Yes, it is true that you can manually do some of what Speedy does but the fact is that this is an automatic way of cleaning system registry errors and getting rid of history and junk on your computer. They are a true partner with Microsoft and by running the program once a week I have had no problems using my computer with most of the same speed as when I bought it new.

I cannot comment on others who have had trouble but only my experience. I don't believe that they have advertised anything that they have not followed through with to perform.

Speedy PC Pro overcharged

AI Highlights
  • Renewal notice from Speedy PC Pro.
  • A $10 discount was automatically applied.
  • A $9.97 online support add-on was added automatically.
  • Paid via PayPal; awaiting refund.

Speedy PC Pro sent me a renewal notice for their anti-virus software. The offer included a 10$ discount that would be "automatically entered".

The bill seemed $10 too high but I figured that it would bbe corrected when the receipt displayed. I paid and the final bill was still about $10 too high. Then I paged back and found that their site had automatically checked "on-line support for an additional $9.97" (I had not selected that option). Unfortunately the bill was already paid by Paypal.

No easy way to contact them so I fired off an e-mail to their general mailbox. Still awaiting a refund.

They offered either a refund or 6 months extension.

That is acceptable.

My dad got it and they raised the price on him and he still bought it. But they told him after he already bought it that it can't fully remove the viruses cause it would cost 300 dollars or more.

What a scam! So,he got his money back the next day.

SpeedyPC fraud

AI Highlights
  • The site promoted SpeedyPC, then GeekTech, with the same UI.
  • Only GeekTech offered a trial.
  • Uninstall issues and restore risk; refund promised.

www.comsumer-guides.com is a fake consumer site promoting SpeedyPC and GeekTech computer register cleaner software. When I first went on the consumer-guides site they were promoting SpeedyPC, which, unfortunately I purchased. After being dissatisfied with SpeedyPC, I went back to consumer-guides and they were promoting GeekTech. GeekTech had the exact same user interface as SpeedyPC and was compared to the same other register cleaner. However, I noticed that NONE of the other cleaners would allow me to try their products, only GeekTech could be used.

Several reasons why you should not use products like SpeedyPC and GeekTech and RegCure, etc.: Among them, (1) real computer geeks will tell you that you shouldn't mess with the registry; (2) these programs don't tell you what they are removing; (3) you might need to do a computer restore and SpeedyPC removed ALL the data required to do a restore. I was not able to do a restore to a date PRIOR to when SpeedyPC was installed; (4) SpeedyPC could NOT be removed from my PC through the NORMAL Control Panel program UNINSTALL process, I had to go to the program folder and manually remove it; and (5), I could not see ANY difference in the time it took my lap top running XP to boot up, it still takes a very long time.

I asked for a refund, and they agreed, but that remains to be seen. Since I used American Express, I WILL get a refund, one way or another

Cancelled subscription

AI Highlights
  • Emailed SpeedyPro to cancel; not processed.
  • They bill PayPal monthly.
  • No phone contact.
  • They claimed infection and charged $345 to clean it.

I sent an email and told SpeedyPro to cancel my subscription and they still have not done so. They say they are charging my PayPal monthly.

They need to STOP NOW!!! I can find no way to contact them by phone. When I first got the program they told me my computer was infected and transferred me to another man.

They then charged me $345.00 to "clean" my computer so I could run the program. I realize now I shouldn't have given them the money, but this company is running a scam and when you try to contact them, NOTHING!!!!

You should be able to call them, if you haven't already. Here are The numbers as of May 2014.They are in Canada.

I made sure I didn't sign up for auto renewal. It's pretty standard for them to do that, but never...never.. never! my personal philosophy.

1-88*-***-**** Cust. service number. be prepared to a wait hold.. this is for Pareto Logic 855-220-****-I got tired of the service constantly needing to update renewal.

I had the same hustle to sign up for their monthly tech service, which I declined. I have never had a problem with them or without them. I can't really tell if speedy pc pro does anything. I had malware on computer 3 times and they never caught it.

The exploit Trojan, which can be serious. they gave me some weird explanation why pc pro doesn't always pick them up.

not good enough explanation for me.

I have Security Essentials by MSFT and it caught it and got rid of it. I got rid of speedy as well.

AI Highlights
  • Bought SpeedyPC Pro for $50.33 inc HST.
  • Software did not fix desktop PC errors.
  • Upsell to $250; refund claim not found; auto-charges before expiry.

I purchased software from SpeedyPC Pro for the amount of $50.33 inc HST. The software did not fix or repair any of the errors on my desk top PC.

While I'm purchasing SpeedyPro the high pressure sales person tried to sell me more product for $250.00.

Their add says money back guaranty but can't find anywhere to make a refund claim. Also payments will be automatically charged prior to expiration of your subscription.Buyer beware big time if you are purchasing SPEEDY PC PRO.I'm really suprised that this outfit would scam the public when in fact they could produce a desent product.

AI Highlights
  • The cleaning package finds errors but doesn't fix them.
  • The company is hard to contact and seems to offer a nonworking deal.

This company sold me a computer cleaning package and all it seems to do is pick up errors, so I go over and over cleaning my system. More than 100 errors every half hour??

Doesnt seem to do anything! I cant contact them either. They seem to be selling a deal that doesnt do anything. Where are the best security packages available from?

Cant say that any security cleaners are seen to be doing their job.

Not even the package that I got from the Computer company. so i decided to write this to see if anyone else has problems with this co.

Speedypc Pro

AI Highlights
  • Activation involved poor English.
  • Agent sabotages PC to charge around $200; SpeedyPC Pro damaged Norton 360.
  • Better programs exist.

the software seems to be ok but when you call to activate the software you get a person that has a problem with the speaking english, as far as i can tell his only real job it to try and screw up your computer so he can charge you about $200.00 to fix it. there are much better programs out there that don't mess with your other anti-virus programs.

i had norton 360 on the computer and it trashed it.

i had to compleatly remove speedypc pro from the system and reload norton 360. if you see an advert for speedypc pro run.

Speedy PC Pro

AI Highlights
  • Purchased key for $39.95.
  • Salesman remotely accessed PC; showed errors; logs none.
  • Pushed $900/year MS support; no refund yet; fraud filed.

http://www.speedypc.com/product/product-speedypc-pro.aspx

I purchased the key to open this software $39.95 only to have to call another number and speak with a salesman who remotely accessed my computer and showed me the many errors it had. Funny thing though I checked my logs in event viewer a couple of minutes before and there were no errors.

He then was persistent that I had to purchase Microsoft support for $900 a year and would not take no for an answer. I still refused to purchase it an hung up. The salesman still continues to call me bugging me to purchase the support.

I still have not received a refund so I filed a complaint of fraud with me credit card company.

Purchased Speedy PC Pro. Instead of a download, got transferred to a tech, who was probably Indian or Pakistani.

Ran the program, but still had errors; then he re-ran it. Still got errors. Transferred me to a "senior tech", who was just a salesman insisting that I buy their on-line services that would guarantee that all errors would be fixed. He wouldn't take No for an answer so I hung up on him.

Been trying ever since to find an address or phone number so I could cancel Speedy PC. No luck yet; think I'll just uninstall the product before sometning bad happens.
